His cancer is in the final stages. Over the years, I've done a number of his songs, in a number of different bands... I'm going to miss him...

Sorry to hear it. I guess that's why he canceled a concert he had scheduled in New Jersey recently. I only know his music from his days with The Band but those were formative years for me and their music was a big part of my life. I still listen to the albums (yes, on vinyl!).

  Latest news: Levon Helm passed away this afternoon aged 71.
