Title: Camping near site?
Post by: Prof. John Bull on April 25, 2012, 01:52:43 PM
For a number of reasons we are unlikely to leave our trailer in the participant campground this year.

Has anyone stayed in any of the nearby campgrounds?  Are they fest friendly?  Reasonable rates?  Any with shuttle service to B gate? ;D

The KOA in Jordan is nice and quiet. They have showers and a pool. I dont think they have a shuttle service.

There is a campground close by Valley fair and the place was clean and nice the last time I was there, ask Goody about the rates and stuff she stays there every year. They do have weekly and monthly rates, but I cant remember the name of the place and its under new management.

KOA is awesome.  They know and understand the Fest thing.  Very reasonable rates.  Family run.  I would never camp anywhere else, if I am ever off site.

Goodryn Anicet, a forum member, camps when she attends MN RF.  Her family invited the Galena Group to dinner when we were there.  I don't remember the name of the campground, but it was very nice.  And our hotel was down the block from it, which  made it very convenient.

P.S.  The dinner - and the margaritas - everything was delicious!

Shakopee Valley RV Park  We have stayed the last six years altho under new management and after the flooding last year we were not that impressed. Lots of festies stay there. Pretty in the woods and on MN river.

Campground in Savage (Must be called Town & Country) Very clean. U rent out lil fire pits or else one large group fire each night. Very open, not alot of privacy or tree coverage as i recall.

I would recommend the first as it is the cheapest and fine for crashing. Things may be different in upcoming season with the management so hard to say.

Plus if you stay there you can join us for the After-Fest Fiesta!
