Title: Parking at Sherwood (Celtic Fest)
Post by: Hercules on September 24, 2012, 08:43:32 AM
First off. We had a GREAT TIME Sunday, Sept. 23 for the Celtic Fest. Nice to see folks we know dressed down and comfy just enjoyng themselves! Boss-wench and I had a great time.  ;D

But...what's up with putting the first comers at the BACK of the parking?  ??? Since we drive from Dallas we stay the whole day. At end of a long day of wandering the last thing we wanted was to hike to the back of the parking lot.

Didn't seem fair to get there to a empty parking lot only to be directed to park furthest from the gate.    :-\

Will regular-season Sherwood Forest Faire parking be like this too?

we acknowledge your concerns and they make sense.  we will reverse the order come faire time. apologies.  no explanation except that's how we started it and never changed.

I wondered the same, when we pulled up about 11 am there was a line of cars and from the road I thought the lot was full, I'm glad my Dad had his handicap tag. The line of cars was caused by having to drive slowly through all the folks who'd already parked walking to the gate- another good reason to fill from the back.

Here's a question, does the faire have a way to put down some water in the lot and in the fairegrounds? I know a water truck is a big expense, but a portable water tank/sprayer in a truck would help with the dust.
