Does quiet camping exist at Sherwood? It states so on the website but I don't remember actually seeing a place in the campgrounds that would be considered "quiet"?
I assume you are asking about Patron Quiet/Family camping.
As a matter of fact, yes, we have a separate area for family/quiet camping. Just take a left at the cross-road below the security booth and continue straight on the gravel road. I have a sign point the way and another sign at the entrance into the area.
Note that this area is tent camping only. The road is gravel, but the camping spots are still loose sand (that will get compacted over the years). Do not park on the road.
Check with me when you come in. I tend to hang out at the security booth for an hour or so after I opent the campgrounds gate and after that, I hover around the campgrounds. Look for the bearded old phart on a golf cart.
I was out this weekend for the gathering, I drove through the open camping and the family camping I would suggest that if you are considering camping in these areas be sure to bring a rake and gloves and a broom to sweep the dirt out of the tent at the end of the weekend. I ended up camping in the open camping near the entrance for the quiet/family camping it was really nice. Though I almost left Mpullen my tent as there was quite a large wolf spider who decided he liked my tent and wanted to keep it sunday morning. It was a standoff but I won and the spider crawled off the the brush pile.

May not have been a wolf spider, but more probably a banana spider. During year -1 before Faire opening, the trees had their webs all over the place.
Those are two spiders that no one should confuse. They looking nothing alike. The banana spider (aka zipper spider) will rarely be found on the ground unless knocked out of a tree.
We had one move into the end of a tent pole during year one. She would build her web between the back of the tent and a tree. She wasn't bothering me so I left her be. After closing weekend I put her in the tree.
Kind of early for banana spiders I think. I usually see them after the freeze weather is gone.
Unless they build a web across a path (such as the stubborn one who bridged my entrance gate every day for almost a month), I leave them alone. Watched one mama build her web, protect her eggs, then fade and die at the end of summer. They start off bright and pretty, then you can watch them age and fade in color over time.
