For those of you that haven't posted on this list before you need to answer these questions three:
1.) What weekend of faire are you attending? (i.e. I and all of clan Mcshuggenah will be out Halloween Themed Weekend only)
2.) How many people are in your group for said weekend? (i.e., There will be about 20 of us)
3.) Where are you staying? (example: Caming w/ (insert group name here)....staying in a hotel...I'm daytrippin'...We'll be staying on Row -2)

The Good Lord willing and the Creeks don't rise, StudMuffin and I will be there for the big 3, Opening, All Hallows and Celtic Christmas. Hopefully camping with Phoenix Risen for the first two and likely day tripping for the last.
I have to make up for my much abbreviated last season and thank all those souls who were so helpful when I got broken.

You will have to revise the map to show the "premium" camping area.
I'll be going onsite sometime this Summer and doing a GPS survey to overlay on Google Earth, plus the standard picture overlay to interactive map for the TRF website and Facebook page.
Mark me down as "working" every weekend. My trailer will be located behind the entrance Quickie Mart.

Greetings all!! I started getting antsy a few weeks ago and am already planning some preparations for this year.
As of now, Clan Destiny is planning to camp on said weekends (Pirate, Highland, and Barbarian up in the air), with about 6 campers... 8 once my best friend stops being mad at me :P
WOOT... Big Three for me! Prolly Camping, Opening... For Sure, All Hallows... :o
I'll most likely be day-tripping on AHE Saturday.
Oh, Clan Destiny will be same place as last year, roughly C-(-1). Over right up against the tree line.

Rogue Society will be about c 12 ( hopefully) like we always try for...I will be there personally Opening weekend, Halloween, Roman and Highland Fling. In fact all of us should be there Highland Fling as two of our members are getting married that weekend! The bride will be joining me for all 4 weekends and I am not sure of anyone else at the moment. Can't wait! If it was not for all the new garb and wedding stuff I have to finish I would hope it would be here sooner...but considering I am glad I still have time! :o

Hi there! Pirates of Tortuga are actually going to be out there every weekend. I know myself personally I am going to be there opening weekend, All Hallow's Eve, and Highland Fling. :] Not sure about the rest of the clan, but I'll poke them to tell them to join up on here and pipe up! And I'm not exactly sure where on the map we camp... I gotta looking at the map again!

Thank you all for your helpful advice! Tentatively it looks like we will be there the second weekend of the faire or the first weekend in november. We will likely be camping to save on $$. Looking forward to meeting you all!
We have a Meet & Greet every weekend... tentatively at Indulgences but that may change. Check back for more details when we get closer to TRF time. Watch for the "99 bottles of Loki on the wall" countdown. :o Everyone stops by... more and more the closer we get. ;D

I shall be there, like the past 7-10 years past. First weekend is must. Second and third if I can swing. Depends on work and all. Never know when I'm going to be off and all. Don't really camp with anyone in particular... I'm setup shop near the Captain. Next-or near the bonfire. If you don't know me I'm the one with crazy lasers.. apparently.. Anyways this year I shall be there with not only the laser show in my tent, but also my homemade street legal dune buggy ;D .

A while back when I was in Specs I gave the guy the recipe for one of my lokis. Apparently it was a hit. Next time I went in he told me everyone wanted more.

I wanted to get us on the list. The PP, myself, and the fuzzlet are camping as usual with the Consillium Pirate weekend with about 15 people. We usually make port about D20 to E21. It seems the older we get the furthur away we like to camp.

This is EXTREMELY tentative for the moment, but now that Hubby has a new work schedule and has Saturdays off now, things are looking good.
We're thinking of camping Pirate Adventure Weekend (Does anyone know if PR is camping that weekend? I haven't posted here in a while and I'm not sure if I missed anyone mentioning that)
We will most likely daytrip for Opening Saturday. I'm not sure if I will hit up Opening Sunday just yet. It depends on how things go that morning.
As for Closing, it's looking like that might be a maybe as well.
This is the first year in a long time where we will NOT be attending AHE weekend, but it's all good.

For the second year I actually get to camp Pirate weekend, just simply overjoyed. Everything else is a depends on life in general.
Myself and boss wench will be hoteling it on opening weekend and on All Hallow's Eve. May day-trip on other weekends. ;D
We'll be daytripping Opening day, but unless we acquire more free tickets that'll be it for the year. I was serious about the not-giving-them-another-dime thing :)

BTW I'm not sure if it has been updated yet or not but Concilium is camping the pirates weekend( 11/1-3) , NOT bachanal.
It's been two long years but we WILL return this season. We are planning on at least Pirate Weekend and possibly Christmas Friday and Saturday. On Pirate weekend 'twill be Ryk, Jezz the Belle and a crew of daughter, son-in-law and 4 grandchildren (their first ever trip to TRF). Will likely be staying in Magnolia at the motel but hope to visit the campground for a while.
We bought our tickets and have planned on camping 2 weekends this year.
I'm sooo excited! I've never camped at TRF before :) I looked at the map of the campgrounds and it looks huge! Any suggestions where to set up shop? :)
You can always camp with one of the clans that frequent these boards
Phoenix Risen, Clan P and McLotofus all are pretty welcoming
(I recommend Phoenix Risen because that's my people of course)

In the main area trees are scarce. In the area we are in there are more trees but I don't think they are close enough for a hammock.

We hang two hammocks in our Sherwood camp, but as Teach mentioned, trees can be fairly scarce depending on where on the grounds you make camp. We used to to hang a hammock in our old spot. The trees were grouped perfectly for that. In the area that we camp now we only have one tree and it doesn't even have good branches for a swing hammock.
TRF should consider an Arbor day and plant a bunch of trees out there. Trees are great for Ren camping ambiance.

Well- last year I was in the Magical weekend costume contest and won 2nd prize. I thought I won a season pass. That is what it has been for several years and they announced it as a season pass. I got my tickets and there are only 4- so I will be at TRF for 2 weekends. I called and was told they changed the prizes- 2 years ago. I know that is not true because I was there last year on a season pass I won on Roman weekend. Not sure which 2 weekends I will go. yet.Depends on the weather. I am bummed about this.
Well my mistake on the contest. Guess I am losing it? I talked to Terre. It was changed to 4 tickets- last year. I was just not aware of the change. Well I am happy to be going to TRF at all! See you there.

All Hallow's Eve is a definate for me. The opening andclosing weekends are very likely as well. Scarletnyx can make as many weekends as we can afford/she has the energy for.
By now, all the folks at work have come to accept the fact that I just have to have my autumn weekends so I can, as one coworker put it, " go play Lord of the Rings in the woods."
Scarletnyx and I will are also to oversee Clan Phoenix Risen's campsite this weekend.
1001 and AHE for me for sure. I plan on going two more times, but those days are up in the air as to when.

I know for a fact that AHE is a go. Sorry, Jess... I can't land grab this year... Earliest I can get out there would be Thursday evening. Opening is a go, but not sure if I'll camp Saturday night & go in Sunday or just day trip. Ditto for Closing...
Woops, I was wrong on scheduling. We won't be out for closing this year sadly. My Lovely Lady has to work that Friday.

Hey all! The lady and I will be camping during Pirate Adventure, our 1st time camping that's not on AHE. I was wondering what the campgrounds were like on other weekends? Same or a little more mellow than AHE? Also, I was wondering if there was any kind of meet up during the faire?
You will need to update the grid map, to show the new "premium" camping area (no additional charge, but really closer to the gate).
The new premium camping area will probably get filled fast from the non-clan campers. Many new clans filling the old overflow parking rows, some with great setups.
I will be out every weekend, patrolling around constantly Friday, helping new folks find the perfect spot and trying to settle disputes. And possibly checking on the weekend menus for each group, just to give an unbiased opinion.
The Faire may be setting up more flagpoles down the center of the campgrounds. If your group doesn't have a distinctive flag, you can purchase a generic one at the Quickie Mart. Rules are that the first group to setup in an area gets to fly their flag at the highest point. The next group will haul down that flag and tie their flag below that one and rehoist, and so forth. No cheating. Be creative on making a clan/group flag. No limitation on size, but be reasonable. Above all, don't run into the flagpoles with your vehicles (the reason why they are not placed by the road).
I now have a Kawaski Mule 4x4 to replace my golf cart, so I can haul 5 or more folks from the campgrounds to the Quickie Mart/Flushies/Showers and back. Just flag me down as I go by. My schedule is flexible, with a couple of tours before gate, a couple of hours in-faire, a noon-time tour, lunch at trailer or in-faire, a couple more hours in-faire, and then a couple more tours in the evening, plus trips to Chaos/Claw/Drunken Gnomes for clan festivities. My trailer is setup behind the Quickie Mart at the campgrounds entrance, so I will be there Friday to wave at folks as they arrive.

There was an aerial picture posted on FB in the Fields of New Market Campgrounds around Aug 9th that showed the "Premium camping" with some pink highlighting. Is pretty accurate. The amount of land that was cleared out (plenty of trees left for shade) is astounding. From A0 to D(-5) and H(-5) to M0. I know we're going to be shifting about 1 row up since our treeline back was removed. And Bondage Camp will either have to push back against the fence, or have plenty more space to play.
I'll be there opening weekend - no camping though, since the goats need me. LOL

Yes, the brown areas are where they cleared out, but they did not totally level the area. They left trees here and there much like where Phoenix Risen camps.
I camp with McShug... We were in the open but it was nice having trees about... Me thinks they tryth a bit too hard. >:(

Oh also the map shows us at row 1-2 we are usually camping with or right next to our beloved friends, the Drunken Gnomes, around Rows 5-6 since most of us are members of both groups anyways. lol

So I found this forum on Google. A couple of friends and I are coming to Faire on opening weekend and we were wondering if we might be able to join one of the larger camps. It's been a few years since we have been and we always camped with Green in Never Land. I have lost contact with her and I don't see any mention of Never Land on here.
Anyone have any suggestions?

Looks like our +4 have backed out... so it will just be the two of us, this year. I can't really say I'm disappointed, though, because shepherding neophytes around such a big faire is exhausting... and we never seem to get to do the things that WE want to do... so, yay! :D lol

That's what they all do, for the most part (as they should)... LOL But with 4 extra's someone is always wanting to pull everyone in one direction or other... and it's been too long since we were able to chart our own course! That's what this year is going to be about, for us, anyway!

Really it depends on what weekend you're coming out. Most group are out every weekend but there are some that are only out one or two weekends.

Update for Bayou Scoundrels for AHE weekend. We will be camping with 6-8 tents in addition to the RV beside Pheonix Risen. Capt SIN, Willa Swallow, Pat McGroin, Anita Goodman, Myself and my significant better as well others whom I don't know faire names for.
Update for me - I won't be able to make it opening weekend (band is booked both nights). However, I'll be there second weekend, Oct 18-20th. Still room at McLotofus, I hope!

So Far I know that I The Lady Kat and master Dorian will be there 1st and 2nd weekend and will be out again on the 4th weekend with the hubby and not sure about the other weekends yet but i will be there more then just that.
Jess, still working on the map. The terreserver does not have an updated image of the grounds but funny enough, Google did. So I'm arduously creating a high res image. I've been working on it every night this week. Hopefully I'll have something before the end of the weekend. I don't get much time to work on it at night.

The grid map is going to have to be deeply revised.
Besides the premium campgrounds, there is additional area cleared in the South-West area.
I doubt an air survey will be done in the next couple of years, so existing Google Maps, etc. will have to be taken at face value.
If I get the time, I'll do a GPS survey showing all the areas, but I figure folks exploring the new areas will be better.
We have a great turn-out for the open house today and I hope all questions were answered.

So, please post your coords here so that I can get the map updated with your name and area. Also note that the original is a big image. Click on the image to get the bigger image to show. It didn't make sense to base the map on row numbers anymore because of the new areas. However, I fully expect us to continue to use the row references as landmarks for our visitors. I'll get McShug updated as soon as I have some other updates so that I can knock them all out at once.
