Title: Florida: Camelot Days vs. Sarasota Medieval festival
Post by: ttuskey on September 29, 2013, 06:52:06 PM
Hi all.. we will be visiting Florida in November and will be there on the weekend of the 9th/10th, during which both the Camelot Days Renaissance Festival AND the Sarasota Medieval Faire will be active.  We only have the one day (Saturday) that we could go, and are stuck trying to decide which one would be more worth going to (not to disparage either of them).
We are veterans of the Bristol Renaissance Faire, been going there several weekends each year for the last 20+ years.  Would be cool to visit another faire around the country.

Thanks!

Looks like both events have good entertainment lined up.

It's hard to tell which one is larger, since only one (Sarasota) lists that they've got over 100 shops.

Sarasota does say that they'll have Theatrical, rather than Full Contact Jousting on the weekend of the 9th/10th.  Camelot has a Full Contact Jousting troupe.

Which event is closer to where you're staying?

Take Care,

Sarasota is closer (staying in Ft. Meyers) so that's good.  Planning on going to that one :)
