Due to my father being diagnosed with terminal cancer and me taking care of him and mom on my days off, my faire season is going to be here and there this year now. I am going to still try and get to my home faire of Bristol as much as possible this season and other faires as well. I did manage to get away to perform for the last 2 weekends at the Door County Renaissance Faire here in Wisconsin. Had a great time and a well needed rest. But, everything depends on how he is doing, which has been good so far. He has home hospice set up, but he has been his old self for now getting around and other things. My mother also needs some help here and there. So, spending as much time as I can with them now is my main priority. They are both 85 and have been married for 66 years.
I will post on here and FB if and where I will be going on certain days. So, if you do not see me at faire, you know why. In the meantime, everyone enjoy this new season of fun and adventure.
Lord Clisto
Clisto, I am sorry to hear the sad news about your dad. Your family will in my prayers. I'll look at the Bristol thread and hopefully our visits will coincide, and we'll be sure to say hi.
I'm praying for you and your family, Lord Clisto. I understand that Renfaires are a great escape from the realities of family situations. I hope you enjoy your time at all of them you can make it to.
My prayers and comforting energy are with you and your family, my friend.
Thank you everyone for the prayers and kind words. Believe me, they are much appreciated. I still have not made Bristol this season but I do intend to at least 2 times for sure. Normally its a lot more. I am usually at Dad and Moms and taking the time to be with them as much as possible. Making these lasting memories in pictures and videos with them means a lot and I want to enjoy all the time I have left with them and especially Dad at the moment. Faire is definitely a get away for me even for a day. July 26 I am hoping to get away and get to the "Ren in the Glen" faire up North here a bit for a day, then to Bristol for half the day on Aug 2nd for the knightly crusade. Other dates are up in the air. I do hope to see many of my faire friends yet this season.
