October 4th, Becker Octoberfest
I know everyone is gearing up for opening weekend but I wanted people to start thinking about the Chili Fest again. We just received "official" invitation to sign up again this year. Apparently there has been much discussion by "those in the know", excited to see what we'd do with our booth this year. Hoping we'd be there in costume again. We added "so much" to the event last year, etc. Hey, they loved us. ;D
Prize amounts have gone up:
Chili $400, $200, $100
Salsa $100, $75, $50
Best Booth $100
Live music again-same band
Activities
Food
Beer
Etc.

ooo! Not sure exactly what will be going on that weekend, but I may totally be in for this. We should totally up the ante. Maybe a slight change so it's not the exact same? just a thought!
As much fun as I had last year, I won't be able to go. :'(
Stupid work, the one weekend every two years I have to work. >:(
However, if I can help with implements and such, I try to help that way.
That's supposed to be my weekend to work. Yay for posting this so far in advance! I'll see if I can get it off or trade with somebody so I can join the fun this year!

Wanted to get this back on the first page. This event is not far off and being right after fest, is hard to plan for.
Does this look like something we want to do again? I will need to send off payment and registration ASAP.

Fig and I should be there as things stand right now. I can bring some baked goods, but we thought we'd let someone else tackle the chili. 8)
I want to do this, but will not be able to because of work. It was hard enough to get the weekends I have for fest off. I doubt I'll get another weekend off until after Christmas... :(
Note sure if LD will make it this year or not. As we get closer we will know for sure. It was fun last year.

There is still time to get in on this event. My friend said they have only 4 chilis so far. yikes! However, that's not terribly surprising since most of their entries from last year came in the last week.
To pull this off we really need at least 6 people. The booth itself takes quite an effort to pull together, plus the making of the chili (recommended 6 gallons). Any other food options are, uh, optional.
Obviously, since we are Ye Olde Chili Bowl, this would be an "en garbe" event. A tiny way to help ease out of fest season. ;)
Sounds like fun but I will not be able to attend as this is the first weekend after fest and will be pumping out mega apple pies.
Sadly we are out... That's the day of th JC Recovery Party at fest...
