We need to get some use out of it ;D
Count my family in! That is 3 of us. Is it ok to bring my 13 yr old? She's a junior renny at heart. :) I'll wait and see what everyone else is bringing. Looking forward to meeting you all.
Yes your are welcome to bring your 13 yr old, I have a 7, 10 and 12 year old ;D
There's a chance my room-mate and her sister are coming with me (they're both Rennies!), with a possibility of one other person.

Oh good! That will work out really well then. Your kids, are they boys and girls? Just curious, I know my daughter will be curious as well. This should be fun! I do have some dishes in mind. I'd like to hear what others are going to bring, and possibly do something different in case we have too much of something.
Glad you'll have the rum too! My favorite. ;)
I have a 12 year old son, and a 10 year old and 7 year old daughter. My older daughter is excited that someone close to her age is coming. ;)
Well you know I'll be there for some part of it. That is also the same day as the Musketeer gathering. If you kids will be there I'll pass that onto Dana so maybe she can come too with her kids.
Yes, my renlings will be there so tell Dana to come! :) Can you send me her e-mail?
I hope you realize that this is how Houston ended up with Clan McLotofus, and our monthly drunks parties!.... :D
Geez, I sure would hate it if that happened ;)
I'd love a gathering like that, monthly, holidays, parties.......yay! :D ;)
Houston has their clan, maybe Dallas is making their own now.

It's a definite possible maybe! :D
I'm seeing Clan McLotofus- Dallas Chapter in your future...
We would love to come, but with the drive and a previous commitment we won't be able to, but sure hope to next time.
Well, I'd like to bring my party potato's. They are wonderful, and always disappear rather quickly at family gatherings.
If we need anything else, let us know!
If you don't mind, we'd love to come. It would be me, mom, my 5 year old daughter and maybe her father. We could bring cookies. Anyone for peppernuts? Okay, that just sounds wrong. But, the cookies are good, really.
We'd love to have you and your group.
Counting down the days. We're finally in September!!!!
Lets hope for some cool weather
Updated forecast for this weekend has a high of 85.
Looks like the weather will be cooling off nicely for the DARG!
Its only a couple of weeks away.
I should be there :) Yes Sir Nicholas I check my myspace occasionally (whoops really saw it through facebook hehe)!!!
I may be (getting them to commit) be bringing about 5 others with me :)
Can't wait to see you guys!!!
Just a suggestion, and a thought. How would people feel about wearing name tags, with our forum name/real name. Some of you have met before, but, for us n00bs, it would be nice to put a name to a face. Just a suggestion! :)
From McLotofus' experience, it's a lot more fun to introduce yourself and then start introducing people that you know. When you come to one of these you're with family, so there's no reason to hold back.
This coming from the person that hides in the kitchen because of shyness.
Name tags are not a bad idea.
My name is so long I would need to get a T-shirt printed up. (http://www.cursors-4u.com/symbols/images1/sym56.gif)
I think I'll just use 'Catalina'
NAME AND RANK SOLDIER!!!
Name and Rank?
Sir Ronald the Bald
Earl of Darjeeling
Corporal of the Royal Highlanders
I am planning on being there.

Sounds like a 3 for 1 packaged deal!
Ello needs to get on the ball and update the list.
Dont pretend like you are doing school work or something :P
Oiy! Bite me, I'm working five days a week and going to school too! You can just be patient, ya old fart. :-*

Hey! I resent you calling kids like him old farts!
Us old farts earned our title. Make him work for it just like we did.

Thanks Zaubon ;D
I am just as old as most of these old farts around here. I'm still a kid at heart. You have to be that way, or you will become an old fart. We were just talking about that the other night. Some people get older, become stale, don't do much, PFFT!!! The faire is one aspect that keeps us young. ;)
*hugs Ott* I'm allowed to tease you.
Can't wait for the 20thhhh!!
Well the 10 Day forecast says it will be 65 low, a high of 86 and sunny.
I'm glad it won't be this weekend with Hurricane Ike looming in the forecast!
So do we know how many are coming?
I want to bring plenty of potato salad. :)
ask the old fart commenter. She's supposed to be tracking attendance, but keeps coming up with lame excuses like work and school.
Im guessing somewhere around 35+ people
Every time I update the list, I update the estimated number of people (give or take a few that haven't said yes or no yet).
Just look at the number right after Attendees, that's in brackets. Right now, its at 30 but yeah...I'd say 35. ;D
I will try to make it. I have to work that day but if I leave work at 2:00 I should be there around 6:00 or 7:00. A long drive from Houston, but it would be worth it.
We'd love to have you there my lord!
I am so glad to see you are going make the journey. look forward to seeing you! ;D
I'm gonna make the journey from Frisco. That's like 3 miles. It better be worth it!!!
;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
We really should discuss the food situation, and who is going to be bringing what. With this many people, need to tighten this up more! :D I'd be happy to bring more.
*discuss amongst ourselves*
We will be providing the Brisket, Chicken and Sausage. We are also providing Beans and Slaw and I know Dona Catalina is bring enough Potato Salad for all and Texas Toast, and I know you are bringing party potatos, and newbie is bringing cookies.
Maybe a few more deserts, salad, maybe a watermelon or two :) Any other suggestions?

I'm gonna be on my bike but can file my backpack with bags of chips. Everyone likes munchies!
We also have 72 sodas (Dr Pepper, Coke, and Crush)
Oh and Booze
(dont forget the booze)
Booze is of the utmost importance...putting it on our list so we don't forget...
I'll add a few diet sodas to the list also. ;D
Oh, and we do have a full bar also ;)
Man - to bad it ain't this weekend. We could be running around naked in the rain!!!
Some things I'd rather not see. You sir "running around naked in the rain" is high on that list.
Wow - the thought of me running around naked really shut this thread down didn't it....!?!
*chirp chirp, chirp chirp*
Moving on now... :P
I can't wait for Saturday!! :D

***UPDATE***
Calling for a high of 82 degrees and a low of 61 degrees
Can we say, damn lucky to have such great weather upon us? Man, I love this fall weather. :D WFAA calls for high around 85, who cares, in the 80's, it will be great!
I love love LOVE love LOVEEEEE this weather.
Because it's perfect sweater weather. ;D
Me too, I LOVE fall weather. My favorite time of year actually. I grew up in Michigan, I was spoiled by all the fall foliage. This will be a good time, looking forward to meeting everyone. :)
Three more days!!!!!!!!!!!!
And the weather is going to be BEE-AY-YOU-TEE-FULL!
We are excited! Never been to one of these gatherings. Will be nice to meet others near us.
You'll have to forgive us, though, but we also plan to use this as time to test run our new outfits for TRF. Will anyone else be wearing garb? I know it is optional. Just curious. It won't change our minds any. We like any excuse to dress up. :)
We talked about it as well, not sure if we will or not. Optional of course.
Oh what a day today. Both cars are acting up, talk about timing. One is in the shop right now. Hopefully they can get a handle on it tomorrow. If not, we may not make it Saturday. :(
I hope the car gods look nicely upon you, we would be sad if you could not come. :(
Last I heard, this was a garb-optional event.
But I definitely look forward to seeing the new garb Newbie, I'm bringing my camera with me so I can get some photos of it for you! :D
Don Juan will probably bring his camera too. So far the jury is still out on whether we'll be in garb or not.
I've got to finish my hat tonight, then we are ready.
Cookies are baked and ready to go. We might bring some fruit salad or sangria, too. Not sure, though.
We have 31 Hours to discus garb or not to garb ;D
Looks like the car won't be back today. I'm bummed, we REALLY wanted to go. I hope there is another gathering in the future. We'll be there at the next one. :'(
Huzzah!!!
I would say our host threw a pretty damn fine first ever DARG!!!! Thanks Otthein and Kate for sacrificing your home, food, and spirits for us! We had a fantastic time. It was great seeing everyone again and meeting the new folks.
Sorry I missed everyone. I'm sick with a nasty sinus infection.
Lisa and Jason throw the best parties, I hope everyone had a great time.
Mast Hugger Kate and Ottheinrich threw a great party!
All of you who didn't come missed a great time!
I'm glad everyone had a good time. We wished we could of been there. I hope there is another gathering soon! Maybe for the holidays, or something.
We got our car back yesterday, of course, it was late in the day. We won't miss the next one! I hope someone got pictures, would love to see them!
Yep, we had a great time with a great group of people. I haven't laughed that much in a looong time. Even my daughter didn't want to leave. Thanks so much for having us.
Ok where are all the photos from that night?

Yeah - where are they. And I'm trying to find out where that "special" photo that we heard about it....
I heard its the one of you running around nekkid in your bandanna. Is that true? :P ;)
Ok, hearing y'all had a good time, now let's see it! Where is all the pics?
It was such a pleasure to have all of you to our home! It was really great to get together with old friends and new and Royalty as well. Keep your eyes open for our Christmas GARB DARG, it should be fun as well. I'll let you guys know when we have a date. ;)
So, how did the pics turn out? I'd love to see some. However, I'd probably be embarrassed by my cheezy grin. ;D I rarely ever take a good picture.
I know it took a long time but..

Ello, only 5 pictures? I hoped you had taken more :'(
Yay, pics! Goody! Thanks for posting them.
Anyone else wondering who made the wet spots on the ground in front of everyone in the group shot? ;) Tut tut. Looks like someone had an accident. A couple of 'em! Hehe I'm terrible, huh?
Wasnt that from the ice shot glasses that we were breaking? :o
Ahh, the ice shot glasses. Sure it was. ;)
Those were some really cool shot glasses. I'm going to have to find some of those molds. Definitely can't nurse your shot in it, though. Drip...drip... I wonder if your tongue will get stuck to it. Maybe you should try it and tell us later this coming cold winter. :)

I was showing a friend you link and they said they picked the mold up at either Ross or Marshall's. They're neat, I'd heard of shot blocks before, using a block of ice and running the shot down a trench cut in to it.
Nice to see the pictures! Looks like a good time had by all. We'll surely make the next one.

It will be around the begining of December

We had such a great time, the company was most excellent! The laughter and jokes and stories never topped. I haven't enjoyed myself so much in a long time. Thank you for having us at your lovely home! :-)
I am sooooooo sorry I missed this gathering...
I've been out of town working... at a slaughterhouse southwest of Amarillo... and no computer access for 2 months.
Just got back home.
Assuming I'm not on the road again, I would DEFINITELY like to make the December gathering.
Perhaps I can browbeat my beloved Spookey into making one of her pineapple upside down cakes for the affair...
