So who is going to be out there. This is your official rollcall.
I am trying to get someone to cover part of my shift Saturday.
I will Sat and Sun
We will be there on Saturday.
And, we will have a couple of danes in tow! 1st time ever for either of them to the festival!
Cool Storm, more initiates. The wife and I will be there Saturday as usual.
LD & I will be there.
Hubby and I will be out there on Saturday. Panda (our daughter) is on the fence but leaning towards going. The teens are opting out (again). We won't be out on Sunday as that is out middle boy's birthday.
We will be there, Saturday and Sunday!! No beer wenching for me this weekend, so I will be out to play all day!!!
and..........
It's BIRTHDAY WEEKEND!!! Wheeeeeeee!!!!! ;D
oh and just for good measure..... KILTS!!! *squeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!*
:-*
I am almost positive I work all three nights so yeah you won't see much of me this time.
I'll be working the booth this weekend...someone come steal me away!
I'll be there slinging beer as usual. The kidlets will be with this weekend looking all snazzy in the new garb I made them.
I'm leaning heavily on going for Saturday. It's twins b-day on Sunday so that's my quandry.
hmmm...
kilts vs Monopoly.
Let me think?
I'll always be there. You can always find me at court dancing or at 1:30 and 3pm down in the enchanted forest.
I shall be there working the booth (727 Seventh Sojourn Soaps) and playing with the musicians of Terpsicory at their first show and then both court dances.
And, depending on what direction my motivation goes, I may have favors this weekend for the first time in a couple years...
MG - That picture is hilarious!!!
Honey, it's all you. :D ;)
What do you play?

I am thinking both days, put the twins in kilts, and I can bring my shovel to keep them busy. Best of both worlds... ;D
Both sat and sun, with the girls and hubby...in dane's,even!
We'll be hitting the MOA, if the girls get too hot/tired, thus the danes....
I'll be down last weekend (at least one day...) and be all "ARR" then!
Can't wait! ;D

Because for some strange reason your brain has started to see your kilt as "mundanes" when really it isn't?
I miss playing with the old Mayhem music jam. It used to happen about 5:30 was hosted by the now defunct band Morrigan (Stephen Brust, Mark Sterling, and Jay Koelsch) after their last gridded spot at the BLT. They introduced it as a break at the end of the day from all the traditional stuff they played all day and it was a pretty wide mix of stuff from other trad. to Grateful Dead, it was a lot of fun and late enough in the day that I could justify getting out of the booth for an hour.

They do that at Bristol at the end of the day by the Dreadnought. It's also cool cuz it might turn ya on to someone you hadnt thought of goin to see before.

I'm not singing there anymore. I asked to be taken off the grid. It's a silly place for me and I only made $3 all day. Now i can focus on the forest and actually pay my bills.
Doesn't bother me non though. I enjoy wearing it when I can, and just because it isn't really a mundane outfit, it should be.
Any of you that have me on myspace go check out Michaelbeeman. Michael wears kilts all the time. work, shopping...whatever.
he also has some unique tattoo work. full sleeve and a back piece thats well bees. I would pull some pics of him but work blocks myspace.
Isn't the Beeman from Brassgoggles?
Did anyone else hear about the US Postal worker who is trying to make a kilt an official option for men to wear while working there? He's arguing that a kilt made of the same or similar blue fabric that their pants are made from would be a nice alternative to the shorts or pants that males are currently required to choose from. Women have a choice of pants, skirt, shorts or culottes. Seems a fair argument to me.

What fun it was yesterday! Yes, I remember it all even though the morning is a bit fuzzy. That's what I get for mixing prescription medication and alcohol. Yes, yes. I know. I'm a bad person.
A big thank you to Mad Jack for being my escort yesterday. You kept me (mostly ;)) out of trouble and prevented at least 2 unpleasant accidents by allowing me to have your arm. Sneezing + pinched nerve in the neck = nearly blacking out.
And for all of you tongue waggers talking about Mad Jack and I walking around together yesterday-poo poo on you.
'nuff said.
Just about to leave out the door for another day of drunkenness. ;)
Hey MG say Happy Birthday!! to the brats; who would have more fun at faire, :P Just remember 3 fingers. ;D
Yesterday was a fun day, though we did not get a chance to talk to many.
We were out there with some danes, a buddy of mine and his wife, so we spent the day guiding them around faire. It was their 1st time there. I think they liked it. They loved the food and thought Vil. Tennis was hilarious. My buddy loved watching the Highland games and his wife loved all the shops. They left there with a welcome sign from Redwood Wagon. She has wanted one ever since she saw the one we have. It was kinda fun watching their reactions to things.
It was a great day, weather wise too. I wish every day could be like yesterday!
The only downer was that I lost a button off my new boots I purchased from Son of Sandlar last week. They replaced it, but charged me 10 bucks for it. I guess those buttons screw into the boot and they told me I need to make sure they are on tight before every wearing. Funny how they never told me that when I bought them! I talked to Anna over at Lavigne Leather and she said the exact same thing happened to a friend of hers. She lost a button too and they never mentioned to her to keep them tight either. I kinda think they should have replaced the button for free considering how much they charge for the boots and since they never mentioned the keeping them tight thing in the 1st place! But,oh well, I'm not about to make a big deal over 10 bucks. I still really like the boots. They are very comfortable and I would recommend them to anyone, but I would also tell them buyer beware about the buttons and to make sure they keep them tight!
We were out on Saturday (the 23rd) and had a great time. I got a new sash to put on my belt. It's gold and contrasts well with my black and green garb. I wanted something that stood out. I shopped around for some new boots, as I need some badly, but discovered that it's not an investment I'm ready to make yet. I admired the works at Angel Sword and drooled over some whips at a leather shop (I'll probably get one next time). I'm also contemplating buying a yard.
My wife picked up some faerie pipes like Twig plays. Shes a flute player and wants to give these a try. She also got a necklace with some home made perfume from a small little cart shop near Grove Stage.
MG I am utterly pis#$% off I never saw you on opening weekend! Again! What did you do to your neck? Have you tried a chiropractor? I know they aren't for everbody.
Me too! I was so disappointed that we missed each other, yet again! Damn and double damn! I hope your trip was worthwhile and enjoyable. I had marvelous fun opening day and was so glad to be in the shire again.
What did I do to my neck? Old war wound. Seriously. I injured it badly during Desert Storm (stationed in Turkiye, diving for cover during a chemical weapons strike). I've been going to a chiro and usually it's good but this last time I'm not sure what happened but something got pinched and it's all messed up. Have to get back in with him but just haven't had the time.

Keep yer head down man! I can sympathize as I have a crappy back and some minor neck problems too. Everything I do I have to measure in terms of how much it will hurt my back then and later.
Another super wkend. Emjoyed my day to be utterlly lazy. Left early but drive home wasn't as long as I thought it might be. thank goodness :)
Was nice to finally get to be out and away from the booth and wander with people today!

Had a fabulous second weekend all things considered. Still in love with the ex but can't be with him (hence the reason he's an ex) and still see him out there occasionally but found lots of distractions. It was good to see people too and I got time to wander away and visit and I bought a new shiny necklace though every time I tried to show it to people they kept asking "what necklace" for some reason... ;D

Speaking of pickles...
At risk of being pushed to John's Inn one of the gaming hall girls succeeded in making an Ethiopian man blush when she ate (i.e., deep throated) a corn dog from her cleavage. ::) He even gave one of the guys in our booth his phone number to give to her since he was too bashful to give it to her himself.

Groomporter! Oh my oh my! Perhaps you should paint the front door to your shop green! :D ;) Too funny!
