Calling all pirates, it's Buccaneer Beer Fest weekend. Time for the pirates to pillage the faire and ravish the wenches and just have a good ole time. This is the best weekend of our faire and we are looking forward to it, how about you?
Tom and I (or maybe I should say Captain Cin and her cabin boy :giggle: ) will be there Sunday and Monday! Looking forward to it!
There will also be a pirate olympics at the games area on saturday morning.
wont be there for that saturday.. wont be able to make it till sunday.. so will be around sunday and monday.
I may be there. It's tentative right now. The boyfriend may not be able to make it in which case I may hop down there by myself either Sunday or Monday. Hopefully.

Yeah, cuz you'd hate to screw it up and be known as the pirate that tried to woo the cattle, burn the women and steal the village!

Well, at least you aren't burning the women.
you never know lorf virgil.. you get enough ale/mead in you you might just be able to woo the castle.. gonna take lots o horses to steal the village though.. ;D
Rrrah, what about us female pirates? We can't woo the women. I say we take to village, steal the choclate, and have our pick of the men. ;D
LadyAnn, I would love to see you wooing the women. ;)
Sealclubber, LadyAnn is so much better at wooing the men, all she has to do is smile and bat those beautiful eyes of hers and they seem to follow her around every where!!!
Lady Gwyndolyn, you and LadyAnn both have smiles that can melt the hearts of men. The kinds of smiles that light up your entire face!
The Canadians are coming!!!!! Sir Gawain and Joy Bells Whoopee! *happy dance*
Safe travels to all this weekend!
I am a bit out of the loop as far as Labor Day Weekend events at MIRF goes. I will be out of town visiting my husband, but will hopefully be able to pop in either sunday afternoon or monday.
I am certain that if it isn't posted prior to the weekend, all meet and greet as well as other goings on, info can be found by stopping by and giving LadyFair a gentle hug!
Have a great weekend!!! And I hope to see many of you when I return!!
Have a safe trip and give Ivor a huge hug from all of us!

No clarification needed, our Captain Morgan promoted herself to Admiral Morgan!
Flidais -
We will miss you, but I know you'll have a good time without us!! ;-)
Have safe travels, and we'll see you when you return.
I suppose not, tho' if it were needed I could always sign off "Immortaly yours" ;D
I promise, really truly promise, that I will be at the meetup this weekend at some point. This, I avow!
Okay, once more with feeling (sorry, sewing and watching Buffy re-runs. Yes, it's sad) what time am I supposed to be where to meet people tomorrow? I swear I'm really, really, really going to try.
11:00 AM, Sat, Sun or Mon. Next to the chain mail shop by the troll's bridges.
Had a lot of fun on Sunday (Aug 31)
And it was a pleasure to meet so many RF people :) My highlight was being presented to Her Majesty, a very gracious and lovely lady!!
I let my daughter loose with the camera, and here are some of the hundreds of pictures she took:

We made it home safely. I dropped Athena off about an hour ago.
We both had a FANTASTIC time!
It was a wonderful weekend with friends old and new from near and far! :)
Never made it. Kept getting busy. Still met a lot of you and had a wonderful time!!!!!!
I am home and cannot stop smiling from all the wonderful memories of my weekend in Hollygrove. Ladyfaire and "the other half" went out of their way to create a welcoming corner at their shop for friends to stop by and meet and greet. It was so lovely to meet so many of you. Madge was right. Your realm is a very special place indeed. Be warned, I have had such a glorious time I may very well return next year! I have no photo's as I left my camera at home, so thank you thank you to everyone who did take pics!
I met Ladyfaire this weekend as well. It was nice to put a real face with an online acquaintance.
Jon.

Meeting you was one of the highlights of my weekend. I wish we could have sat and chatted for a while, but we have this forum and that will have to do us for a year!
Jon, I'm sorry I missed you. Ladyfaire spoke of meeting you and your family. In particular your daughters and how lovely they were. :)
Hey Abigale. it was such fun to meet you too. You all are so much fun to play with.
I know what you mean Nlidel, even with three days there was not enough time. You are all so nice up there.
Lady Ann! ((Hugs)) What a tour guide you are. The best. When do we get to see pictures? (Especially the ones of The Big Licker...hehehehe.
I just wanted to thank all of you for the wonderful hospitality we were shown. I continue to be impressed with the strong cast and the beauty of the village. The Queen (read Madge) carries Herself so regally and gracefully, that to spend a moment in Her presence truly makes one feel uplifted. I hope the people of Hollygrove know how lucky they are to have someone who commands the role of Elizabeth with such presence, tempered with a caring touch.
The Guinness Pub is fabulous and friendly. Vendors... well, ask them for my opinion as they have all my money LOL! What I enjoyed most was the street interaction. We had a fun and memorable time thanks to all of you!
We had a great time and enjoyed meeting the other RF folk. Hope to see some of you (Lady Hawk and Anna at ORF and Barf) and we loved meeting all of you, Hollygrove enjoyed entertaining our fellow rennies and hope you return soon.
Wow...what a weekend! I want to thank the Hollygrove regulars from the bottom of my heart for such a warm welcome, especially Ladyfair and Lady Ann. Everyone was so friendly - cast, playtrons, and vendors; I felt right at home instantly, especially at the Guinness Pub! ;D
The weekend flew so fast, as did my money. I bought some gorgeous things, and will be eating Ramen noodles for the next three months! *grin*
I would love to return again this season though chances at this point are slim. MIRF is definitely on my itinerary for next year!
This weekend was sooooo much FUN!
It was my pleasure showing all of our new friends around our beloved Hollygrove. I just wish you all could be with us for the remainder of our season at MiRF.
I hoping that we all can meet up again for ORF's final weekend in October.
Until we meet again! ((Hugs))

I'm nice, Serena is a man-stealing hussy who shames women who show their ankles. I swear I would never once do any of that in real life. I'm just so Italian in that roll. I can see myself getting irritated and tossing plates around. :)
As always....good times, laughter and fellowship were found with our friends in Hollygrove! (as well as dust galore!) Such fellowship make it all the harder to come back to work, alas...but I hope to see some of you mayhaps at ORF or MDRF before our season comes to the end.

I had no idea about the dust, prior to arriving! Half way through the day, I looked down and saw my once shiny red undersirt, had a greyish tinge to it. When I took it off later on, back at the car, my legs and hoopskirt were covered in dirt. Once home, I just hung each piece of the outfit on the clothesline, and hosed it all down. The water was almost black :)
aitn faire dust great, lol.. but you forgot the 30 minutes or so it takes to get it all out of your nose... but if i ever win the lotto i woud show up with a dumptruck full of wood chips and ask f i could line the walkways.
Ah but woodchips present their own issues, my good sir. Heinously stabbing being the big one.

Oh Captain my Captain,
As always was such a pleasure to see you and we are so glad that you made it home safe and sound. Though I did miss seeing your little friends that use to ride around on your hat! They would make me laugh just seeing them. It was so good to have some time to chat with you before being rushed off to work. I always know that it is going to be a good day when I see you there!! Huge hugs to you and yours and we hope that we don't have to wait another year before we get a chance to see you again!!
Dear Lady!
Again, the heartfelt gratitude back to you for making us feel so welcome in your Shire and...I'm sorry if you mayhaps missed Sod on my hat and Tipsy & The Crew on Dwyn's hat....but they were there...unless they chose that time to abandon the hat and scamper off on their own skullduggery...I wouldn't put it past those "Pyrats"! Still....as I said, always a wonderful time visiting up north seeing old friends and making new. I too hope our paths cross before a year has passed by but we never know what The Fates hold, so till then, I cherish the times spent with you all in Hollygrove!
Till then, I remain yours....

Hey folks, finally got to downloading my pix from laborday wknd. Had a blast as usual and very much enjoyed the company of some very interesting people. This is the dutchman of course, sporting his new pipe and mug and looking cool as a cucumber on a very hot day. How does he do it?

As a Pirate myself, I only wish I was 1/2 as cool as the Dutchman. He is the greatest! His charm with the ladies, and his ability to make kids smile is second to none. Not bad for a 375+ year-old Sea Scoundrel!
Only 375+ years? A mere babe in the woods! ;)
Immortaly yours,
Captain Morgan
