Horribly dusty year at MNRF. We started hosing down the street in front of our booth since the grass was all gone after the first weekend, but it only lasts part of the morning. I'm
almost tempted to put some cheap vegetable oil in a hand-pumped garden sprayer and try that. I know they use a soybean oil byproduct on gravel roads.
The dust was bad.
If you do spray make sure you do it say mid week or you will have patrons dragging it into your shop...
Yeah, I suppose it would make our brick floor slippery.
Can't you and the guard encampment figure out a way to have a water battle sometime in the afternoon?
Yeah, ewww dust. In my eyes, in my mug... oh well, better than rain!

I agree... The dust is bad this year, but WAY better than rain!!! Rain = Mud, Mud = cold wet feet!!
I am hoping we get some rain on Wednesday/Thursday. It would cut down on the dust for the weekend and be dry before the weekend.
I have been sneezing for several days now. hate that.
When I took my contacts out, they were brown. Gross!
Yeah the dust has been something this year. But a bad day of dusty fest is better than a sun shiny day of work. Unless of course fest is your work, then that's a whole other story.
it's particularly nasty dust too.
I swear, it might be easier to vacuum my gowns than wash them.
While I love the weather this year, I took until this morning for me blow my nose and not have the tissue black afterwards. ....that goes for my ears as well.
With the forecast showing rain mid-week and not so high temps on friday....*crosses fingers, knocks on wood, throws salt over shoulder* hopefully the ground will still be a little damp for saturday.
I've been finding it hard to keep my throat moist with all of the dust. Maybe I should talk less....

Maybe you need a neti pot to clean out that nose. I saw Regis and Kathy Lee demonstrating them on TV yesterday I think. Just about lost my breakfast.
See if they put up those mist showers, it would keep us cool and help cut down on the dust.

I think I will refrain from commenting in the way most of us would have.

I sometimes have problems with my
mouth, no...
tongue....words! That's it! I have problems with my words....
I just got my boots cleaned from opening weekend - they were unbelievably dusty! And yes, it always takes a few days to get the nose and ears clean too.
That reminds me, I need to wash my ghillies....again... (they're still dirty from closing weekend last year!)
oh yes, much dust this year!
Still beats the slippery mud of last year! ;D
I would like just a light, quick splash of water over the ground just before opening and then nice warm days. Is that really too much to ask? It disturbs me when I can see the beams of light shining around buildings because of the dust. At least the booth next door waters our dirt before cannon.
Keep it period. Use urine Groomporter to keep the dust down. If you need help, let me know. I keep a full bladder at fest most days.
Well, we got some rain in Mpls last night/this morning... hopefully the Fest grounds got some too, and that will help tame the dust...

Just trying to help... ;)
Our campground director sent out an email that we got heavy rainfall yesterday down at site (email was to inform that some tents were down). Lets all cross everything we got that the grounds remain relatively wet for the weekend...but not too wet!
...PS: Crossing something of yours with someone elses something doesn't count. ...I'm not saying don't do it of coarse!

Watch out for that tree. You could end up walking into poor Fitz in his cage.

Now running into Fitz in his cage I would do on purpose. It's those dang trashcans you have to worry about! Especially at night. Tricky little buggers!
