Title: Food & Drink at MNRF!
Post by: Will Gamwell on September 03, 2008, 01:11:15 PM
So what are your favorite foods and drinks at MNRF?  Any new finds this year?

A few of mine.

Food:
Soup in a breadbowl
Southwest Chipotle Burritos (over by the stocks)
Scotch Eggs - Sad to say, but just tried them this year.
Crepes (just across from the Mead Booth)
Smoralicious - wonderful death by chocolate & marshmallow.  Deepfried and about the size of an eggroll.  (Found at Battered Onion booths)

Drink:
Mead - OF COARSE!
Coffee & various drinks from Tillies Bean
Apple Cider Float = Apple Cider with cinnimon ice cream (found at Queen's Apples)

There is one that I have yet to try from Tillies Bean.  Pixie Punch.  Carbonated water with four possible flavors.  Rose, Jasmine, Lavender...and the fourth I can't remember.

Food:

Spinach Pie, Roast Boar, Gelato, Scotch Eggs

Drink:

Cold Pressed Coffee from Antonia's Teas

That's pretty much the list of what I've purchased for edibles this year. I eat breakfast at Bad Manor, a late lunch at Bakery and then go out for dinner after cannon.

Mmmm, I love the scotch eggs. I'm also a big fan of the Greek food, AND the YOGURT PARFAIT!! I was so excited that they have that this year! Also like the cinnamon twists and Trollhouse chocolate chip cookies.

Iced or hot coffee from Tillie's, lemonade from Fest Friends :). I'm going to have to try that apple cider float, Rafe. Sounds delicious!!

I forgot about the Greek Food!  Gyros are a norm for me, and the hummus platters are a fav among the troupe.

I blame Tim (the guy in the trash can) for the new apple cider float addiction.  It's all his fault!

Chipotle  Burrito...My favorite food at 'fest!
Tilapia  Sandwich
Chicken and Chips
Bread Bowl Soup
Cheese Curds

Drink...

Whatever is in my flask!..

Cheese curds, apple dumplings with ice cream, fish and chips, Bavarian Nutmaker and to drink Mead of course.

It's been a while since I've spent much time at MNRF, I'm looking forward to becoming re-acquainted with the place and seeing what's new in the past few years.  I used to have the chocolate wildberry cake/ice cream/fruit concoction for lunch every day, sure missed it when the booth turned over.

The cheese curds are always a good bet, as was the panini/wrap I tried, cheddar soup in a bread bowl, and crepes.  Drinks - mead or cider!

Tried the "beef on weck" this past Sunday.  Very nice!  At the same place as popovers (which is also tasty and cheap!)

I can't help but be a sucker for the Turkey legs. I love the smoke taste they have to them. Do they actually smoke them cook on charcoal, gas?
