The Wonerous, wild and wanton Wenches of IWG Local 57 are back again...
;D
This is the most fun you can have with a sponge!
[/b] ;D
...well.... in public, anyhow.
By popular demand, we're back with DRENCH A WENCH this weekend, at the Dueling Buckets Stage (
across from the Jail - next to the Special Events tent).
As always,
ALL proceeds go directly to the Susan G Komen for the Cure foundation, to fund Breast Cancer Research. Our time, supplies and enthusiasm are generously donated by the
targets Wenches.
Please join us for a bit of soggy fun this weekend and help us fight to keep full the bodices of wenches and ladies everywhere!
More Details to follow - Check your Broadsheet when you arrive at MiRF for Showtimes. Woud YOU miss a chance to drench your favorite Wench? ;D
I hate wet, so I will be no where near you, but have fun. I will donate a portion of my tips to you both days. Don't get excited. I don't make a lot in tips. ;D

Damn, I'm going to miss this show again. Last year was so much fun drenching you lovely wenches. :D Can you do on the weekend of the 27th and 28th too, I'll certainly want to drench a wench again. :)
I am so glad...I was justing asking about this yesterday :D

It's the thought that counts, luv!
I'm going to see if I can con the Shire's newest Wench into sitting in for a few tosses. Start crossing your fingers now. I think I'll need a bit of extra charm (and seriously mad Madame-like skillz) for this one. ;D
So, friends...how much would you pay to soak our lovely Poo Bah?
Or Mother Superior?
Or my smelly, rotten, evil Sister Mary Jane?
You may get your chance this weekend!
Don't forget, SOAK A BLOKE, we contribute too.
What happens if it rains like it is supposed to this weekend?
What time is the event?
I'm more then willing to lend my hawking support as in years previous, if needed.
This could be a good photo event eh? :P
Jon.

Of course it could be!!
Times, as of right now are to be announced as soon as things get settled. If you don't see a time listed here, check your broadsheet for when we will be having it.
Cateyes - if it rains, I believe we will still be having it. Basically will be a judgement call at that time.

Ahem, I have ice cream every day with Mary Jane and she does not smell. Snort.
I would pay a lot to drench MS. She better run.

Ice cream deadens your sense of smell. This is surely proof. :D

What time is the event?
/runs in, pantingI've just been informed of the showtimes:
DAW (and maybe SAB) will begin at
3:15 PM ON BOTH SAT AND SUN THIS WEEKEND.
If you'd like to help out, find Stella at the Guinness Pub, and volunteer. We will probably need all the help we can get, folks!
Hopefully, we don't all get rained out.
/crossing fingers
Everyone was drenched. Muddy too.
"DRENCH A WENCH - THIS WEEKEND!" Drench a Lord, Drench a Dog, Drench Everything! Wow! Unbelievable rain!
Did they even try to hold this fundraiser or will it be rescheduled for another weekend?
To be honest, I don't know. It was so muddy, I stayed in the 100 area and didn't even bother to head back. I know someone will post. I do know the faire closed early yesterday.
:'(
Sadly, the only drenching of wenches was by Mother Nature this weekend. It was called off both days.
;D
Happily, we're having a 'Make up game' this coming Saturday - Sept 20th at 3:15 PM. At this point, I am going to say it's going to be at the same place, Deuling Buckets stage. If that changes, I'll post it here.
Right now it's Saturday ONLY, so this may well be your last chance to play.
If we have enough volunteers of the Hunky Male pursuasion, we can have a few rounds of Soak A Bloke -- but we'll have to see what's do-able on Saturday.
If anyone is interested, we'll be thankful to have sponge runners and hawkers. ;)
Mother Nature had her own Drench a Wench in mind ;)
Yeah - but she stiffed us on the donations for that drenching!! :D
This way we get to play with people who will give us money!!!!!!
It was a heck of an odd weekend. That's for sure.

I think she covered every wench in the Midwest from Texas on up this weekend!
Thorough bint, that Mother Nature! ;D
My roses and lawn look lovely, on the other hand.
And I would actually say, after last weekend, that Mother Nature is a moistened bint.
Maybe we can create a new event for weekend like this:
Muddy a Buddy!
(runs and hides...)
Ooooo, I was a damp tramp!!! (my ankles were showing).
Greetings, Kind and Gentle Folk!!
Just a reminder that we'll be Drenching Wenches to fight breast cancer AGAIN
this SATURDAY 9/20 at 3:15 PM at the Dueling Buckets...area (stage or no stage!)
Our Prop-Wench, Barbaraellen (aka da Mayor's sister)has been crafty
and is offering a limited edition favor for the first people in line to toss a sponge.
Please note that this will very likely be the LAST CHANCE to play DAW for this season. I hope to see all our lovely local characters (cast and non cast alike - you're ALL characters!) turn out and have a good time. DAW is always a fun event.
Many MANY thanks in advance for all your support!

Did anyone get any pictures? I missed it. By the time I got to the stage (at 3:30) the next event was getting ready to start. :'(
Jon.
nope i did not get any
Yep, it was a short show on Sunday.
But rest assured - we will be back next year for another exciting run. :-*
The last minute move to the Washing Well stage was a bit of a hurdle, but we persevered well enough. ;D
but AYE, as Maggie says, we'll be back next year with buckets and sponges and willing wenches. :-*
