Is Friday open to everyone or just School kids? Never been on one of these Fridays and the website just lists:
Students (Grades 7 - 12)
Child (Grades 1 - 6)
School Chaperon
Friday is open to all, but it's a lot more subdued (due to all the kids). The wife and I made it last year and had a lot of fun messing with all the kids (especially me in my Pirate garb), but we're short handed at work so I can't get the day off to go Friday.

Thank you! I may just have to go and give it a try this year.
Does the faire open at 10:00 AM on Friday? I put flyers in everyone's mail boxes at work/school in hopes a class or two would want to go. But I haven't heard back from anyone. Maybe I'll go into work late on Friday or leave early. Hmm...
Jon.
Yes, it opens up at 10:00, but closes at 4:00... If I remember correctly from last year.
Actually we're going a full day this year til 7
So come on up and talk like a pirate till a full 7pm. Certain, very loud and brave posters are correct.
Btw, doing a puppet show by yourself is the single bravest thing I've seen at the faire. I was most impressed.

Weeee! I thought I was going to miss. *Happy dance*
I talked to a lady at the MichRenFest office this morning and she said the faire was open 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM on Friday. She also said the faire is being extended one more weekend to make up for the rain this weekend. I need to call back tomorrow morning about something else so I'll ask again about the extra weekend this year.
Jon.
Jon, hold your horses on that. *IF* that is happening the official announcement has not been made yet.
Maria, or some other in-charge type will make any announcements about this tomorrow, if it's happening. Right now it's a tad premature according to Debra, our promotions manager. She said she'd mail me in the morning if it was happening, so I could blog about it.
Until then, it's mere speculation.
NOOOOOOOO!
Honestly? I think it'd be a bad idea if they did. Not only would they be running over onto the same time schedule as the new faire, but a lot of boothies and entertainers have some pretty strict schedules, due at another faire as soon as the previous one closes etc...
I agree... Our booth has a show right after this one... The last weekend there won't be full stock because it will all be at another faire anyway.... It just doesn't sound like a smashing idea.

That's very true allot of vendors and performers have other gigs, the only reason I see for Peterson to add another weekend is for Hollywood's movie wanting time for background shots, this will benefit him not others.
The word has officially come down, there will be an extra weekend the third and fourth to make up for the rained out weekend. Any questions should be directed to faire management, which I am not and don't want to be.

Serena scoops up jaw and offers spirits and smelling salts.
She is a lady, after all.
Okay, I'm a hootchie, but a nice hootchie.
Thank you, M'lady Nliedel. This doth mean, howe'er, thou shalt find thine without escort from myself to Her Most Royal Majesty, as Matters of State doth bind me to the Southern Shire following this Decree from On High.
I shall indeed miss the opportunity to meet both old friends and new this year, and hope we can look forward to visitors in Fittlesworth this coming Spring, or, mayhaps, I shall endeavor to visit you all again next season.
Until then, Fairfax, I Challenge you to Conduct the Pavane, at Ludicrous Speed!

Whilst Fairfax looks to be in charge of the Pavane, it's really Mother Superior. I round that corner during nunsuch and she has a glint in her eye that truly puts the fear of God into me.
In that case, let Mother Superior know that her puppet contains an inclination to a Speedy Pavane. ;)
I will be there on Friday - taking my grandkids! ARRRRR!
This sucks that I have to work today, I would much rather be harassaing Grandparents and their grandkids than here. GRRRRRRR!!!
Last year, we were waiting outside the gate for the faire to open, and a little girl wouldn't let her grandma get a picture. I walked up in my Pirate garb, drew my gun, and told her she was going to get shot one way or another, either by a camera or with my pistol, and it was here choice. She promptly turned around and grandma got the picture, it was great fun!!
What a great day! Weather was perfect and I really enjoyed this "School Days" day. It's perfect day for leisurely strolling the vendor booths and talking (and making new friends) with them all. Not having the typical crush of people really made it a different type of atmosphere. (However, I ended up spending waaaaaaaay too much $.) Just a really nice day and the school kids really seemed to be enjoying themselves. Hopefully these days will make a lasting impression on the kids and they'll become regulars when they get older, or even become artisans, performers and the like.
