Title: Shopping Pass
Post by: Eric of Lyon on September 16, 2008, 01:24:36 PM
Has anyone hear heard of the shopping pass? For those that haven't I thought you may find this interesting and useful...

If you go to the Box Office Will Call window and ask them for a shopping pass, they will sell you a ticket (a ticket is still required to get in). As long as you purchase an item and return to the box office within an hour, they will refund you the cost of your ticket.

The above information came from the Renaissance Festival office via phone.

I wanted to pick up an item from one of the vendors this weekend, but my only opportunity would be this Friday.  And, I'm not sure I can get the day off or not. If not, I wanted to zip by the festival to make my purchase, but didn't want to spend the money on a full day's pass just to go in, buy an item and leave.  So, I called the Festival office to see if they had a system in place for a case such as mine, and, lo and behold, they do!  Very cool!

Interesting. I was thinking about doing this on my way home from work Friday (to look at the boots). But I'm sure once I get in, I'd end up walking around and talking to everyone until they kicked me out.

that's actually a pretty cool idea.  It gives people a chance to come back and get that item they didn't buy the first time without having to spend the price of a ticket on top of it.  The vendors should mention that at the shops, so people on the fence or who didn't have the money that day know they could come back and not have to pay for admission.
