Title: Hoops Help
Post by: Lady Rae on September 19, 2008, 07:34:29 AM
Ok...when I wear just my hoops...they hang fine...

When I add a layer....the tip to the back........I'm not sure why...

Any thoughts?  Remidies?

Somtimes, if you cover your hoops first with a good petticoat before you put on your dress, it will help weight them down so they don't tip.  If they tip towards the back, the front of your dress might not be wide enough or is too heavy.. so you want to try and balance things. I make petticoats by purchasing king sized whhite cotton bedskirts at the thrift store, with nice ruffles on them, and cutting and sewing them, adding elastic for a waistband, into a simple petticoat.  It prevents the dreaded lampshade effect, too - where the bones of your hoop show through your fashion garment! :D
