A week ago my boss gave me a heads up that there was a good possibility of my getting laid off. It was an understandable thing, the company is slow, and there is less and less work for me to do.
Today, I got the final word that in two weeks, my position would be terminated. I figured she was gonna give me my two week notice about halfway through the month, not this soon...
At least I had a bit of warning, so I've already been tweaking my resume, looking, and applying for work... I even got a call back today for something I applied to last week, so I think I might fare well through this disruption... Time will tell though, and I'll be sure to keep y'all posted.
Killian - I'm very sorry to hear this!! I will keep my fingers crossed that you find a job very soon!
That bites....sorry to hear that Killian...
Sorry to hear this Killian!! Being laid off sucks!! Many of us went through that this last year, myself included!!

Given the lovely state of the economy I fear more of us may be going down the same path...hope it works out good for you. Sign up for unemployment ASAP. For what it's worth Minnesota actually has a decent jobs program available to anyone, lots of good listings even for proffesional levels. Worth a shot. Good Luck!
Sorry to hear this, Killian. Hope your recent lead comes through.
Ug, that bites. At least you got a heads up?
Thanks for all the well wishes!
Things are looking up already! I had a pre-interview this morning on the phone, and go in for a more formal interview with the location manager. Wish me luck!
Keep us up to date.......good luck!
I even sought refuge again in Collections after fruitless search so good luck and fair wind to you in your search.
Sorry to hear this news, hon. I am sure you will find something soon. Will this hasten your return home? Or perhaps you can find something that will transfer here?
It likely won't hasten my return to MN as part of my reason for staying here a while is to pay off some outstanding debt and try to get ahead a bit, but I suppose if I get a ridiculously well paying job I can accomplish those ends sooner... Though, if I get said job, it might entice me to stay out here longer... :p
