So I got curious today as I heard on the radio station that gas in Denver was now $2.99 a gallon. It's $3.13 at the cheap in my town with most being $3.23 and 2.5 hours north of me it's $2.31 in Wheatland Wyo.
It always upsets me to see gas at one Gas station $.05 to $.15 higher at another less than 1/4 mile away or at the same chain 1 mile4 away.
So what is gas in your area?
Rumor says oil could drop to $40 a barrel, Do you think we the consumer will see prices below $2.00?
And since the stocks are falling I think this just shows the Fed's that speculators are helping drive up the cost.
Chime in and post prices in your area and what you think is driving up/down the cost of oil.

To be on-topic, I think the Kroger by me was at $2.89 when I passed it this morning. What I wanted to mention is that I see this all the time. There is almost always a significant difference between gass by my house and gas down the road. If the difference is enough, I will drive down to the cheaper gas, or plan my route so I pass it on the way home.
Yep, I saw 2.89 at a few places this morning. When I'm getting low on gas I watch the prices at all the stations on my route. There can easily be a 20 cent difference within a 15 mile radius...
I don't understand all the complaining- the gas I got for $4 a gallon was sooo much better than this cheap $3 stuff.
The cheapest I've seen around here (Syracuse, NY) is about 3.35/gal, and sadly enough, that was quite exciting for me. :-\
$2.69/gal
One of the reasons gas is plunging is the same reason it went up...the dollar is gaining strength in the world monetary market. Gas, no matter who buys it, is purchased in dollars. When the buck is strong gas is cheap, when it's weak it costs more.
Gas would have been even less in my area but they increased the tax something like 6 cents/gal.
Well, I'm glad it's comming down, it was going to cost me about $350 dollars in gas to drive down to TRF. As of to day gas droped 8 cents here in East Arkansas, Forrest City / Wynne area I-40 to Memphis 2.91 a gal. and E85 is 2.39.
Can anybody tell me what the price of gas is in Huntsville TX. Thats were I stop to fill up on my way in to TRF?
I was excited to see $2.69 here in Jersey today! ;D I hope it continues to drop!
I'm seeing $2.89 too, but I live in pretty much the same area as Aiacha. Gas seems to be more expensive along major roads and waaaay out in the boonies.
Never thought I would think of $2.89 gas as "cheap". I remember getting upset over having to pay $1.50.
Gas in Dubuque, IA where I work is $2.85. In the Walmart in Galena, IL, if you use their card, it's 3 cents off, and the sign shows $2.85, so that would make it $2.82. However, 1 block down the street, in a regular gas station (not connected to Walmart), the price is $3.14. That is a difference of 32 cents per gallon! Something is definitely wrong here. ???
I'll take that $2.85 and even pay $3.00 for it. The best I've found lately in Mooresville, NC lately was $3.85.
Here in Oklahoma City I have seen $2.31 per gallon.
It's $3.16 in Smyrna just south of Nashville. This just a few weeks after the gas Panic where most places were $4.29 and even as high as $4.49.
$2.82 here
$3.09 is the lowest in St. Augustine. Prices are ranging from $3.09 (sold out) to $3.49.
2.49 I'm filling up in the morning
i range from about $3.15 to $3.30 on my commute
BTW
www.gaspricewatch.com
$3.39 at my house and $3.23 where I work ... 20 miles away.
Dallas area ranges from $2.89 to $3.19. North of Dallas in the Denton and Gainesville area, right off I35, I saw $2.65 over the weekend.
Capt Marga
$2.58 as of this morning.
last time i filled my tank, it was like $3.40/gal.
Haven't been watching prices for the last couple of days, but when I last filled up (couple of days ago) it was $3.47 and that was quite cheap.
I'm in the greater-Seattle area.
I am quite jealous of all you people who can get it for $2.xx

I deal with a bunch of people in seattle all the time, most of them hate the fuel costs and thus take the bus or the chevro-legs to work.
In Chicago, I've seen it around $3.70. In the nearby suberbs where I work I've seen it around $3.40. Of course, that was this morning...
Austin,Texas $2.40 - 2.89
Andover, Minnesota $2.65
St. Louis Park.. $2.75..
Filled my tank up for under 30$ today for the first time in a LONG time!! Yay!!! ;D
It's supposed to go down to $3 here.
$2.97 in Dothan, AL... But saw some for 2.39 in SC off I-85 on Monday.
$3.49 this morning.
I'm in the SF Bay Area, though. EVERYTHING is expencive.
I saw a place this morning that knocks 20 cents off the cost of a gallon if you get the Works Car Wash with your fuel purchase, knocking the cost per gallon to an AMAZING $2.49 per gallon.
When I left work today, (I work at a Walmart), our gas was down to $2.75/gal. I'm almost excited to buy gas when I get paid tomorrow. Our store and the Kroger across the street always have the cheapest gas in town (I live in a reeeally small town), but since Walmart has the 3cents off gas card, I buy from there. =D
Holy crap! $2.57 today! Only thing falling faster is the value of my 401K!
I saw mid-grade fuel for $2.62 today here in the Des Moines area. Mid-grade is cheaper than regular here..... not sure what regular is going for though. We've been buying the E-85 and found it to be almost $1.00 cheaper when gas was close to $4/gal.
Three Diamond Shamrocks/Valero all within about 3 miles. One was $3.05, one was 3.09 and the last $3.13 but the cheapest was a Western Gas which is independant at $2.97
I've seen it as low as $3.01 and was told it was $2.94 at walmart.
Got it yesterday for 2.65 ;D
Today I saw super unleaded going for $2.53 at the Kum & Go.
I saw $2.99 at the mom and pop's up the street from campus today. Woot.
$2.49 this morning.
You people are making me hate California even more. Cheapest I've seen within 40 miles of home is $3.19. All the places actual near home are still over $3.25
Yesterday we bought E-85 (we have been for a couple of months now) and we paid $1.97/gal. It was great.... less than $40 to fill up!
$2.15 for regular unleaded earlier this week (a minor price-war because of the new Wal-Mart station) but it's up to around $2.21 now. Surrounding communities are at $2.35 as of yesterday.
I saw it yesterday in Plymouth for $2.45!
Just saw super unleaded going for $2.35 tonight :o.
Saw it at $2.39 on the drive home tonight. And of course I just filled up the other day when it was $2.55... :P
$2.89 around here.
It is now at $2.69 in some places here. Woohoo!!!
I saw $2.39 as well this morning. Of course I filled up at $2.45... ::)
$2.60 at Sam's Club in College Station on Saturday, $2.80-something in Houston on the NW loop and Navasota on Friday night and Saturday night, respectively. It beats $4/gallon for sure, but I do miss the days of $1 or less.
$2.67 FINALLY in my hometown. $2.91 up to $2.99 just outside and in Nashville.
$2.77 in ye old Maryland.
$2.32 on the way home! I hope this is a continuing trend!
I filled up yesterday near Dayton Ohio at $2.49 a gal.
King Soppers I paid $2.689 with my sooper card otherwise it was $2.789, Down the road 1 mile at Diamond Shamrock it was $2.799 a mile down from that at Western $2.759 1.5 miles from that at another diamond shamrock it was $2.799 and then 1.5 miles east of that at yet another Diamond SHamrock it was $2.819
$2.54 At Sam's Club in College Station last night. A Shell station in downtown Bryan was $2.55 this morning, so Sam's is probably down, again.
Might as well fill 'er up now though- saw a news article online yesterday saying that OPEC is planning to bend us over the barrel again (unfortunate pun intended).
$2.29 this morning.
$2.99 most places around me (Hickory, NC region). I think I saw one for $2.89 maybe?

$2.59 and falling in Odenton, MD.
I found gas today for $2.39, I'm glad it's finally going down. Houma, LA
The Walmart at Beltway 8 just north of 59 South (southwest Houston) is $2.26 but in Richmond, TX, just 15 miles west, it is $.30 higher! ???
I paid $2.69 per gallon of Regular this AM at a Shell Station in Humble, roughly 30 miles Northeast of Houston.
I paid $2.69 today here in Wesley Chapel, HUZZAH! ;D

$2.21
2.37 at wallyworld this morning
$2.53. Still not what I wish it'd be, but hey, I don't have to offer up an arm/leg/or firstborn anymore. :)
$2.52 on the eastside of Indianapolis
Ok.... saw super unleaded at the Kum & Go today for $2.19! I truly hope that it continues to go down but even more I hope that it will stay down. Sadly, I feel that after the elections it will go back up... I just pray that I'm wrong.

2.36 in Laurel, Md. today ;D
$2.19
Its cheap enough to require different jets in the carb between summer and winter blends. A lot of fuel injected vehicles toss up an engine check light cause the computer can't compensate for that much added ethanol.
Price wise anywheres from $2.70 to $3.20. No apparent rhyme or reason to it.
$2.15 today! And with a coupon for $.16 off/gal., that put it at $1.99 for me today... ;D
Thats cheap. We finally got to 2.52.
Can't wait to see what the E-85 price is.
Isn't it amazing how greed driven the speculative market oil industry is (was).
$2.41 today in Houston.
Just topped off the tank in Bonham (TX, which is up near the Red River, near Sherman) $2.11 at Walmart. On the way home from there back to Mesquite saw nothing lower than $2.31.
Capt Marga
It is still running anywhere between 2.75 to 2.55 a gallon here in North Alabama.About a month ago it was 4.99 a gallon in some places and allot of places had run out. It had one thinking about filling up the tank by way of lay-away, of course that was before the credit crunch... ;D all of which will be on my mind when I go to vote.
$2.15, and the price of oil is still dropping.
Saw 2.25 at a few stations on my way to work. It's nice to be able to fill my tank for $20 again!! ;D
$1.99 in San Antonio
I heard it on the radio this morning, didn't actually witness it.
Saw 2.09 on the way home from faire last night though so I have no doubts it was true.
*I have extra money for rum!*
No fair, we are still at $2.75 inside the DC beltway
The BP next door to my apartment has their Silver grade gas at $2.09. I can't wait to see what E-85 is at.
$2.11 when I left work today, which means $2.08 with a gift card!

1.99!!! You suck... LOL.. Well, since you really didn't witness it, I take it back. We hit 2.42 since the 2.52 on the 26th. Let it keep falling. Even though I have a Toyota Hybrid getting just over 50mpg, it will be way less to top it off. Every little bit helps.
$2.09 this morning. ;D
I can't help but think about those sales car dealerships were offering for several years of gas for $2.00 or $2.50 a gallon. Something inside me told me gas couldn't keep at the $4 mark but looking back I'm sure anybody who bought into that are probably baffled right now.
Northern MD gas is currently $2.30. Hubby says we're going to bottom out around the $2.00 mark.
Gas is probably going to be on the upswing soon whether or not oil goes up.
A lot of people working in refineries along the gulf coast have lost everything and are getting no help from FEMA, the SBA or their insurance companies. http://www.chron.com
Already refineries are cutting back production due to lack of employees, some of whom are being forced to give up and go elsewhere to look for a place to live.
A lot of people think it was just houses that were damaged but it was a lot of hotels and apartments also.
$2.09 at Walmart in SW Houston at the Beltway.
$2.29 @ Wally World on the eastside of Indianapolis
$2.33 @freestate in Laurel, Md.
$1.98 in Springfield, MO.

$2.34
Seems to have balanced at $2.65 where I am (Morganton, NC).
We're down to $1.94 today.
The Kum & Go was down to $1.97.... pray that it keeps going down and stays that way.
Wow! Under $2.00 a gallon. Who would of imagined this a couple months ago.
I paid $2.29 yesterday, here in La Grange, TX. Lowest I've seen it in long time! I actually filled up my truck for less than $58.00! Woo Hoo!!! ;D
The outskirts of Charlotte, NC seem to be in the 2.49-2.69 range, with a 10-15 cent jump if you go down into south carolina.
I saw 1.97 yesterday at a Kroger in the northern suburbs of Houston. Never thought I'd see it below $2/ gallon again. I know the gas prices are lower because the economy sucks (I read an analogy somewhere that this is sort of like losing a whole bunch of weight...because you're sick), but it sure does make life easier for those folks who can now afford to drive to work. Hopefully the food prices that were driven up by the high gas prices will start coming back down too.
I saw in the Charlotte Observer today it's running $1.99 in Union County, SC which is just south of the NC/SC border! HUZZAH!!!!!!
Eastside Indianapolis. $1.93 then with my gas card $1.90...Unbelievable!
I saw $1.92 today.

:( Well it looks like the prices are starting to go back up here in Des Moines. I just heard on the news that mid-grade gas jumped up 12 cent this morning :o .
Guess that since the elections are over we'll start seeing the prices raising again >:( .
Still hovering just below $2/gal here.
Steady at $1.89
$1.99
Just dropped to 2.29 near the house, saw 2.23 across town
Finally at 2.04
$1.94, just went down this morning
$1.85 this morning.
$2.069 with my Sooper card without the $.10 cent discount. It would have been $1.999 with the discount.
HUM Funny how gas was about this price when GW Bush took over and now that he is leaving it's back to a tolerable price. Ever think of that?
$1.91 this morning. I filled my car up for $24 even then did the happy dance at 6:30am. :)
$1.86 in south Jersey!!! YEY!!! ;D
$1.99 at only one station in town. The rest are still at $2.19. They're really squeezing blood out of a turnip. *sheesh*
One thing that's maddening is that gasoline is sometimes more expensive here in Houston, where quite a lot of it is made. ::)

Gas is around $1. 85 here. Western KY.
$1.93 in "inner city" (East Lake Street) Minneapolis.
Love the discounts that we earn shopping at Cub Foods that are usable at Holiday stations. You can use up to three coupons at one time on the first 12 gallons. We average around $.20/gallon off every couple of weeks.
$1.95
Noticed it was down from $2.09 to $1.99 driving through town. That means King soopers is about $1.89 or less a gallon with Sooper Card.
Up makes me scratch my head. Gas prices go up when Bush enters office, drops back down when he leaves. Things that make you go HUMMMMMMM!
Well, it certainly took long enough but we finally reached $1.98 a gallon at one of the super markets and it even made the news. LOL...

But gas is purchased on speculation, so the rise/fall is off by several days, always. The 20 cent hike is ridiculous, but better than 50 cents or more...
