there was some discussion a while back about a certain card game that many of us have played, or are still playing (Magic). I thought it would be fun to relearn it. So how about my place sunday 10/19/2008 sometime after noon. I was thinking of grilling hot dogs. You can all bring over your newly bottles mead too ;D ...and no I'm not playing card for card, I suck too bad. But it would be nice for some of us to learn from the better of some of you out there.
Sounds cool! Never did learn that one unfortunately...and I'll be doing a different form of nerding that day. ;D ;D ;D ;D
Card board cocaine?
free for all, or just most recent expansion? (I think I stopped buying during the Ice Ages expansion)
Well I bought mine back in 1997 I think so thats all I have. I have to dig out the shoe box, hopefully I can still find them :o
Hmmm. Sounds intriguing... I may have to dust off some decks. Ill need to make sure my list of things to do is complete first though
ok curiosity got me...
what the heck are you all talking about?....
I was wondering the very same thing. ???
Magic the gathering....its a card game.
Hmmmm..... still got nothing... ;)

Magic the Gathering is a collectible card that brings geekhood to a new level.
http://www.wizards.com/magic/ (http://www.wizards.com/magic/)
That clears it up. Thanks!
I had to have "World of Warcraft" described to me, I'm so out of the loop. ;D
hee hee.. I guess my geekhood doesn't quite measure up... :D
and just so I can say it...
You all better tuck that in... your geek is showing... :-*
Can we do it again in November when I get back? I still have all my decks, from Alpha to somesuch expac I can't recall. They're all still sorted into decks, rdy to go, just like that ancient Chinese army.
Oh Geez... I so don't remember how to play this at all. I have cards somewhere about here so if I can find them I may make it! I also have a ton od D&D Minis if anyone would be interested in trying that. I remember how to play that one! And I have enough minis for 2-4 people! Just a thought.
Just to show how much of a geek I really am, you have an apostrophe malfunction in the subject line.
I am of course interested :D
If I had more time to plan, would love to do this, but can't. My inlaws are coming into town that day, so I'm out. Been itching to play for quite some time too. :-\
If I knew where my cards were & I was closer I'd say count me in, I know i've got a super cheap deck that I have been wanting to try out for ages. Maybe next time though.

Hi Josh!
It's about time you got on here!
Don't worry VV and everyone else. I was kind of thinking we could make this a monthly thing. Toar used to do that. I was never really good so I would like to learn the tips and tricks. Renmail me if you're interested for this weekend and I will send you my Addy. If anyone has suggestion's about next month for a date lets hear it.
DB: we could come up some emergency that you have to attend to and have to leave the house for a few hours... 8) 8) 8) 8)
This is further proof that i am out of the running for "alpha dork"...The closest i came to playing anything like this was catching a Yugi-O episode while i was laying in bed hung over one Saturday morning.
If you don't have/can't find your cards, don't worry. I know when I'm able to make one of these, I have a couple dozen of the preconstucted decks you can buy from the different card sets. That way regardless of playing level, everyone would be about even on the playing field. We could do a huge mulitplayer game too. :)

You've never played a game of MtG with more than just one opponent, or as teams?
nope it was always one on one that I can remember.

He's not into the "group thing", apparently. ::) :-* ;D
GEEKs in John's Inn is that even allowed??? ::)
Is anyone planning on coming? If there really isnt interest this month we can plan for next month.
thanks for the welcomes, ive been here a while, it just took the ability to actually attend something to draw me out to post ;)
and i'm still planning on attending, and I have 10 various decks if people can't find their own
I've gone from a "no" to a "maybe" for this. Tomorrow people....anyone else doing this?
So, is there a decided time this is happening? Did I hear noon?
yup noon it is. I will have a large 6 foot table set up-I hope that works for us. Jenn is gonna whip up sloppy joes and stuff. I still cant find my decks.
*franticly cleaning now*
*starts to sharpen the edge of his cards*
"Now that I know it going to be high noon you have to ask yourself... Is my 20 points of life going up against these ruthless opponents?" ::)
Ill be there!
I just recently sold all my cards because we haven't played in years. But if you're interested, I still have a full Prophecy set for sale. We kept our 5 color decks though, just in case. ;) Can't join for this, but I thought I'd let my geek hang out a bit.
Well that was a fun day! Rather than rely on the prebuilt decks, I need to break out the cards and actually build a multiplayer deck for next time.
Speaking of, when would work for everyone for a "next time"?
very fun indeed. I have a lot to learn about this game. Thanks for coming over and playing guys. Cant wait till next time. Whose house next time or do you want to come back here?
Well, my house is out for playing; I don't even have a table to sit at. I'm fine with traveling to someone else's house to play though.
Well I'm certain that VV will want to let his geek shine thru when he gets back so we'd be happy to host at our place.
He'll be home the Friday after Thanksgiving.
Sorry I missed it. My dual lands haven't seen the light of day in a decade I think. Hopefully I'll catch y'all when I get back.
