Title: Publishing
Post by: Duke Fairfax on October 15, 2008, 10:10:47 AM
Out of curiosity, does anyone out there own/work at a print shop?

In a couple of months, I am looking to publish a workbook (at a print run of 50-100).  I would like to do this as cheaply as possible.

Can anyone help?

My cousin works for Print-Com in Flint, and may be able to help you out.  Let me know.

Brian - I don't own or work at a print shop, but I do know someone who owns a small shop here in Pontiac.

I will call her tomorrow and see what her prices are like.

How many pages are in the workbook?

Actually, I don't know.  Maybe like...100?

Is this something that could be printed on a color laserjet? How many pages in the workbooks? What type of content? Mostly print or is it heavy on the graphics etc?

Jon.

As I said, I'm thinking like 100 pages.  It'll be text and a few graphics.

Vista Prints prints all my bookmarks, postcards and author bios. They have good prices (vistaprints.com) and did a rush job for me that saved a romance author convention for me. You could always just print it out on 8x10 and let it be, but if you want a good print job, I like them. A lot of authors use them. I believe you may have one of my bookmarks already to see the quality. Ahem.
