Title: My Mother's Aneurysm
Post by: William_MacKean on November 17, 2008, 10:47:12 AM
Some have been asking how my mom is doing.  A couple weeks ago they found a massive brain aneurysm by accident while looking for the source of some neck pain and other related issues.

She was rushed to the hospital with a 3-5% chance to make it off the operating table.  Specialist were called in and a very large team was assembled.

Everything went along the best case scenario.  She's home and resting.  The only issues we are having is a loss of appetite due to her being prone to pain nausea.  She will have this splitting headache (literally) for a month or two.  She should be getting the staples out of her scalp this week.

Not out of the woods, yet.  But we're in one helluva clearing.

Thanks to all those who offered help, love, and a good distraction.

Glad she made it through the hardest part.  A brain aneurysm is how I lost my Grandpa.  It is amazing that they caught it it time, that rarely happens!  I hope she has a speedy recovery both for her sake and yours.

Thank (insert deities of choice) it was found and could be repaired before it burst, sending continued good wishes for a complete and swift recovery.

Mom called to tell me that she thinks she's turned a corner.

She's feeling her energy return and has eaten more in the last couple days.  The pain and nausea have diminished some.  She has an appointment Tuesday for a check up and to have the staples removed from her scalp.

Here's hoping the trend continues!

I tried doing my eyes, but gawd the headache was unreal. Dang hard to read the keys too.

Glad to hear things are going well William.
