Usually we have ham, sweet and mashed or scalloped potatoes, green beans and homemade cheesecake.  This year I may have a vegetarian guest, so will substitute a pecan loaf for the ham in that case (this is actually a really delicious treat even if you eat meat).  Almost forgot the homemade cranberry sauce...with toasted walnuts and Grand Marnier.

Mama's Cooking!! *squeeeeee*

I believe we will be having: Turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy, corn, green bean casserole, stuffing, cranberries (the jellied kind, YAY!), possibly sweet potatoes with marshmellows on top (Dad and the pirate like them), crescent rolls, WINE, and I am willing to bet pumpkin pie!!! Oh Oh OH and how could I forget... Mom's Figgy pudding.. It's not really figgy pudding, we just call it that.. It's actually a trifle.. Sooooooo good... White cake, vanilla pudding, bananas, strawberries and cool whip... *drool*

Stretchy pants.. here I come!!   ;D

.... Oh there's no place like home for the holidays......  :-*

We do mostly an appetizer extravaganza so to speak every Christmas Eve - some standards and some new recipes usually.  (dad's tasty chicken wings, my sister's artichoke dip, bacon-wrapped lil smokies baked in BBQ goodness, meat & cheese & crackers, way too many baked goodies & candies, etc., etc.)  Oh, and don't forget the strawberry slushies - YUM!

Christms Eve:  Swedish meatballs, boiled potatoes, some sort of vegetable, and rice pudding.

Christmas:  Roast beef, green bean casserole, German potato salad, green salad, rolls, pickles, olives, pumpkin pie, cherry cheesecake.

There will also be cookies, rice crispy treats, and fudge.

Christmas Eve at Dad's: Chicken Salad sandwiches, bbq meatballs, pimento cheese stuffed celery sticks, deviled eggs, olive/pickle assortment, chips, homemade onion dip, chile con queso, chex mix "trash" and lots o' beer. Followed by fruitcake, persimmon loaf, pecan pie, pumkin pie, and sugar cookies.

Christmas Day: Airport fare at DFW, then Lady Mikayla OOOPS! Err..., ummm, ... I mean whatever Lady Mikayla is serving at her Orphan's Christmas!  :D

We do Christmas at our house...always the same...

Chicken breast over wild seasoned rice smothered in a cranberry/orange suace (I hate cranberries and yet I love this!).

Cornbread and oyster stuffing (actually made with clams, which I hate, but love this stuff anyway).

Acorn squash (Hate squash too, but yep, love acorn squash).

And cheesecake, who could hate cheesecake?

Which one?  XD  Well, this year, there's only two.  Normally, Christmas Eve calls for lasagna, garlic bread, a HUUUGE lovely salad, and cheesecake...but my friends and I cannot get together this year, so that's out.  T.T

This coming Sunday, my hubby and I will be going to my gramma's for her family Christmas, and that will consist of:
Ham, mashed potatoes, homemade noodles, sweet potato casserole (which is THE best way to have sweet potatoes), homemade stuffing, deviled eggs (probably with bacon, which is incredible), salad, potato salad, the "best rolls EVER," pecan pie, apple pie, peach pie (but that's just for my uncle), cherry pie (for another uncle and my hubby), and (if I manage to start feeling better so I can make it) Pumpkin Gingerbread Trifle.  Of course, there may also be a stromboli show up, like it did last year.  I "LOLed," but it was deeeelicious.

His gramma's family Christmas is the same day this year, so we'll be missing that meal.

Then, on Christmas Day (with his parents), it'll be ham, mashed potatoes, stuffing (that's always for me XD), green beans, corn casserole (I'm still not totally sure about that...), deviled eggs, macaroni salad, banana cream cheesecake, and pumpkin pie or (if I don't make it for my Grandma's) the Pumpkin Gingerbread Trifle.  =D

Well, we have Christmas eve dinner at my cousin's. Everyone brings something... green bean casserole, veggies, pickle tray, turkey and/or ham, roles, salad, pies, mashed potatoes and gravy, etc.
Christmas day is at my sister's and she is fixing prime rib, mashed potatoes, green bean casserole, salad, i'm not sure what else, and pies for dessert.

Christmas Eve dinner just for us-my husband and kids usually consists of a standing prime rib roast  (this year it will likely be a cheaper cut of roast),  yorkshire pudding, and either mashed potatoes and gravy or roasted potatoes, carrots, and onions. Followed by Sid's (my husbands') mom's English trifle.  (pound cake liberally laced with  good Sherry, egg custard, pound cake slices covered in black raspberry jam, pears, and freshly whippped cream.

Christmas day dinner at my moms with the whole family usually consists of turkey with all the trimmings, pies, cookies, cheeses, crackers, pepperoni, summer sausages, and more trifle.  Along with the english trifle I want to try one I've seen with chocolate cake, Baileys, chocolate pudding, and whipped cream.

Normally i make lasagna  for christmas eve, and we usually aslo nibble on chesse  and  sausage  and on Christmas day i cook  a ham, mash potatoes, and usually some other vegetable, and then we have homemade pecan pie  and homemade  fudge, and christmas cookies.

But this year we are going to my parents. My mom use to cook abig fancy meal   when  I  was growing up. we would have roast beef, filet migon, mashed potatos, sweet potatos, beans, cranberry,  corn,    a couple different salads, 3 different pies, homemade breads  and  cookies.
But this year  with all my sisters, brother in laws,   their kids, and  their kids  kids, there will be 25 of us, so my mom is having it catered by a italian  restaurant near them. there will be Chicken in a marsala  wine, a eggplant dish, two diifernt pasta dishes, and  a antipasto  salad.   and then of course  my dad's homemade  pies  and my  mom's  cookies.  Guess i know where i got my love of cooking and  baking  from ! :)

Christmas Eve we go to my mother in law's place, the menu is set in stone:  oyster stew (yum!), pork crown roast, wild rice, lefse, and pretty much everything else.

Christmas day dinner is at our house.  Pretty sure I'm making rock cornish game hens in a sesame ginger marinade.  My mother in law will join us, my parent's were scheduled to join us, but Dad is sidelined by a little surgery issue.  That being said, our 3 kids are at home, so there will be plenty of people.

Aside from the usual Holiday Fare (i.e. Mashed taters, corn, asparagus, stuffing, rolls, etc, etc, ad nauseum) my dad's getting a Tur-Duck-Hen this year....should be interesting.

If you can't find your aunt's recipe, here's  mine if you're interested.  It's a very simple dish, basically a puff pancake.

4 T. roast beef fat and drippings
1 cup flour
1 cup milk
3/4 tsp. salt
2 eggs

Preheat oven to 450 degrees.  Add the beef drippings to a well seasoned cast iron skillet,  (a 9x9 or 11x7 casserole will work too).  Let sit in oven to get hot and sizzle a bit while mixing the batter.  Mix the flour, milk, salt and eggs.  Pour into hot pan and bake approx. 25 min. (depending on oven) or until golden and puffy.  Serve immediately with roast beef and gravy.  Serves 6.

Usually Christmas Dinner is split between my parents and Hubby's parents house.  And all we do is show up.  But this year we are going only to Hubby's parents for Christmas Dinner and the only details about dinner that I have are bring lots of our wonderful Deviled Eggs.

Due to some health issues of my mundane brother, we are going to have Christmas dinner at the Red Lion Pub in Houston.  I have always wanted the traditional dinner of Fish & Chips for Christmas.  Normally I hate to go out to eat on Holidays but this year is different.  Too bad my mundame brother can't join us but they won't let him out of the hospital yet, though I am considering smuggling him out on StudMuffin.

Whatever's handy, see I usually try to find someone who celebrates Christmas but has to work, and then if I can I will take their place so that they can have the day with their family.  So it might be a sandwich or potluck or whatever I can scrounge.

There is always the standard fare... Turkey, ham, mashed potatoes, green beans (I make them, so herbed w/butter, not the mushroom soup casserole stuff) corn, broccoli casserole, sweet potato casserole, herbed stuffing, my turkey gravy (because for some reason I'm the only one in my family who has ever learned how to make the stuff ::) ), green salad, maple pecan tart (also mine, and waaay too yum!), Methodist pudding (most amazing dessert in the Universe!!!), various other traditional desserts and fresh bread with homemade butter (made by the kids)...

Uhhhh... Terducken, eh??? Aaahahahahaha.... I can't really say it's the weirdest food I've ever heard of, but I do have to wonder about the mental health of the guy (you just know it was a guy, right...?) who thought this one up!!!

From what I understand, you can get a TurPorkHen as well.  Not sure I'd be willing to  risk that, but the TurDuckHen isn't bad.  And yea, my guess it was a guy.

"Ya see, Cletus, ya takes one o' them there turkeys and then ya rolls it 'round one o' them ducks....."
Well, either that, or a couple of drunk guys took a look and said, "Hey! I bet that'll fit in there!"

And the rest, as they say, is History!

My BIL does the cooking - hallelujah! - but I gave him a choice of bringing either my world famous pastitsio (Greek macncheese) or posole a la my grandma (hominy w/chilied pork).  Posole won.  We do Christmas on Christmas Eve so I'll probably get up early Christmas a.m. & put a pot of posole on as a change.

Growing up going to the union picnic they would roast lamb and pig over a big fire they always put chicken and turkey inside the lamb or pig and roast them togeather.  They would use cherry or apple wood for the smoking.   Great food.

LOL... well, I wouldn't want to eat actual Methodists... I'd probably never be able to dance again!!! (J/K... please, no flaming torches!!!)

It starts with a flour and crushed walnut crust that is pre-baked, then alternating layers of chocolate pudding, vanilla pudding, sweetened cream cheese and whipped cream, with chopped walnuts sprinkled in between, then refrigerated over night to allow the layers to "marry"... mmmmm...

My grandmother (who is a Methodist) makes this for every holiday! I think it's their replacement for sex... and it could almost work!!! (but only almost...  ::) )

We'll be with my Husband's family, and we'll have some sort of dinner xmas eve, and then xmas day we're having a bunch of appetizers and then subs, chili, soup...things like that - I'll probably bring some cookies or banana bread, both if I get really ambitious...

I'm making gumbo!

I bought a small book when I was in New Orleans earlier this year and it shows how to make different gumbos. I tried one back in August and it came out better than any of the restaurants we ate at there. Just amazing how good it came out, course I followed suit with the book saying to keep different broths and combine them. So I've got my shrimp broth (made with the shells), beef, chicken stored in the freezer until needed and it will be another winning meal. Especially since rain and cold is being forecasted for here come Christmas.

*back to the topic*

We'll be with my Husband's family, and we'll have some sort of dinner xmas eve, and then xmas day we're having a bunch of appetizers and then subs, chili, soup...things like that - I'll probably bring some cookies or banana bread, both if I get really ambitious...

Ooohhhh... which type of cookies?  I'm thinking of making some No Bake Oatmeal cookies for "Santa" this year.  But I'm not sure.  So I'm looking for other ideas/ options

I heard a recipe on NPR for Chocolate Crinkle Cookies {it's on their website, NPR(dot) org} that I'm looking forward to trying - they're a soft chocolate cookie rolled in sugar and then confectioner's sugar before baking. The regular sugar helps the cookie stay soft & chewy on the inside, and prevents the confectioner's sugar from soaking in so the 'crinkle' effect is more dramatic looking, as the coating will 'crack' and chocolate shows through the sugar coating.

Ummm... hello??? Chocolate pudding???  LOL

Where was my head that I missed it?  ???

...add a layer of chocolate shavings on top of the crushed walnut layers.....

Oh yeah...  ;D

Christmas dinner is....leftovers from Christmas Eve dinner!

We always have friends and family over for an "open house" on Christmas Eve, and my mom always puts out a ton of food...so whatever is left over (most of it) gets eaten on Christmas Day.  I guess it's the result of growing up with 5 brothers...my mom is used to putting out loads of food!

I am making my soon-to-be-famous pumpkin spice bars, though.  Cream cheese frosting and everything.  A house favorite for 3 years now yay!

LOL... well, I wouldn't want to eat actual Methodists...

OOOH!  I was wondering what it was, too, and now I know -exactly- what you're talking about.  Just had it yesterday, actually.  But we call it Seven Layer Delight.  =D

It's probably called something different in every region of the country, and there's no telling what it may be called on other countries!!! Methodist Pudding is what it's always been called here, but that's just in this area...

Pecan pie and Pumpkin pie both with a *ahem*, rum reduction. Sorry Teach, they don't survive long!

Scotch glazed ham. It won't survive long either. I'll have to snag some for sandwiches before it disappears!

Whatever else the rest of the family brings.

We will have the "Orphan Christmas" again this year.  Explanation:  I was an only child, and now both parents have been deceased for many years.  All my relatives live back East.  Steve is from England, and all his family is still there.  He is a chef, so for most of the first 20 years of our marriage, we moved every few years to different resorts when he took on a new job as either Executive Chef or Food and Beverage Director.

Chefs have sort of a clique.  Steve always had at least 4 or 5 people from the different places he worked come to work at his current job.  They all weren't there at the same time, but he had a core of about 8 other chefs who followed him around from time to time.  Also bringing wives, girlfriends, and kids.  Most of them didn't have family in the area, either, so we started the "Orphan Christmas."

A Christmas dinner at our house for all friends who didn't have family around to celebrate with.  We became each others' family.  We've had our restaurant in Galena for 9 years now, so we don't have a lot of chefs following us around anymore.  But we've continued the tradition.  All our friends locally who don't have a place to go for Christmas (Thanksgiving, too), we invite to have dinner with us.

On Thursday, we will eat spiral ham, home made applesauce, roasted parsnips, Steve's green bean casserole (he doctors it up with I don't know what, and it is incredible), home-made French bread, and mincemeat tarts (for him, I don't like them), and some kind of chocolate-y overload for my tastes and the other guests.  There will be 7 of us this year, including the 16 day old baby of Steve's assistant.

My son had a gift certificate for a 16 pound turkey, from his work. We are roasting the turkey. Also making mashed potatoes, stuffing, sweet corn, Christmas cookies and pecan pie. Other family members are bringing cranberries or salad and pies.
Some of us are Methodists, some have become a lot more liberal and wont' amend their ways. Ahem.  ;D
I have had that chocolate pudding dessert, but it wasn't called that. I liked it a lot. I think it had a more "creative" name, such as "chocolate pudding dessert." LOL.

For Christmas eve I don't know yet, but the lasagna idea is sounding pretty good. Christmas day we will go to my dad's and load up his smoker with all kinds of meats. My stepmother usually wants porkloin, my brother will bring ribs, there is always chicken, and I plan on bringing 2 roasts; 1 pork, 1 beef. We share all the meat and dad usually provides broccilli, baked potatoes, salad, and fresh bread.

Since my brother is still recovering from his stroke, we can not have our traditional Christmas dinner at his house.  So I'll be with my Mom (aged 79).  As I do not cook, and she keeps reminding me that she is retired from being a homemaker, I will go by Boston Market on Christmas Eve to get a couple of dinners to reheat the next day.  It works great, no muss, no fuss with no overeating or leftovers.  I'm sure we shall have a merry time.

CHALUPAS!  We're thinking about bringing back my mom's Christmas tradition and making a huge spread of "do-it-yourself" chalupas.  You start at one end and put a couple of dabs of beans on your plate to hold the crisp tortillas in place.  Then you coat the tortillas with beans, taco meat, cheese, chopped onions, shredded lettuce, chopped tomatoes, sour cream, black olives . . . whatever!  Put some guacamole on the side and then go sit down for a feast!  If you get everyone together early and turn it into a "team sport" then it gets done quick and everyone enjoys it more.

On the other hand, we might also do "Virginia Captain's Country Platter."  White rice in a huge platter, circled by green peas, covered with a curry-tomato-sherry sauce with shrimp and sausage and chicken breasts in it.  Sprinkle on some blanched almonds and currants and CHOW DOWN!

We'll see . . .

Our son is coming home from Boston, and he requested loin of pork.  So Steve will cook that some fancy way, with a bunch of veggies, salad, & bread.  He will make mini mince pies for dessert, which only he will eat because none of us like them.  He'll probably make another dessert for the rest of us, not sure yet, but his Chocolate! Chocolate! Chocolate! cake will get my vote.

On Christmas Eve, we go to a friend's house for an hor's d'oeuvre party for a couple of hours before church.  They always have a lot of yummies.

On Christmas Eve I am making BBQ pulled pork in the crock-pot since Mom and Dad get in that afternoon and who knows if their flight will be delayed or if its snowing and the roads will be crap.. This will keep nicely no matter what time they arrive!

On Christmas Day there will be, She-Crab soup for the boys ( :-X *barf*)
Turkey, stuffing, cranberries, green bean casserole, corn, crescent rolls, sweet potatoes with marshmellows, mashed potatoes and gravy, WINE of course.. and for dessert we will have what my family lovingly calls "Figgy Pudding" its actually a truffle with bananas and strawberries.. So full of YUM!!

Mom and I will also make a batch of Krumkake during the day using my great Grandma's recipe..  :)

Chicken breast over wild seasoned rice smothered in a cranberry/orange suace (I hate cranberries and yet I love this!).

Cornbread and oyster stuffing (actually made with clams, love clams, hate oysters).

Acorn squash (Yep, love acorn squash).

And cheesecake, who could hate cheesecake?

Quoted from last year cuz it's a tradition...And it wouldn't be a tradition if we did not repeat it!

I celebrate two Christmases - Western and Eastern. For Western it will be either ham or turkey with potatoes and at least 3 kinds of pie... For Eastern, there will be something traditionally Russian (possibly herring  ;D) - whatever Mom is in the mood for. There will be a pie of some sort, or it is not Christmas.

Turkey, mashed potatoes, guacamole (that's my favorite), corn, peas and carrots, cranberry sauce, fried corn bread, buttered biscuits, stuffing, gravy, pumpkin pie and some other horrible dessert which I never have either one. Christmas Eve
Appetizers
Deviled Eggs
Fruit and Vegetable Trays
Cheese Tray
Asparagus (wrapped in prosciutto with mozzarella)
Spinach and asparagus dip
Hummus

Main Dishes
Ham
Turkey
Tamales

Side Dishes
Mashed Potatoes
Sweet Potatoes (with pecans and carmelized sugar - NO marshmellows)
Green Beans (sauteed bacon grease with almonds, not gb casserole)
Spinach
Corn
Stuffing
Salad
Broccoli & Cauliflower
Gravy

Breads
Dinner Rolls
Crescents
Corn Bread

Dessert
Ambrosia
Pie: Pumpkin, Sweet Potato, Apple, Blackberry, Key Lime, and chocolate-Kahlua chiffon.
Cake: Red Velvet, Carrot
Sopapillas (with honey)
Cookies - lots and lots of cookies

Christmas Day
We are doing a brunch
Belgian Waffles (I have 2 professional waffle irons)
Eggs to order (including almost 2 dozen things to stick in omelets)
Pancakes (4 kinds)
Bacon
Sausage (links and patty)
Oatmeal
Biscuits
Sausage gravy

The really hard part isn't the sheer quantity of food being prepared (we are feeding a lot of people), it is that 99% is from scratch because it has to be as gluten, egg, and lactose free while also being diabetic friendly and still taste right to everybody not on a restricted diet.

One caveat is that we are having "Christmas Eve".  Santa is swinging by that night and we are opening presents on Sunday.

A couple of years ago, one of my nephews asked how it we could have Santa stopping by early/ late every year (we have to work around a large military family's schedules).  We explained (and have maintained) that Santa supports the military and understands that they, along with some other people who just can't do Christmas on "Christmas day", need schedules adjusted - and that the military had a form just for that so they could let Santa know.  It didn't hurt that I was stationed in Alaska and have pictures from North Pole, Alaska or that NORAD tracks Santa every year - or that we have a Santa ornament where he is wearing fatigues.

Maybe get Ace to make some sweet potatoes and we'll work up some tofu type dish as well. I'll make a chicken for the kids and meat-atarian guests, and hope that it is all good.

Since we are headed out of town the day after Christmas we are going out for dinner.  Seeing that I am a Christmas Story fanatic we are going to move our traditional Christmas Eve Chinese dinner to Christmas Day and go all the way complete with Peking duck.

Christmas Eve we are doing meatloaf and mashed taters.  Yes, we will have the "little piggys" scene going on for those that have seen the movie.

Slightly different, but it works for us.

For Christmas Eve - I'm REALLY hoping we can find some tamales! That would be so AWESOME!

For "Orphan's Christmas" at Lady Mikayla's castle:

For the Kitties: Fancy Feast Ocean Fish Feast. For the Puppers: Doggie cookies, pigs ears along with usual dinnerz. Saucers of raw milk all around.

For everybody else: (not counting what everybody else brings) Sour cream and salsa dip, chips, meat & cheese platter, nuts, Smoked Turkey, homemade cornbread stuffing/dressing, whole berry cranberry sauce, green bean casseroles (1 w/ almonds, 1 w/o), mashed red potatoes, gravy (from smoked turkey drippings - YUM!), baked sweet potatoes (no marshmallows!), rolls, pumpkin pie, butter pecan snowballs, pan de polvo, chocolate covered pretzels, pecan divinity, peanut brittle, assorted chocolates, Black Opal Shiraz, Estancia Savignon Blanc, RUM, beer, tea, sodas, coffee (caf & decaf)...

And I swear - during the cooking process - we will ask each other - do you think there's enough for everyone? LOL!

Randy - "meatloaf, smeatloaf, double-beatloaf, I hate meatloaf..."
The Old man - "All right, I'll get that kid to eat. Where's my screw driver and my plumber's helper? I'll open up his mouth and I'll shove it in!"

hee hee!!  :D So love that movie!! We'll have it on the entire 24 hours starting at 7 pm on Christmas Eve!! YAY!!

Rapier, try to look beyond the baggage and have as Merry a day as you can. The holidays certainly bring up alot of baggage in all of us and many won't be sitting down to table with a Norman Rockwell kind of family. Nonetheless I plan to find the simple joys of the celebration and I hope you do as well.

Merry Christmas

Fa Rah Rah Rah Rahhhh Rah Rah Rah Rahhhh!  :D

My sister & mom are basically snowed in in NYC and can't get tickets home until after Christmas.  So my BIL is going to join them and me & my son are celebrating alone.  As far as diinner, my DS said we could have a Chinese Christmas.  At which point I sang the above.  I admit to a certain amount of happiness when it's all over and done with; this year will be more so.  Meh.

I think Chinese Christmas sounds like fun. When life gives you noodles, make chop suey!  ;D

For my family, we concentrate on having Christmas brunch now. I still get my ham  :), and family can come and go as they please without the pressure of a formal sit down dinner, where everyone pretends to get along.  :D Hard to have pretense over eggs and grits.

In the evening I plan to be sitting around a bonfire with friends, and a nice bottle of wine.

I've learned to make my own holiday in the way that works for me.  :)

Well... if Sir Morgan isn't stuck in Nebraska due to the winter storm that they are calling for we'll be having a spiral sliced brown sugar ham, green bean casserole, garlic dill potatoes, steamed broccoli, cranberry sauce, buttered corn, and of course wheat rolls. For dessert we're having caramel apple pie  :D.... mmmmm..... and hopefully some of my homemade eggnog.
If he is stuck there we'll have it after he gets back.

The snowed-ins arrived last night around 7, so we had our usual Christmas eve dinner & presents.  Ham, turkey, green & red enchilada casseroles, dressing, potatoes from scratch, etc.

Well, as a couple of the snowed-in... ours turned out to be chicken pot pies today, but there are leftovers waiting for us tomorrow, if we can get out of the parking lot, that is!!!  I will definitely be making a trip to the grocery store tomorrow, also!!!   LOL

Looks like vegetarian Shepherd's Pie, mashed taters, sweet taters, green bean cass, mac and cheese, brie, rolls, and wine... LOTS AND LOTS OF WINE. After a day of Wii and playing "princess", I'm in need of WINE!

Christmas Eve dinner at my house was a  pork loin topped with bacon slices and stuffed with cornbread dressing, mashed potatoes, and glazed carrots.  Lots of cookies, and cheese, pepperoni and summer sausage snackage.

Two Christmas dinners:  early dinner at my parents-ham, scalloped potatoes, sweet potatoes, coleslaw and rolls. (I only nibbled to save room for the second dinner later.)

Dinner at aunts house with all the cousins and kids: crab cocktail, a cheese, proscuitto and olive platter, roasted peppers in garlic oil, mixed greens w/walnuts & feta, marinated and grilled pork loin and beef loin, brisket,  scalloped potatoes, mashed pot. &gravy, brocolli cheese casserole, succotash, and rolls. Followed by english trifle, various cookies, brownies, zucchini bread, chocolate peanut butter dessert, cheesecake.

Too  bad I couldn't eat ANY of the second dinner, 'cause as soon as I started sampling an appetizer, I was hit with the worst, most painful case of acid reflux I've ever had and couldn't eat anything!  Was in misery the rest of the evening! Serves me right for trying to have 2 dinners!
