Magic, adventure and fun are the order of the day,so if you wish to join us,put a description of your character here!! So far the Roster includes, Myself as Shamrall the Small and Luciana as The Gypsy Seer,Gaia. to keep the story manageable I think that no more than five or so should be writing. Looks : Tall, fairskinned, chestnut color hair, green eyes
Occupation : Sorceress
Skills: Magic of course, capable of taking the form of any living animal or element

History : I am the daughter of an good and kind sorceress queen. She passed away when i was a young baby. Killed by those who were afraid of her magic and considered her evil. My father is said to be agreat king, but i would not know for i have never met him. He sent me away as a young infant, for fear that the people who killed my mother would kill me too. For it is said that my powers are more powerful then my mothers. I was sent to live with my hand servant and some other servants in an old castle in the ancient woods. The woods is said to be haunted so no ones ever visits me. Although I know that is just a myth. I have made many friends among the animals in the woods. They keep me company.
Thank goodness for a slow day at work :D
Name: Birgitta Fairehaven
Gender: Female
Race: Human
Age: 23
Height: 5'
Weight: 130
Skills: Bard. Can fight but mostly self-defense. Has enough 'small magic' to handle small wounds and light a camp fire without needing to rub sticks together.
Clothing: Deep green bodice, layered skirts in shades of brown, split for riding. Ankle-length hooded cloak in durable charcoal-colored broadcloth. Mid-calf length riding boots, well broken in. Wears a light pocketed vest over the bodice for travel. Carries two small belt pouches and one large enough to hold a tube of quills.
Weapons: Carries a long utilitarian dagger that she can defend herself with adequately but views mainly as a tool. Can throw accurately but has no training in ranged weapons and carries no items specifically for throwing (unless she slipped a pretty rock into her belt pouch at the last stream)
Mount: small saddle-trained sorrel mare
History: Birgitta was the daughter of a retainer to a small country Lord. She grew up wrestling and running the woods with the lord's sons until both she and they grew too old to enjoy such games, as well as sitting in on the occasional more interesting lesson with their tutor. Her parents were grateful that their Lord didn't mind the presence of the small girl, nor did he grudge her a chance to learn if she would. When she reached an appropriate age, she was taken in as apprentice to the Lord's bard. She learned from him the basic skills of a bard – harp playing, song writing, confidentiality, and trustworthiness among other things – as well as enough base magic to care for herself. He also helped her put a bit of polish on the defensive skills she had acquired in her younger wrestling-tomboy days.
Once she reached a marriageable age it became clear that, while she was loved, there was little reason for her to remain at home. None of the men of her age and class were interested in such a outspoken lass with so few typical female accomplishments, and there really wasn't a need for two bards in the Lord's court. Receiving with gratitude the gift of a small harp from her Master and a well-broken mare from the Lord, she kissed her parents and set out to find a place of her own. She's been looking ever since.
Luciana talked me into joining I will think of character info tonight.

Went out on her own as soon after the loss, she does still keep a home in the village but only stays for a few weeks every few months. Prefers to be outdoors. Rofl ! yes, i guess both of us don't know how to count ! LOL ! Unless one of us does not behave like a lady ! ;D ;)
I have some questions about collaborative story-writing that I'd like to ask before we get to that part.
1. How much action can you write for other people's characters? For example, I'm assuming that if you're posting during a fight scene scenario, it's unnacceptble to post someone else's entire fight sequence as part of your character's post, but it would be okay to describe something small that they did/that involved them like "As Shamrall slashed at NPC's face with his blade, NPC ducked away from the blow, staggering back into Birgitta(me) as she neatly slipped a dagger between NPC's ribs" as a general part of my post.
2. How does posting order work? Will we take "turns" in writing, or do we just hop in when we feel we have something to add?

I have been involved in writing several short stories on here. It depends on the others you are writing with, but usually the people i write with, just hope in whenever we feel like it, and want to write. we had no posting order.
We also would write for each others charcters sometimes. Everyone was okay with it, as long as we did not involve them in any romance without talking to them first, or kill them off.
I agree! The "Order" will fill out as some of us have more time or new ideas! We just need to watch out so the story doesn't take after just one contributor. I have been without a computer at home for the past week so I have been trying to watch this area from work (Sometimes, not much time to play on the forums 'cause my deputies are bringing in Lots of new Guests!! We can write using each others charactors as long as we stick to what we have laid down as "Unchangeable" or get the "Go Ahead" from the charactor's owner. By the way I liked the sample used by Sonata, great use of both charactors! We can start at any time but don't expect the story to write itself! Sometimes some of us will be background writers and someone will be lead writers, but don't worry my friends, it will work out!!
I have started! Join in as you see fit!! Shamrall is going to get a surprise when he opens those chests in that wagon!!
Please carry on without me for a brief bit - I'm having a creative dry spell but Birgitta will catch up with the story as soon as my writer's block goes away!
I'll write tonight or tomorrow. Things finally settling down after the holidays
I'll write this afternoon or tonight, depending on how slow things are at work today.
I'm so sorry, I feel like I'm holding up the progress of the whole story :'( . I keep meaning and meaning to write a post, and every time I get started my muse absolutely deserts me.
I'm at a loss, please proceed without me for now, and perhaps I'll be able to find a way to squeeze my character in once I have Mundane stress under better control :(
Your not holding any of us up dear!! I,and I am sure, the others are just dry!! I will however endeavor to post something tonight if work doesn't intrude!!
Let's see if we can't even up the cast abit... ;D

Is it just us three? or are the others looking to get in on the story, I was considering posting but that it might be best to allow some one else the chance to do so first.

I don't know what happen to the others . Have not seen them in a while. It looks like it might be just us three. As far as I am concern you can go ahead and post. See what Martin has to say since he started the story. :)
Sally forth, and if they join us at a later date, the more the merrier!
Good job! I was wondering how you would end up handling that, I danced around the thorny issue of assigning any blame for the attack to your character. I knew when you next posted that you would address it, though I must confess I wondered how.
I believe that makes it Lady Amy's turn...
I'll try to write something tonight, if not it will have to wait till wednesday. Going to be away for a few days having some tests done.
Story is looking good. :)
Good luck on your tests, oh and a bit of advice, make up a set of cheat notes to take with you... ;D
Well, Martin, looks like that makes it your turn again. With the lady gone we will have to work extra hard to keep the story rolling along.
LOL ! I'm back, so you guys don't have to work so hard ! ;D
