So we're still set for June 28 & 29 (arriving friday 27)?? Do people already have tix? There is presale on website but it is still much cheaper to buy as a group. There are 10.95 for a min of 10 people. Should we go in as a group?
Aye still going that weekend. Group tickets should be easy we have over 10 going. Drop Muffin a line on the tickets...
Crap. I already ordered my tickets for this. Oh well...
I haven't purchased tickets or paid for the campsite yet. I'm open to the group buy if anyone else is.
ditto to what DB said.

Sure. as soon as we have the number of needed tix then I can compute the price.
If we're there two days, then I'll need 4 tickets.
Do yo have to use the tickets that weekend or can you use them on another weekend? I don;t know if I can make it that weekend but would love to get cheaper tickets.
Of course, everyone is going the weekend I'm not working!
*pouts*
I thought I had already bought tickets for this. Didn't they have them available to buy ahead of time? I remember because I specifically asked about military discount. Hmmm... If I don't have them (I'll check) I'm in to buy with the group. I'll need at least 4 as well.

Tickets are good for any day of the 2008 season.

I'll have to check with the wife, we're planning on at least doing a day trip to check it out, although the Illinois Highland Games that we do conflicts with one of the weekends.
Less than one month to WIRF!!!! WOOooo!
I don't know why I didn't notice this the first time I read Sir Abish's post in the WIRF forum...
Something new this year...
QuoteAles and Tales. A VIP ticket to your own mini-faire. You get free appetizers, 2 free ales, and a private mini show by some of the best acts at this years faire. This takes place in your own pub that we reserve for 2 shows a day. Ticket price is only 15.00. Get them early as I am sure the tickets will sell out fast. If you know Lazlo from the Minn faire he will be the Master of Ceremonies for this event.
I think I'm going to try and get in on this one!
http://wirenfaire.com/?110380
I see they've changed their website from a group being 10+ people to 21+ for group tickets discount. SOOOO, do we have a group of 21??? It is $7.95 per ticket.
Judging from previous posts:
Muffin & Bacardi 2
DB & Nyte 4
Lily 3
MG 4
Sleepy 2
Goody (I'm just goin Sat I think) 1
Leyla 2
Rage & LD 4
THAT GETS US PAST 21! We will purchase tix when we arrive so whoever has $ then we will figure out how many we need. If it ends up being a lot more I think theres even more of a discount unless the changed their website again
I have left a msg with events coordinator to ask if they can be used on other days
Dayna (I'm only going Saturday as well)
Well I'll need one for Saturday and one for Sunday.
I will take three as long as I can use them whenever during the run.
Hey Goody... this may be a dumb question, but when you list 2 tickets for Capt. B and me you do mean two each right? We need tickets for both Sat. and Sun..
I'm sure that's what you meant, but just wanted to make sure.. ;D
See you soon!!
xoxo,
Muffin
yep. we'll actually get them when we're there so we dont hafta figure it out ahead of time. the lady from WIRF called my moms house cuz that where I was when I called her and told my Mom that we could get the 10+ as a group rate if needed but seems we'll make 20 just fine
I'll need a total of 4 for the weekend. I take it we'll all ned to meet up at the gate to purchase them at the same time?
Oooo, I can actually come to this one. Can you put me down for two tickets (just me for two days)? My daughter's going to be at her grandparents so I don't have to worry about her.
Morwen
I may actually be able to pull this off this year, I don't have Avalon that weekend and I get paid the week before..I could make this work.
I may need between 1 and 3 more tickets.
Goody, Sweets, I will take two-total. The girl and I will probably only go Saturday. I will settle up with you this weekend.
Unless my uncle needs us to work, which I doubt.

Rambling Sailors (Shantyman plus one and Rosie is a wonderful addition) will be at WIRF!
Caught this act at Bristol last year and liked em...a lot.
M'Lady and I won't be there until the 3rd weekend. I heard a rumor that there will be some people working this fest instead of Colorado. The story is that Colorado adopted a new policy banning dreads, visible tattoos and excessive piercing for employees. Don't know if it's true but that's the scoop i got.
Oh well Colorado's loss our gain.
Really Hatter?
Heads shall roll! Pull out the whips!
Must be some micky mouse influences going on. POTC stuff.
Give me a name. Sixty four pounders are at the ready. I reserve the eight pounders for later.

That was being discussed in the Colorado area of the forum, and it sounds like it's a policy that's actually been in place for a while, but not very much enforced.
Did find out a little bad news at TWIG. The mead booth will not be there. (actually should have not been there last year) :o Something about the permitts to transport across state lines. :(

**For those who want group rate tickets. Have your arse at the opening gate by 9:45-10 to purchase them en masse**
If you aren't there we will see if they will allow a will call type of situation. The tickets are good for any day, so I suggest you buy all the ones you want at one time.

Me and Muffin will be there both days and camping.
We would say dinner. Will bring queso and something else.....
Toarmod and I will be going Saturday. Just a day trip for us, however, no camping this year.
Arriving on Friday, late afternoon. Electric site already booked. Leaving on Sunday.
I kinda want to make up for the no show at Twig so....
Potluck on Sat night sounds good to me, breakfast would be ok too. Put me down for chopped beef tips with mushrooms and onions.
Might I suggest someone bring sweet corn or maybe a watermelon (will need to be iced) or two.
I'll be bringing a two burner lp stove.
Thank you Kate for doing our page 12!

Kay and I will need two tickets to the faire on Sat.
And Rage and LD, you two are invited to supper at my place on Friday night.

Semi formal, shorts and bug repellent are allowed.

Okay everyone-
Make sure to see the update to page 12 on page 5 of this thread.
I will update every day if needed. If I missed something, please renmail me.
Now, I am off to continue packing...
I'm bring a two burner lp coleman store and a coleman gas grill. Camping size not the big gas grill.
If you need a large pot for sweet corn Kate, let me know.
Well, I am not cooking, especially corn. So, if Muffin needs a pan to cook it in, she will have to let you know.
I am just herding cats rennies.
And I will leave my little campstove home then. It sounds like we won't need it, and space is a premium in my tiny car.
I will bring a large pot for the corn... ;D
That burner and pot Tarac had at Twig works perfectly for corn! (and wash water, and coffee water...)
Items bringing:
1 shade canopy with 2 side panels
large cooler of lemonade type beverage for kids or adults (who can then add their own "seasoning")
**does everyone have cups or should I bring some of those, too?** Ah hell, have to bring some for the kids, anyway.
Hot dogs/buns/condiments (the kids will be happier with that than anything I might be making)
Pasta salad to share
Various fruit for breakfast
Crockpot of something "dinner-ish"
Various snacks with dip
What else?!?
Is it time for WIRF yet??? I'm up for that ales and tales thingy, we'll have to maybe organize when gates open and get tickets right away.
Ales and Tales sounds fun but the boys wouldn't sit still long enough. For those that go, enjoy!
Also bringing the blender.
Seems the extra microwave disappear..oh well we all have to rough it at times.
Very posh.
And surprise! I'll be wearing my first piece of pirate gear!
OK, I'll bite. Baron, what is the blender for?
Well I've got some of those ice things, flavored ice...you know Mr. Freezer or what every their called.
And since I'm bring a fridge...yes I am...was thinking that those and a little vodka with a few ice cubes...
yes, posh camping. Still looking for a tent a/c unit.
Was overruled on bringing the flat screen and satellite dish, but the easy boy is still not out of the question. In negotiations now.
Really...my first piece of pirate gear.
And it's not that T-shirt..."So many pirates, so little rope".
Will be wearing it on Friday.
errrgh (did I get that right?)
Ah, the eternal question...
To pirate, or not to pirate. Yes, I have pondered the same thing many times whilst standing overheated in my many layers...

shovel sword in hand and a bottle of rum in the other..... ;)
I don't really hate pirates Rage...They're very good with A-1 sauce and asparagus. (ya dumb smiley thing here)
And have been doing a little history on them the past few weeks. The whole Spain/Portugal, English and Dutch around 1566 (?) or so.
Just can't get the liking of rum tho...the whole bible/rum/slave triangle.
Opps...sorry, back to topic...arrrrrrrph. (needs work)
Here is some info from the campground owner, Sir Abish's wife.
Hello Kate:
I do believe that my husband has a designated area for you.
We can make sure that you have a fire ring for your group. We do have
wood for sale -- it is not included in the price of the camping -- it is
$4.00 per bundle.
We are within walking distance to the faire grounds -- it is a little
bit of a walk though. We are charging for parking in fairegrounds this
year. The money is going to a charity.
Usually check out on Sunday is 2 PM. However, if you are enjoying
yourselves at the faire, I would much rather have you there then
worrying about packing up and leaving by 2 PM.
Something to consider, kids:
Some people are daytripping it. See if it worthwhile to carvan/ride share.
Make sure you pay the main driver gas money, don't be cheap- gas isn't.
Do the "green" thing. Okay, sorry I thought that guilt might work.
Also, what time do we want to meet to buy our group rate tickets at the gate? Or does that have to be bought ahead of time?
Belinda Jensen says rain on Friday. Of course that could change ten times before then.
Oh,if you have any questions, please read the page 12 located on page five of this thread.

Me too. Seriously. Half the reason I dont camp. And if more than two misquitos buzz my ear this weekend while I am trying to sleep, I am heading over the motel 6.
So it turns out I shall be out this Sunday working the shop. Stop by and say hi! Please!! (It's Seventh Sojourn in case you can't find me, which would be hard, I think).
I am intending to daytrip Saturday, get up early, drive to faire, stay until they kick me out and then drive home.
FYI, 35W between 94 and 62(crosstown) will be closed from Friday evening until Monday morning. Northbound is open. If you're going south and need that area, might just be easiest to go into downtown and take Portland south. Alternatively, 35E will take you to 494.
If you want to carpool, I'm available to ride or drive, during the day my phone is 612 316-2514.
Dayna
I can bring a couple pounds of hamburger and buns.
I've got one of those patty making things, I'll bring it along.
Ya know, I'm finally getting into the spirit of things.
Rage,
I see your point about collecting money ahead of time for group rates. I would think those that want them will be there at the designated time to purchase their tickets. (With the exception of Sleepy)
I know I personally can't afford to take the hit to buy them all ahead of time and hope everyone remembers to pay me. I don't have a credit card, I use a Visa Check card. I have kids to feed and a mortgage to pay.
Morwen-welcome! Are you camping?
The girl and I will be leaving Plymouth around 4:30-ish. I think we can make to the campground by seven-ish?

Your info is updated on page 12.
So is anyone packed yet?
I am sort of. Getting a little excited! The girl and I practiced putting up the tent tonight (like I will remember how to do it again Friday)
After a few swear words, and fifty bug bites (thru bug spray) we got it up. In one piece and didn't break it.
AND I managed to stuff it back into the little bitty bag they give you.
Is it Friday yet?
Don't forget your Deep Woods OFF or your sunblock!
Happy packing everyone. I am off to bed, I hafta get up at o dark hundred tomorrow.

Damn I wish I could go. With work cutting my OT its a crap shoot when I get my extra hours, I cant preschedule anything so my life will now be in limbo. Have fun!!!
Have been really busy so sorry I dont check too often.
I am attempting to keep a running list of the people who wanted group tix. I have been in contact with Michelle about grp pricing. Please have cash on hand and I guess we'll go with the 9:45 AM that has been set in a previous post.
Since I'm not going to be pitching a tent, I was wondering if anyone would be interested in letting me be a "plus one adult" at the campsite. It would be a bit cheaper that way and taking my daughter to the parents last week cost more than I thought it would.
Morwen
cookies baked
nacho cheesy taco filling finished
Jambalaya cooling
Boys' bags packed
1 set of new garb finished (1 to go!)
fruit prepped
beer purchased
I'm gettin' there!
No camping again for us this year. :-[
Looks like we'll be part of the carpool on Saturday. We should be arriving in time for the meet up at the front gate for tickets.
frack! Did anyone else happen to check out the weather!?!
Soo... the boys didn't come with to Twig because of the chance of storms. Now it looks like we've got 40-60% chance of rain and thunder storms. Double damn.
How many canopies are we going to have?
Does anyone know of any road conditions to be concerned about when driving the 94 east bound route?
I am bringing a canopy. Not sure how big it is or how well made it is, but hopefully it will suffice.
For some unknown reason I really want a sparing partner this weekend.
Anybody game?
Car is packed!
Just waiting for the Krispie bars to finish melting.
Krispie bars are done. Yummy.
Now I have to get the boy at work at 10:30, then it is bedtime.
MG-I am hoping the "storms" will go south like they have been. because they need more rain in Iowa-Not.

Taking the day off.
Much packing todo. Will be leaving around noon.
Red Sky in the Morning...I'll bring along the Weather Chicken just in case.
I'm trying to get directions, but the campsite webpage does not list an address. Does anybody know it, or should I just shoot for the fairegrounds and hope I can find it from there?
Thanks, Morwen

If it's like last year, as you face the entrance for the fairegrounds, turn left. The campgrounds are the next entrance just down the road.
ACK!!! I'm so not prepared yet! Need to drop the puppy off at Mom's. Still have laundry to do, haven't even thought of food yet. oi! Time to get busy.
Holy cow! LD just called me. they are already set up and kicking back!
Must get a move on!
Okay.. got a shade thingy at Target.. Just in case we need more space to hide from the rain (or sun... Oh I hope its sun!!)
Coolers will be packed up in a little bit...
Is anyone bringing a radio of any kind? Mine doesn't seem to be working... :P
See you all soon!!
:-*
Looking to be thunderstorms throughout the day tomorrow. Bring your umbrellas!
How was it?
VERY windy, a little rain, but overall, very pleasant. It seemed like there were more vendors this year, but at the same time there was less variety than last year, if that makes any sense. Toarmod and I were searching for a jewelry booth to find men's rings, and there were really none to be found. I think the variety of food offered could still be worked on too. Still too much like state fair food (pizza, hotdogs, corndogs, nachos, icecream, fries, etc)
The grounds look better than last year, too (which isn't a bad thing). You can tell they're ready for more vendors to come in and build. Can't wait to see what it will look like next year.
Not sure if this link will work or not...

We had a blast! It was great to see everyone again and to see how much this faire has changed since our first visit.
Thanks everyone for a great time before, during and after.
Especially,a huge thanks to Goody, MG and the Baroness for helping us set up our tent before it down poured friday night, and huge Thank You to Goody for helping me tear it down this morning.
Special shout out to Bridger and Keat for doing the spider patrol for me, thanks gentlemen for your assistance.
Tent and tarp are on the line drying.
The rest is staying in the car until I have a little more ambition to put it away.
Oh, and it was nice to meet the new friends we made, including the Dark Cloud group who graciously ate all of our left over food, so we didnt have to drag it all home.
Oh, and I am glad I am no longer a camping virgin. :o
I am off to have a short nap. I am tired, sweaty, stinky, grimey (Sandin' McCrack.. ;)), and itchy, but it was so worth it.
Fa la, Fa la la la.. (thanks to Baron for that, this morning.-girl child wore it out on the way home.)
:-*
PS- Josh did fine at the Vil thing at the BLB last night, but decided he didn't want to pursue it any further. (Too bad, it is a true waste of his sarcastic talents)
