Fellow Folk
After getting the idea from our own webmistress today, I propose we set the date of Feb, 13th 2009 to have a meet and greet for our out of town visitors, coming for Presidents Day weekend. That way we can show off our fine city, as well as our wonderful faire the following day, and give the Comete de Gilbert a better idea how many will be attending our breakfast before opening cannon on the 14th.
What say ye?
Marcos
I like the idea! If start it as a kind of luncheon thing, we can move on from there as everyone gets together and throws out the ideeas of what they want to see. :)
Whoo Hooooooo!! We'll be there!! ;D
Mayhaps I won't be sick this time around!!! :P
Can't wait to see you all again!!
:-*
I basically was saying "mark your calendar" to meet for dinner at Churchill's (as usual) on February 13th....which is the Friday night of President's Day Weekend (Feb 14, 15, 16th).
It certainly isn't gonna be a late night as everyone wants to be up early for Faire on Saturday. If all of our out of towners get in early enough then I'd say it should be 6pm as usual.

Yes, true enough. I was only making a suggestion to the forum that such a gathering would be nice, and I did not want to take credit for the idea without giving credit where it was due.

Sounds like a great idea to me, I'm sure the wife will be in on this too.
We're not 100% sure of our travel plans as of yet but we're pretty sure we'll be leaving the Denver area very early in the morning on Friday (i.e. 3 am or so) so more than likely the fam and I will be rolling into town in early-mid afternoon that day...hopefully we'll get in town in time for some meet n' greet action! :)
We'll be at the meet and greet.
Are we doing a breakfast Saturday morning?
oui madame
I'll be there!
Is this open only to out-of-towners, or are transplants and local first-time Ren Faire participants welcome as well?
bummed that I cannot attend-wont be back in town till 1am sat morn
of course anyone is welcome :)

Dan (does he have a "persona" name?
I believe we need to make sure he either picks one, or we give him one. One way or the other though, he needs to have a persona name.
I know that Dan's Clan is McElvrish (multiple spellings in USA).
As such GracefulCarrie is also half Scottish as a cousin of mine too (Chisholm).
All their impending prodigy will be considered mostly of Scottish descent (because any other Western European mixes would simply not matter ;D).
Hmmmmmmm we'll have fun with this one. :D
Geez, all the Minnesotans are migrating in secret down to AZ...can I come too? ;D

How sad is this...
I can tell you that he does have a profile, but I don't remember what the name is... and he isn't home to tell me right now.
But he almost never gets onto the boards, so ... you might as well make up your own name for him anyway.
Julianne, put me down as tentative for the gathering on the 13th. Thanks!

"Wench!!!....Give me an ale" sounds sexy to me.......but I am part Irish. :o :P
Yikes!!!!
All those planning on coming President's Day Weekend...the forecast calls for cold: high's in the mid 50's (well...cold for us ;)) and wet. Bring your cloaks and boots!!! It will be muddy.
As long as the arroyo's don't flood on the faire grounds then we'll be good to go!

Hmmmmmmmmmmm.........................
Sadness for the parent's issue, I have one of those myself. They make excuses and apologies for the son in law, but just don't get it.
Now the "lady" issue. We will have to see for ourselves if this is even an matter to be discussed, but I have it on good information that all my questions will be answered upon your arrival.

Marcus mon ami, not to pick nits (as we French have no nits) but "mon cher" would be the masculine form, and our dear Zoe is certainly not. I believe you are looking for "ma cher". Being how you fancy yourself a lady's man, I could not allow such a faux pas. Just trying to do my good deed for the day ;D
However, you are quite spot on... Zoe will be well taken care of while visiting

Well, I have been called many things, and I call myself many things, the ones that spring to the front, liar, thief, reprobate, douche, scumbag, and Democrat. But never, ever, ever a ladies man. Never been one, never want to be.
As for the French nitpicking, what do you expect?. My people eat stuff that everyone else throws away, is it any surprise that we butcher the mother language?

I'm going to call Churchill's on Thursday and make the reservation for 14 unless something drastically changes before then.
The Breakfast will be on Saturday morning, February 14th in the VIP parking lot (that's close to the front gates). Come and enjoy with us before cannon!
Would it be awful of me to ask for a tentative addition to the list of 4 for the Churchill's dinner? We're not sure if we'll be making it, depends on when we get into town and all that, but the fam wanted me to put us on the list for a tentative appearance.
Zoe
Churchills is a big place, I am sure we can squeeze in four more when you show.
Marcos
Sorry all, but due to financial difficulties, Brandi and I will not be able to attend this weekend. That's all I got to say about that, yup.

Excellent news...we can't wait
The wife just gave me the news and all I have to say is, God do you guys just rock. There will never be any words or anything we could ever do to make up for what you have done for us this weekend. Love is powerful, but sometimes, it just doesn't seem like a strong enough word.
Lord fig, your friendship will be the only thanks that is ever needed, It will be great to have you guys staying with us, and to see you there this weekend!!
Thanks to all of you! You guys are the best. We are now excited to come down and see all of your smiling faces!!! :-*

No worries!
You have family here that will always be there for you!

Unfortunately, I will not be able to meet y'all at Churchill's tomorrow night. But I will definitely see you Saturday!
Bummer you won't be able to join us Friday Apolonia, but it will be merry met when we shall join for the fun on the Saturday morn.
Okay it's corny but, this is for you guys.
To some there are those who mean so little
But in this group I know that's just drivel
for there is no group in this world
that could make my heart all a swirled
I only wish you could put it's love in a bottle
Apolonia
Sorry you can't make it tonight. :'(
See you at breakfast Sat morning?
Marcos
YAY!!!!! The Figs!!!!!
So glad we'll be seeing you two tonight!!! :-*
Big Loves!!

Got just about everything packed and ready to go. Got several options for garb with us, just in case. Got the last bit in the washer right now, then do the final packing up and loading the vehicle. We should be leaving around 1 here to get there around 5:30ish traffic pending.
Well everything is packed and loaded and we are hitting the road now. See you all soon.
Well,
This was a great time and I was happy to meet so many new faces, and see old friends too. Let's hope the Owain night on thursday turns out as well.

Huzzah! Everyone made it home to Denver safely, if not a little later than we planned. We all had a fantastic weekend and can't wait to come back next year (is it too early to start counting down yet??), and it was wonderful to meet you all and spend time with you at your lovely faire. :) You're all most welcome to visit us at CRF this summer!
I'll post the link to my pictures as soon as they are finished uploading.
I was only able to make it to the last bit of the meet and greet before the gates opened, but it was nice to see you all :)
Glad to hear you made it safely home Zoe. We'll look forward to greeting you next year. We had such a great time, words alone can't express our gratitude to all of you who made it such a wonderful weekend for both of us. It was a pleasure, beyond pleasure, to see everyone again and to meet those we had yet to meet. Can't wait for a return.
