Title: My Daughter needs prayers
Post by: Lady Kathleen of Olmsted on January 17, 2009, 11:21:55 PM

My Daughter, the Chiropractor, is in Las Vegas for a National Conference. Sometime on Friday, her purse was raken from her. The contents contained cash, credit carads, her Blackberry with her phone numbers and connections to her office, her Plane ticket home, as well as her much needed ID. Though she has two of her classmates/good friends with her, she still has obstacles to overcome.

I am sick with worry for her as to how she is going to get home. There's nothing my husband or I can do.  But do say some prayers that somehow she gets back to Minnesota and start her life over again.

She did learn no matter how careful one is, everything can he lost in a blink of an eye.

Glad she has friends there to help. And I hope she is okay.

Cancel cards, turn off phone. Plane ticket can be replaced. Check her home owners or apartment insurance to see if any of this is covered.

Major pain, but she lost things. Things can be replaced. I will pray for her to get through this and return home safely.

I heard from Adrienne via Fscebook. She has the Police report she filed on Friday and got things straightened out with the airline. She also stated that she was able to get a copy of her passport via the Customs Office at McCarren Airport. The rest, she will have to deal with soon as she gets home.

Thanks for the words of comfort, guys. Prayer and its power works.

We prayed for her at church today in the Prayers of the People.  Glad it's starting to look up for her, and hoping for a safe and uneventful rest of her stay and a good flight home.

She's in my prayers as well. I'm glad things are starting to take somewhat of a positive turn for her. She should report to her medical insurance company about this as well. Not only does identity theft happen to "purchase" stuff but it has also been used to get medical treatments and x-rays and such. I wish her well and I wish you and your family peace of mind and heart in this matter.

Hey Lady Kathleen I just found this thread and I must say that I am so sorry to hear about what happened to your daughter just recently.At my job where I work at right now our Deli Manager was just recently a victim of ID Theft and Trust me it took her a long while to get everything recovered so don't feel like you and her are alone in this matter.I am glad however that things are starting to look up for her right now.

She will be in my thoughts and prayers for a peaceful stay where she is at and a safe trip home.

I'm so sorry that she is having to deal with this! {HUGS}
May this serve as a reminder to us all to NOT carry everything in spot when travelling. Drivers liscence and one credit/debit card in one spot and passport and another credit/debit card in a different spot is a good idea.

I hope things are getting better for your Daughter, and that she's back home safe now. I also hope she follows through with the advise others have given. It's very important to keep an eye on things, especially with where the theft happened.

*HUGS* to you both!
