I just got off the phone with the Count and found out that he was admitted to the hospital last night with a blood clot. He says they should know just how bad it is later today and that he'll be in the hospital till Friday.
I know he'll be keeping the nurses on their toes... (That's probably why they gave him male nurses, too much the rogue...)
So, if everyone could keep him in their thoughts for a speedy recovery, I would appreciate it.
Thank you so much!!
~LD
Oh no!
He'll be in my thoughts and prayers!
Of Course The Count is in my thoughts and prayers for a speedy and successful recovery.
Thoughts and prayers of comfort to young Connor as you mentioned he was very concerned about his Dad.
Oh...and I hope the quality of his nurses and roomies improves as well...at least to his liking. The exercise/exertion couldn't hurt! ;)
Seriously, my Best to Him at this tyme.
Oh no .. He's in my prayers and my thoughts.
Terrible.
Oh No ! I just read this ! Prayers going out right away for the you Count , dear friend. Get better soon, and no chasing the female nurses up and now the hall ways ! ;D Seriously, you are in my thoughts and prayers. rest and get better soon ! Hugs ! :) :-*
My prayers go out to Count Adolfo at this time...
Get better soon Cousin
Please keep us posted to how he's doing.
I had the pleasure of meeting him at TN RenDezvous last year. A charming man.
Get well my friend.
Marietta Graziella
*he was one of the very few that actually called me by my name*
He is on my prayer list. Speed Recovery!
Indeed. A speedy recovery and back to good health quickly.
Actually, it's prolly best he has hot nurses to chase up and down the halls. Then we'll all know he is fyne!
Get & stay healthy Count!! :-*
I'll be giving him a call today to check up on him. But he did tell me yesterday that he had 4 cute nurses for about 5 minutes. All the rest since then have been guys... I guess they don't want him to get too excited for fear that his blood pressure might go up and then dislodge the clot... Which could be bad.. ;)
I'll give him everyone's love, to be sure.
He is much too strong a man to stay down for long. Just make sure that he knows we are all here to back him up, with anything he needs, just because we love him. :-* :-*
Ok, here is the update. He's still in, they've put him on blood thinners. It's a bit more serious than they initially thought, so he's not 100% sure if he'll be out by Friday. Sooo... That's what I know at this point. Other than they had him on some pain killer that made him seriously loopy on the phone... :)
Thanks for all the prayers!!
Lady D -
When you talk to him, again, please send him hugs and kisses from me.
:-* :-* :-*
Lady D--
Please send him a Wenchie best wishes when you talk to him. Better now than in the faire season!
I will be happy to pass along the well wishes, ladies. And you are so right, WW. Better now than faire season. At least now he'll be better able to take care of himself... though I wonder how much he'll be able to imbibe...
Tell him that good wishes are coming his way from the wRenHouse...And he's got to get better, he's got that cute son of his that needs to grow up with his dad around!
*late breaking news*
Lady D left a voicemail for me around 2 p.m. Central, 3 p.m. Eastern - that Count Adolpho was being released from the hospital at that time. Apparently, the doctors gave him a fairly good diagnosis - keep on his meds and so forth.
I'm sure Lady D will fill in more details. She was a bit away from a 'puter - but wanted to let everyone know the good news regarding our beloved Count! ;D
Good news!
Thanks Molden! :)
I just found this and after reading was a bit scared and concerned for the Count but was relieved at the good news that he was being released.Count please do take care of yourself my friend and please stay healthy. To borrow a phrase from our good friend Scotsman God Speed my friend.
Huzzah! Thanks for the good news Molden!
I'm glad to hear he's been sent home. Thanks for keeping us updated. :)
My, my, isn't it so wonderful to be loved!
Thank you, all of you...
you are all the best sort of people
wondrous to be so cared about. Anyway... let me give you the skinny:
Apparently somehow I have developed DVT (Deep Vein Trombosis) in BOTH of the main veins of my left leg, in the calf region. Both veins are clotted and they have me on Coumadin to break it up. I have had to cancel my sojourn this weekend to Hoggetown but will attempt to make the impact on my Faire Schedule minimal.
I SHALL be at FlaRF on Valentine's Day for the special event advertised on my myspace... but I am scrubbing (or at least, making minimal effort in) the activities prior to that. I think that amount of rest should get me back on the proverbial horse.
My leg is sore, I bruise easily, and if I get cut, I'll likely bleed to death... I can't overexert myself or risk moving the clot to my lung, brain or heart... and I can't drink much.
Faire season will be affected but I'll still be there.
Thanks ALL of you for your support and you're all in my thoughts as I lie down to get my first good night's sleep in a week!
Wonderous to have you home again, can't have our favorite cousin missing all the fun for the coming year
Glad you're home, Count! Take it easy, see you at BARF!
My mother n'law had a clot in her leg. she has been on Coumadin for almost a year now I think, and it has been helping her. Hang in there dear friend ! Glad you are doing better then you were, and I pray for a full recovery soon. Hey I can't have my birthday twin go disappearing on me now . Who would I have to drink with ! Love and hugs and a kiss to you !
So glad you are home safe. Take care of yourself, and follow all of the doctor's orders. We need you to show us around BARF. :-* :-* :-*
hugs and prayers, take care and hope to see you at MDRF>
Hola My friend:
Just got the wind of this. I thought it was from last year as I knew you had been in the hospital back then as well. then I saw the date. DON'T SCARE ME LIKE THAT. You check out of here before I do and I WILL come get you and drag your rugly weed puller back here. Besides true to my word when last we met at Lady of the Lake I have a staff for you. I will try to take some pictures of it and send them to you. PM me an e-mail address that I can send them to. Take care of yourself and we will see you soon.
The BLAKDUKE
just an update for you all
this is far too boring a way to die for me, so no fears bout me checkin' out
I am, however, in a decent amount of pain and am out of work recovering. I'm following the Doc's orders and trying to use the time wisely (can you say... sewing?)
My first show will be Valentine's Day at FlaRF
I'm resting until then.

Count please do take care of yourself and continue to follow the Doc's orders cause we want you all in one piece for our next family gathering my friend. You are still in my thoughts and prayers though.
It is truly one of life's greatest blessings to me...
to be a part of something so wondrous as this
Oh Geez now he's getting all sappy on us :D
Nah, not sappy...
just was overwhelmed with the number of phone calls, texts, emails, etc.
kinda puts things into perspective.
That's because we love you! Glad to hear that you will be well enough to join us. Take care, and we'll see you at BARF. :-*
Just checking to see if you're still kickin' Count. :)
Just wanted to say I'm thinkin' of ya! I hope you have fun this weekend. Be safe and careful.
I'm just updating this...
I'm still on the rat poison... leg is sore... trying to get off the cane and walk on my own.
I'm not letting it hold me down. I'll see you all at Faire!
Renpocalypse II in ten days!
Sorry to hear the leg is still bothering you my friend. Glad to see it has not hurt your fiesty spirit ! ;D
Hugs ! :-* Hope to see you up this way this year.
Aye!
I will admit, freely, that I pushed myself a bit harder than I probably should have this past weekend...
but I'm of the mind that if I don't push it, I won't heal.
Count my friend I'm so glad to hear that your doing well but am sorry that the leg is still sore. I do hope to see you soon though cousin, hopefully at VARF for the gathering with Clan White.

As my schedule fills up and solidifies, VARF looks unlikely this season... but I am CERTAIN there will be occasion to raise a toast this year sometime.
But thers is always MDRF!! ;D
I hope
I am a fixture there on Labour Day weekend
I don't think Scotsman OR Ulfric would ever allow me not to be there...
Darlin', I must have returned here too late to know about this, (I feel so far out of the loop), but I am soooooo happy to know you're doing much better. I was a bit concerned when I saw in the recent pics that you'd lost weight (Looking HOT, btw!) :) But, I didn't want to say anything.
Well, no checking out for you! And keep getting better. I understand how it is to be down physically, and unable to do the things we love, as I've been in that situation now, which is why I'm not in Tampa! I'm just glad you were able to make it! And, I'll see you there next year! Is it a date?
ABSOLUTELY!!! ;D
BTW, Love, you haven't lost sight of your doublet lately, have you? If so, check your chair. *LOL* {{{Hugs}}}
Well, suppose it's time for another update.
Saw the Doc today...
you know, I'm gonna end up on an episode of House if this keeps up.
They're sending me to a cardiologist. Doc thinks it won't hurt to have them check and see if I still have a heart, apparently. Last I knew, I had a big one... and they're thinking that might factor into all of this.
They're also sending me to a sleep study... apparently I have sleep apnea.
This would account for part of my current symptoms, but not all.
Other potential diagnoses include anemia and thyroid problems. They drew blood today and are running tests.
Even so, my legs are more of a concern to me... because none of this explains the issue there.
You see, the DVT is in my left leg. My left leg is still swollen and discoloured.
Problem is, so is my right one now. The circulation is bad in both legs. They need to figure out why, because if I am clotting even being on thinners, then I have a real issue.
Truthfully, I'm tired of it. I'm so over this, it's not even funny. I've been cleared to go back to work on Monday but I'm not entirely certain that's a good thing. See, one of the symptoms is a fatigue that causes me to just, well, zone. When the nurse called my name the first time to go back and see the Doc today, I didn't even hear her. She had to come back and call me a second time, she said. She saw me sitting there, but I was oblivious to her... she called me "out to lunch"
It's a disconcerting feeling to have this lost time and lack of focus... so I'm hoping they can get to the bottom of it quickly. The theory is that the Apnea is causing me NOT to get good sleep at night... no REM sleep. This leaves me sleep deprived in the daytime and I zone out.
I really hope that's all it is.
When my mom when in for her sleep study it was determined that she was lacking rim sleep as well. As a result she was sleep deprived just like they are saying with you Count so don't feel bad cause your not the only one that this has ever happened to. The main thing is to take it easy and not overdo it. You still remain in my thoughts and prayers my friend.
God Bless!
thank you, cousin
that is very, very, VERY much appreciated.
I am just wanting all of this to be over with.
hey, i thought us " Leos " were suppose to be strong and healthy! LoL !
We all know you have a big heart hon. that's what we love about you ! :)
Will, if you get on" House" atleast you have a doctor who knows what he is doing ! ROFL !
as for staying awake, hmmm..maybe you need to hire yourself some young, cute, nurse to keep you awake ! ;D ;)
seriously, take care of yourself and feel better soon ! You continue to be in my prayers. A big hug to you my friend . :) :-*
now taking applications:
Young, cute, single nurse wanted...
LOL ! i actually have a very, very pretty niece who is graduating from nursing school next month. But i have to warn you she knows how to handle men like you...( LOL :) ;) ), she has been studying karate, and kick boxing for years !
LOl...you are bad sir ! ;D ;D
I know karate
and twelve other Chinese words
I also know how to handle a woman...
and I didn't even have to study kickboxing...
Okay you all are making me jealous with all this talk of young, cute, and pretty nurses. Count I think I just might need to join you in taking applications for the young pretty nurses if you know what I mean. Hey we're M'Cracks and we stick together right. ;D
Aye!
To the family and the fairemily!!!
I also be a Count in need of a Countess
(someday, perhaps... there are some advantages to bein' a single nobleman with some amount of skill with the silver tongue)
Well technically that would count me out dear Count as I am married (my character that is) but my wife is very rarely seen around the shires of England these days so you never know what could end up happening to a handsome Earl such as myself. ;D
Man I hope my wife (The Countess) didn't hear that. ;D

Lord W, dear brother, you are so busted ! Now should I be a nice sister or should I... :-\ ;D
Darn it I should have known that I had spoke to soon. ;D
But, Cousin, if ye 'ave the love of a good woman, ye truly 'ave somethin'
'tis no small feat to win the heart of one worth holdin' close and cherishin' for all ye days...
consider thyself blessed!
Why thank thee my good man. For I had never thought of things that way cousin.
