*posted with permission of Capt. Greybeard*
ARRGH THERE MATEYS,
Graybeard here, Are we ready to put up the winter shovels, snowshoes, and sleds yet?
I know I am, That would mean FRANKENFEAST is just around the corner.so dust of your garb and put it on for the 7th annual Frankenfeast And this year the dance is going to be held in the court yard of the Bavarian inn this year and I've got a block of rooms set up for us at the Bavarian inn motel this year also. the motel was kind enough to give us special rates this year so for all of you who are going to the dance and staying the night, you won't have far to go. all our rooms will be surrounding the court yard this year. so the whole area is ours The court yard is right next to the registration desk. we most likely won't use it, but there is a pool in the court yard. a small one.
April 4th is the date of the feast this year. Dinner will be at the Bavarian Inn restaurant this year at 2:00. happy hour will start about 1:00 in the lobby down stairs.the dance will start at 8:00 at the court yard at the Bavarian inn motel.you can get the rooms for Friday and Saturday, or just Saturday night. I will be sending a separate statement of the group sales managers letter to all for reserving your room at the motel.it tells you everything you have to do to register. there are 41 rooms available.
The restaurant would like a head count so they can get enough waiters and waitresses for the job. so when you r.s.v.p. let me know how many are in your party.
Hope to see you there this year
Captain Graybeard
*and the motel info is below*
A block of rooms has ben set up for our group (see Group Number below, aka 'the Renaissance Group') at the $99 rate for standard rooms and $114 rate for suites.
Because specific rooms have been set up around the Courtyard ahead of time, registrants are requested to make their reservations through one individual in the Sales office. They should call or email Charmaine Whalen at:
Phone: 989-652-8747 extension 3534
Email: cwhalen@bavarianinn.com
Group Number: 1121R3
Char is available every Monday-Thursday between the hours of 8 am – 4 pm. I hope it is not a problem for your group members to call between these times or email Char.
We have our reservations, see everyone there.
We shall be there, cannot wait to see and meet everyone. :)
Oh aye wouldn't miss it!!

We're hoping to go (we want to see you all)...it seems possible this year...but we're still not 100% sure so we haven't made reservations yet.
We'll be part of the boarding party!
Varroooommmmuh mmuh mmuhmmmmmmm
I can hear those sewing machine motors humming away in the frigid evening.
Garb divas? Did you know that as of tomorrow, there's only 8 weeks till Frankenfeast?
;D ;D :D ;D......... :o
Yay....woohoo.....come on ladies, lets cracking on those fancy dresses. Well mine is being made but I still got cracking on my jewellery pieces. :)

Frigid is right. Mine aren't humming quite so much yet as I'm still recovering from our move and it's just
too cold. It's freezing my inclination to sew (it's hard to align 2 pieces of fabric when you're shivering). :P In any case, my outfit for Frankenfeast is already all done and ready to be worn. ;D I've even picked out what I want to wear to the dance part (mostly mundanes for that).
Man! Once again I cannot make the lovely event! And I'm all legal for the good stuff (and by that, I mean ze rum) this year too. :'( Alas, it's right at major project/performance times over at school, but I will certainly go out that night, force me roomies to dress in garb and grab a pint!

hmmmmm..... I wonder who got that job???
My sewing machine never quits... tights... (love a man in tights.... and Lord Dorian BETTER be wearing his new ones!!!!) poet shirts, skirts, corsets, bodices, skirts, everything is going through my machine this month!!
I'm almost done with the new silk gown for this year - but I still have so much more on my 'to do' list - Glad I started early!

You of course and thank you. ;) Can't wait to try it on for fitting. :)
Katie, are you wearing your silk gown to Frankenfeast??
Well... everyone that has seen it thinks that you are going to look great in it... so I a very pleased with that...

Well I cannot certainly wait to wear it especially with all the work in my other things that's going with it, I've put in them so far. :)
I hope to be able to make Frankenfeast this year. Missed it last year. Keeping the fingers crossed. And yes yes, it is that time of year again. Garb sewing bliss!!!
Since my last post, I got shooed over into my sewing area to get sewing again (not that I mind). :D My nice, new, bigger sewing area...
Keeping fingers crossed for Frankenfeast...been too long since I saw you all.

You both are greatly missed and we can't wait to see you...

Aw, thanks.
Your stuff is so beautiful, that's high praise.
Right now, I'm making my eldest son's pirate frock coat. Not that he needs it anytime soon, but it's a fairly quick and easy project with which to ease back into the sewing. My Frankenfeast dress is already made, as I made it for last year, but was unable to go then.
Hugs
Returning back to the topic... I shant be able to join everyone this year, because I have to work. :'(
Lady Ann You will be missed.
I will miss everyone as well. I may come up to the after party in the evening ;D
Lady Ann you must attend or how else can we have a Where is Lady Ann post! Hope you can make the party.
As an update on our Frankenfeast attendance, we now have our room reserved at the Bavarian Inn Lodge. ;D
Looking forward to seeing you all. :)
Does anyone know if rooms are still available? I keep forgetting to call during the designated hours on the designated days (meaning I only think of it nights or weekends)!

When I called a few days ago, they did still have some available...but I'm not sure exactly which ones.
waaah! Won't be able to make it this year, as BARF isn't over until the 5th. Will miss you all, but know you will have a grand time!
We shall remember to raise a glass in your honor .....
or two!
oh yea.... two sounds soooo much better...
and with all of the wonderful photographers that we will have there, I am sure that there will be photo's a plenty ....

I will do my best ;D
Are there any other Dragonriders of Pern fans going to the Feast? :)
The Benden Weyrleaders will be at the dance, while the Duke of Cardiff and Princess Edit will be at the Feast. :D
I haven't read those books in years...... lol....
Since this would be my first time to this event, I'm unsure of protocol. Does a post here equal an RSVP? There would be three of us. The other two live near Lansing, so no hotel rooms are needed.
Thanks,
Will
Nope Graybeard be handling the din din reservations - ye should email him mate.
A good point though
Hotel reservations are handled via the first post in this topic by talking directly with the hotel.
Dinner reservations are handled by Graybeard himself. For those that have not RSVPed to him now may be a good time to do so.
Thanks! But now I'm a bit confused. The only Graybeard I found on this forum is Capt. Hunnar Graybeard in Kentucky. Am I looking in the wrong place? I did send a renmail to Katie, as she posted Graybeard's original notice. Is that sufficient, or is there an email address that can be posted here?

I've got William covered for the 'count me in for lunch' reservation.
FYI - Greybeard can be emailed directly HERE: wolfroom1@aol.com
However, since I sent yours in, Will, you might want to skip that part. Being a pirate, he's good at adding, but not complicated math (e.g. SUBTRACTION) and may become somewhat confused if you RSVP twice.
Now for the Hotel Reservations, please see below, from the hotel staff:
I have set up a block of rooms for your group at the $99 rate for standard rooms and $114 rate for suites. Within your room block we have- 12 King Rooms, 5 Suites, and 24 doubles. This includes all the rooms that surround the Courtyard for a total of 41 rooms.
Because we needed to block specific rooms around the Courtyard ahead of time I am going to ask that your registrants make their reservations through one individual in the Sales office.
I truly believe this will cut down on any confusion by using one individual for all the reservations.
Hope that helps Will and everyone who was curious and had not yet made the reservation.
Hope to meet you all there - a grand time will surely be had by all. ;D
Many grammercies for your help, Katie! We look forward to meeting you as well.
Excellent well Katie - great job
