Dan and I could come for a bit on a Saturday afternoon of the 7th or 21st.  Obviously we would not be staying over as I have to be at work bright and early on Sunday mornings, but we would love to hang out (and I would love to sew) during the day on a Saturday with all of you.
We miss you all now that we live "in the south" and don't get to play very often.

Sounds fun.  I love to work for a few hours.  I hate to leave the kids with a sitter the whole day or over night but a few hours would be fun to get something done.

Sounds like things are filling up quickly.

THe 21st is absolutely out.  It's the weekend The Gang is doing our quarterly birthday party.  (You all met them last year at fest and at some of the parties.)

Can we pull this together in time for the 7th?
Do we want to do it twice and try for the 28th, as well?

I'm totally in sewing mode.  Went to JoAnn's yesterday and bought 24 yards of yummy stuff.  Of course it's all wools and corduroys-I was cold.   ::)  Had a bit of sticker shock when she said the total.  Yikes!

I hate to put this in writing as it's a lil embarrassing but on the 7th I'll be at the Bret Michael's concert so that's out for me but I'll be in MPLS to babysit on the 28th so that would work for me to attend Sat afternoon into the evening. Not sure what I'd sew although I could certainly use some opinions on patterns and fabrics that I have.

Sleepy and I will be in Vegas for the 7th but you go ahead if you can get enough people together to have some fun.  I just looked and it's 50 there right now.  I hope it gets warmer before we get there.

Dan and I can't do the 28th as it will be the only time in the month of February that we have Hannah overnight. Plus we don't want to mess up anyone else's fun by bringing along the little one.  But I say if more people can make it on the 28th then do it by all means.  There will be other times to hang out in the future.  And I can (sometimes) do a good deal of sewing down here as there isn't much else to do but work.

I'm sorry you won't be able to make it, Carrie.  I was thinking about you yesterday while I was buying wools at JoAnn's.  I was thinking about your dress made of the super soft but also warm fabric.     Is that silly?   :D

I am thinking the 28th would work better for me, as the next two weeks will be crazy getting ready for AZ!!! Yay!!!

Don't have any projects started at the moment, but I'm sure I can come up with something!!

Not silly at all MG... I love that fabric... it was wool/cashmere blend, and its still my favorite fabric ever.  Now if only I could find the time to make the little adjustments to the dress so that it fit better.

Got this from one of the local E-lists I'm on

We've reduced ALL our wools and corduroys by 30% because let's face it,
the cold isn't leaving anytime soon.  Come to Treadle and find the
perfect fabric to keep you cozy and warm until the thaw comes.  It will
   come, won't it?

The 28th works here!

I have a bunch of little stuff I'm working on....  But this would be a great opportunity to start The Blue Dress I've been putting off.

As usual, I won't be able to make it.  We will probably still be moving boxes and none of my sewing stuff will be unpacked yet.  One of these times I am going to move the earth so I can actually come to something!

The 28th works for me now that danceline season is over.  Would love a Mom's day out stitching and bitching.  That will give me ample time to decide what to sew and get it cut out etc.

I will bring chocolate.

Is it BYO sewing machine?  My chunk of metal is iffy at best, so it may be hand sewing for me.  ;)
oooooo, or knitting!  :D

yea, I'm not much for sewing any more.  I was thinking a nice knitting project.  Something that doesn't require much thought.

I will be there too, although not at eight am.   That is just way too freakin' early for me.  I will probably roll in around ten or so.

Since I have only 1 working machine, yes, it's BYO machine.  It sounds like there will be a couple of knitters, though.  Lots going on-sounds terrific.

I know, I know.  8 is really early.  I just put that so you'd know you could arrive any time of the day-pretty much.

Since we'll be needing food for lunch and dinner and snacks, just pot luck something that can work all day or we can throw into the oven when we're ready to eat.  I sort of envision food stuffs being out and available all day long.    I don't buy bottled water but we have water from the fridge door so it's been filtered twice.

I hope I'm not too hungover for this as my friends having her housewarming (just down the block so all I gotta do is stumble home!!) on Friday night.

I'll be practicing some stitching at work tonight and have done alotta reasearch for period patterns so now I gotta transfer my patterns and I'll be ready to do some (hand) stitching (the b*tching requires no research. that comes naturally!) So I'm excited!

So... by mere coincidence, Dan's ex has asked to exchange weekends as they have visitors coming in.  Dan politely agreed, and just today I realized what that means...
Dan and I could actually come for at least part of the afternoon!  So, I am not certain if I will be bringing a ton of sewing with me or not, we will see what I can dig up, and whatever we bring will have to be something that needs no refrigeration as it will be in the car all morning while we have Hannah.
Dan is allowed to come right???  Just wondering as I have seen mainly female responses.

If its all good we should be there by 1 or so and will probably head back out around 7 to go to a friend's hockey game before heading south for the Sunday services.... I should probably run this past Dan too, but I am sure he will be up for it as it will mean hanging out with friends again.

Well, I can add myself to the list male attendees.  But it will be just me for the afternoon.  Nyte asked for the day off, but they wouldn't give it to her.

I really wish I could go (working on a little project) but we have tickets for the food and wine show thing on Saturday.

In other news Mill End has a 40% off coupon that is good from 3/1-3/7.

Kurt and I went fabric shopping this weekend, started off at Treadle in St Paul (bought some neat wood button things), went to Jo-ann, up to SR Harris and then ended up 5 blocks from home and picked up a few things at Mill End.  It was a lovely afternoon, but we could have saved a lot of time/gas if we had just started there.

Yes, I specifically iced my hands before helping to fit your bodice.  It's just another of the many services I provide.  ;D

Always love a get together.  We need to plan them much more often so I actually get some sewing done.  Ugh.  Here's hoping!

As of now, the shineys are all put away.  *sigh*  No more pretty rainbows on my walls and ceilings.
