I can't wait!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's SO long from now!!!!
I know. I can't wait either!

lol - I miss the festival!! :'(
33 weeks from Saturday (February 21)
Still way too far away!! I can't wait though....I'm going for at least two Saturdays this year!!!! Hopefully more!
I'm going every Saturday & Sunday, like I've been doing for the past 4 years now.
I'd LOVE to be able to do that, but I've not got enough money to afford the gas and tickets for every weekend. :'(
I buy a Regent Seasons Pass (includes a V.I.P. Parking pass) and I only live about 25 minutes away..
Ah...I don't even live in the same state! Though, I'm only about 2 hours away, so I'd gladly drive it every weekend...but I can't afford to.
The real key is that I count days since we last attended CRF as well as how long until CRF opens again...Oh to be in Fairehaven.
heh...I'll get a fix when we head to GARF for Memorial Day weekend.
I'm heading to GARF on May 9th...can't wait!!!
Opening weekend at GARF here! April 18th & 19th!
I think I'll be able to go to GARF one weekend in May.. hopefully Memorial Day weekend, like last year.
30 weeks from March 14 (Saturday)
28 weeks until Opening Day!
Hey Tess, how many weeks?
That's still WAY TOO MANY!!!! CRF ROCKS!!!!!
;DI can't wait til CRF, like to see some old friends!!! ;)
Funnily, last night i was poking around with my 2008 photos and started wondering how long till the gates open again...
Hiii guys. My name's Chelsy, but I'm generally known as Chela or Chelamarie around here. My home faire is TNRF (or even KYHRF, since I'm from Kentucky) but this year, I think I'm going to try to make it to CRF! I'm going to be attending Charleston Southern University in the fall-- which is the problem. Roughly guessing, it seems like 4 hours from Charleston, which is a looooong way for a freshman in college with no car! But I'm gonna try to be there, so I figured I'd drop by and say hello. :]
Yikes, that is quite a drive (Google says 3.5ish hours) Hopefully you'll at least be able to make a weekend out of it instead of doing all that driving fora day!
and wandering out of the inky darkness... the man-in-black returns to the scene.
Looking forward to attending this year as well.
Hope to see you all there.
Don't think we saw you last year Vincenzo... welcome back.
You know guys...
I think this is gonna be a season ticket year... :-[
Oh yeah!
Don't forget to spring for the extra ten bucks for VIP parking. We'll need the extra vehicles for the end of the year tailgate during invasion weekend.
Hard to believe that after the big Labor Day gathering at Maryland, CRF will almost be just around the corner.
I've been thinking, and I've decided that I could *totally* make the commute from school to CRF every weekend this year! After all, Maine isn't *that* far away, right?

NOT
Just a dirty dozen weekly showers till opening....
Weekly showers? guess you have to get ready early.
I have auditioned for CRF cast this year. Thoughts, advice, etc. would be appreciated as this is uncharted waters for me
No advice to offer, but will keep my fingers crossed!
Of course, I do worry that being "on cast" will ?inhibit? my other faire activities --- and I *do* so hate to be inhibited.
I was going to mention that detail Vincenzo.....most unfortunate.
Best of luck with the auditions. It will be a pleasure to actually see you there next season ;)
I too am already dreaming and scheming of the fall!
Lady Mikayla, I miss you dreadfully.
So then - my concern about ... inhibitions (anti-imbibment / non-inebriation ) is accurate. Hmmm... Maybe I'll need to *not* be on cast for certain days.
That is correct. No drinking if you are on cast. I believe it's no smoking either unless you use a period smoking device. Of course you can always smoke ciggys during break back stage if you require.
As a cast member, from what I've seen, I can say that it probably would be highly frowned on by management for you to 'switch' , sorry.
... There are alcohol permit considerations that allow for -very- little tolerance for staff indulging, even when we're 'off-duty'
if you really hate to be inhibited... on-cast is not the best choice, really...
still, if you're willing to work under the strictures, it's a -blast- and I wouldn't miss it for the world.

by "
off-duty" do you mean "
after hours"? I'm not dependent on imbibement to function or enjoy (besides, how could I properly mock the stumbling drunks if I
was one?) Not drinking on "breaks" certainly makes sense...However, after hours sitting at camp I feel my time is my own and if I want a flagon of mead, I believe that isn't anybody's concern but my own (provided of course that I act reasonably and responsibly)
Vincenzo I'm sure they meant "off-duty" but still on site during faire hours.
Otherwise, how would you be able to party with the Clan M'Crack at the Galway Hooker during invasion weekend!

Exactly my point Master Hibernian... how indeed.
The way I've always been told....after cannon is your time. That being said Mgt doesn't want you to do anything destructive towards the Faire, property, patrons etc. The main thing about drinking is if you are on cast, on grounds, between cannons it's a nono.
I'm pretty positive it's the rule but someone please correct me if I am mistaken.

And that all seems reasonable. Of course destructive behavior is a No No - at any time.
You're in trouble then Vincenzo.....what about all those hearts you'll break next season? ;)
FF his ego is big enough, :o don't make it any bigger
Well now - I guess THAT makes it easy for me to tell who my friends are. ;) So then...no more back rubs for Pinn.
And, my ego is certainly not too big. Perhaps you meant my Rapier, which (I am told) exceed "standard issue" size - though I don't go about comparing...
Its after Labor Day so I have started the annual attendance tote board. Please sign in with the weekends you will be in attendance!
Thank you.

Lady Mikayla, I miss you dreadfully.
I too am looking forward to seeing you very very soon!!!
Aww. I was looking forward to attending this year, but, unless something drastically awesome happens, I'm not going to get the chance. I don't have a car (my ride backed out on me) and I can't exactly walk up there from Charleston. Sigh.
Two weeks and two days to go. Impatience is a big ugly monster and it's riding my back.
It was a dangerous mission, but my compliments to High'n and his lovely who visited the Galway Hooker to make sure we were good for Invasion Friday and Saturday nights.
They tasted the adult beverages, sampled the food and spoke with the Management. We have been assured that the center table will once again be ours for invasion weekend. A second line of tables along the front wall, still within earshot of the main table but a wee bit quieter (depending upon who is sitting there) has also been secured. Management has also been warned to order kegs of Guinness!
Looking forward to seeing everyone in Fairhaven real soon! Invasion the final weekend will be great.

Isn't it? Especially the way the weather turned today. 50 degree mornings screams CRF time to me.
Have to agree on the current weather.
Cool and crisp mornings and evenings but just warm enough in the afternoons. Now if I could just add a bit of mist on the fields in the morning with the sound of the pipes coming from beyond it would be perfect.
