You guys were BRILLIANT! I was all the way over at the seahorse and had to come over to see you that day. It was pretty late in the day and you were all "fairly well on into your cups" as me Nana would have said. As such you were all pretty much in conversation amongst yourselves and didn't get a chance to speak with ya'll.

Well, I managed to get some much needed morning rest, get my priorities covered and get to faire by 2:00PM! I'm so glad I made the trip up. It was so good to see all of you that I managed to see and to hear Empty Hats and Cantiga play. The cider wasn't bad either. :) I'll be there bright and early next Saturday if I can at all manage it.

I'm back from faire and curled up under the comforter trying to warm up. Brrrrr it was cold, but as always good to see and make new friends at faire.
Tried a new wine today. Our pubs sell Florida wines in all sorts of fruit flavors...blueberry, mango, pineapple etc. I decided upon the honey wine. Not as heavy as a meade. Really good. :)
Took a few digital shots, I'll post those tonight and took my canon out and shot a roll of film at the chess match. It'll take me a few days to get that developed onto a disk. Hope I got some good shots of you all fighting. A good show!

Well, there are going to be ALOT of R/F folks from Tampa and all over the country coming in for the March 13/14 weekend. The McCrack invasion , LJ's birthday, and a couple of others coming in just for St. Pat's.
That might be a very good weekend. HOWEVER, I would suggest getting everyone together EARLY as the libation will begin promptly...
As I recall from St Pat's invasions in the past getting the revelers to faire early wasn't an easy task. If we are talking about a picture comemmorating that particular weekends invasion then I'd suggest Sunday afternoon of that weekend. Perhaps if there are plans for tea with Madge or at the smoker nearby we could plan to have that photo taken there. That would be the 3 to 4 zone, Madge and the ladies of her court will be there I beleive 3:30 to about 4:30 for tea. Simple enough.

Well, this Satuday (March 7) I actually get to go to BARF!
I missed all of last season, and I was afraid I'm miss this entire season as well, because I really need to be at my son's soccer games so he doesn't suffer from the same deep-seated psychological problems that I do (I know, TMI).
But his March 7 game was canceled, so I'll be there with my wife and oldest daughter. See you soon!

Can you get the Round World contingent over to Things from Rings around noon for a meet and greet/picture? We tried opening weekend, but it was more greet, less picture.
Everyone else, can you all try to come by there at noon on Saturday (and Sunday too if thats the only day this weekend that you are going to be there.)
As for me, soccer is over this weekend so starting next week I can make Sunday's again (although having a day to recover before work has been nice!)

I'm sorry I kept missing lots of people and missing the pub ruckus - don't know how it happened. The hubby and I stopped at several pubs but I guess everyone had already moved on. We were very busy checking out the faire I wasn't paying attention. Oooo...pretty shinies.... The hubby bought a bootleg kit - gonna be funny when he takes it through airport security.
We were impressed at the size and layout of the faire. Mostly a tent faire but you guys got it right. Are the wooden structures dismantled at the end of the season or is it a permanent location?

What will instrument will you be playing with them? Are you the new violinist? We're so glad to be booked the for the next 3 weeks. They live with us during the week and got the call yesterday.

I had such a nice day at faire yesterday. Really nice to meet you Mickey :) and good to see all of you that I had the good fortune to share a bit of faire time with. :) As alway the day went by way too quickly.

For the Wenches, we are hoping to have a full on Wench walk and an invasion upon the pubs! Meet at the Hostel/Things from Rings this Sunday by 4:30.
Just a bynote, but consider visiting the food booth being run by the Viva Las Chicas. Our faire has graciously allowed them to collect proceeds from sales and tips for their breast cancer awarness events and walk this summer. Their booth is the one at the left of our faire near the small pub there. They have a really yummy California chicken wrap with guac and ranch...good stuff. :)

I had the opportunity to hear Falcone sing this weekend as I was "resting up" from a great deal of imbibing (ha!) and must say I was quite impressed! I also got a cute pic of Falcone and a beautiful young gypsy. :)

Well, firstly, as a single parent, I want to thank every one of you for your kind words... because you've no idea how proud it makes me to hear them... I am either doing something incredibly right...

Wenchie, yes, it was "That's Amore"... I taught him the words prior to going down to FlaRF several weekends ago and he is probably the only 8 year old walking around almost daily singing or humming a Dean Martin tune... lol
He really wanted to sing it a lot more this past weekend, but circumstances didn't allow. We were only there on Sunday and then, well, I am not quite fully mobile yet. I'm working on it, though.
I have to say, Seamus... aye... he's a quick study... lacks any fear of making a fool of himself and takes on every wooing as a challenge. He also still has all his hair and no beer belly.
Kate... the lass in that picture... she met him a couple of weekends back but was not in garb... she promised she'd come back in garb and there she is. Later in the day, after that pic was taken, we were in a tent looking at some jewelry and the lass walked by. He saw her, walked out and watched as she was walking by... looked at me and said:
"Papa, she walked right by me!"
She heard him, turned around, RAN over and hugged him, planted a kiss on him and said "I love you" ??? :o
