Title: Swing Dancing
Post by: Marietta Graziella on April 19, 2009, 08:11:25 AM
I know we usually do pub nights, which are always marvelous, but we're trying something new.

This Thursday, April 23rd, VV and I are heading down to the Wabasha Caves for 6:00pm lessons and 7:00pm big band music and swing dancing.

Anyone else interested in joining us?  Should be a great time!

With tights don't you "swing" to the other side???

I know I shouldn't talk dressing up the way I do. But you said it and it had to come out.  ::) :P ;D

We've been to the caves a couple times to listen to the band.  Karlie used to work with one of the trumpet players.  No dancing though, as I'm all left thumbs when it comes to that... ;)

We're planning to hit the pub not far from there for some apps and ales, then over to the caves by 6:00 if anyone wants to brave the evening with us.  I've never been swing dancing so it should be a bit of an adventure.  Come on just for the music and to watch other people fall down!

Don't want to swing dance?  Then just meet us at the pub about 5:00pm for a nibble and a giggle.

How was it MG? I would love to go to something like this!!!

Something tells me Bacardi might not agree with me on the dancing part.. but *pppbbbttt* sounds like a blast to me!!!!

Even if there was no dancing just to listen to the band!!  :)

I wanna see pictures, I've heard the stories and they sound pretty darn good to me. *wink wink nudge nudge*

No photographs please, it's unsafe for the new dancers to have flashing lights going off when they're trying to count and not get tangled in each others arms.  ::)

Had a blast!  The music was marvelous.  The band's median age must've been close to 75 but they sure rocked it.  Incredible.

Would love to do it again-soon!

There's a new dance studio that opened in our neighborhood, but the wife has been working so many late hours since she was promoted (no promotion goes unpunished) we haven't seriously checked it out. http://www.socialdancestudio.com/
