I am looking to work the festival this year, at a booth or something. I LOVE the festival and I've wanted to work it for the past 3 years, and this year I finally can work it out with my Week job. I've sent in an application, but Havent heard back yet. Anyone have any tips for me? or How long it takes to hear back? Greatly appreciate it :)
Prepare to wait until about the last weekend of May at the latest. Sometimes it takes them a while to get back to you. My first year working there I didn't get hired until the Monday before Festival. It gets crazy sometimes!
also, if you are looking for any booth, a lot of them post available positions outside the admin trailer
There's quite a few openings in the soda booth where I used to work, haha.
The shops normaly post the help wanted the last week of May. There is not vary many people up here yet!
Try the bulletin board that is always a good place!
Thank you Everyone :D
As of Thursday, when I was last on site, there was only one flyer posted on the bulliten board. As we all know, it's usually overflowing with 'help wanted' ads, so give it time.
I'll post here more next week if I see more notices posted on the board.
Thank you :) I really appreciate everyones help.
I got my letter today to go in for an interview! What can I expect? Should I be going in my costume?
It's really not an interview, it's just a general orientation kind of thing after which the PTB will let you know (hopefully) where you are working. You don't have do go in costume, but you're welcome to.
Great! Thanks :)
Think of it as an interview where you bring lots of sandwiches. I like mustard and mayo... oh, and it wouldn't hurt to bring some potato salad and ice water. And a napkin. Right now I'm eating a corn chip.
So you're saying I should probably bring sandwhiches with mayo & mustard? And Corn chips? And a Napkin, and potato Salad......
And rum, don't forget that.
...and some mineral water... and some cheese- just enough for everyone- and a hat... and a boat for Zoe and her rum
Oh Wont forget the RUM! I am a pirate after all. :D mmmmm rum
Rum eh? That's silly- real men drink milk...
But Real Women Drink Rum ;D
I like her answer better
For those interested, there's a few more notices on the board in front of the main office on site. I think I saw 5 signs up when I left site for the first time in two weeks last night. (Yay for a day off!)
Just a word of advice.. park in the parking lot and walk up to the board... site crew is insanely busy right now and the area in front of the office is often full of site equipment/trucks/things-with-big-disel-engines, and you will probably get yelled at if your car is in their way.

Then you have ruined perfectly good rum
or perfectly good milk- which is the only of the two you can have while working at the festival...

Where does one get chocolate hamsters?
I have a few chocolate hamsters stashed away, no worries.
Ahhh- chocolate bunnies are okay, but we can't have chocolate hamsters now... :'(
Zoe, I'll have one please.
Sir Garath- the flask fillers will let no trouble stand between 'em, especially when it comes to chocolate hamster rum.
I got a job working in Merchandise :) I was hoping to get somewhere where tips may be possible. Gas money is going to be an issue >.<
Dats it! I'm hiding my hamster. *hmms* How does one go about milking one of those little things anyways?
