Hi all!
I am sorry I have not been around so much lately, but TNRF has been in full swing, as well as my oart-time and full-time jobs.
I have been seeing wonkey in my left eye for a couple of weeks, and having headaches EVERY SiNGLE day! I was going to wait till TNRF is over, but driving is kinda crazy. It's like I'm looking through saran wrap.
You see, I was born with cataracts, had them removed at 6 weeks old, then had lens implants in both eyes, then had scar tissue fixed in the left, the pressure skyrocketed, then had to have the eye cut open to remove the debris. So, the left eye has gone through some trauma! heh!
Well, I went to the doc wednesday, I have three things going on.
1. A piece of my Iris has detatched and stuck to my lens implant. (Probably minor)
2. A LOT of floaters for my age. Again, from trauma
3. A Retinal Membrane, like a scar tissue, has formed over the retina. Major. Leave it be, you WILL loose the vision. Do the surgery, it is not without risks. It is like peeling a convex grape, but finer. Yikes!
To me, there is no option to not fix it. So, number three is the door we pick! ( to fix first) number two MAY be able to be fixed in the process.
so, im a bit nervous, it is MAJOR eye surgery, could turn into an overnight stay, big risks, etc.Not to mention hubby is in month five of unemployment and I may have to be out for a while.
:-[
I will go to see a Retinal Specialist on June 1st, so I shall know more then....
Thanks for letting me share!
Lots of hugs and prayers for you darlin, I understand the wonky eye issues :(
If you need anything lemme know
Prayers and good thoughts headed your way.
Lady Catherine you are in my thoughts and prayers my dear.
God Bless you and Big hugs to you lass.
Thoughts and prayers headed your way. Good luck to you !
You'll be in the wRenHouse prayers, also, Lady Catherine!
hello all! thanks for the prayers!
I wnet to the retina specialist who diagnosed a retina membrane( scar tissue). he said it has pulled on my retina and caused Macular cysts. He did tell me that this can detach or tear my retina. He told me that he does not want to do surgery given my gistory with this eye's surgeries and complications. But, I am nervous about leaving it alone.........
so, he perscribed a series of drops, one with steroids. Now, a week and a half later, I CAN see better, no stained glass look. But, it still does have blurriness, and light sensitivity and a new complication. I am seeing a very bright round light in the center of my vision when I close my eye when not looking at a light source, as well as more flashing lights. This isnt one of the warning signs he said to look for with a detachment, but Im worried it may be a pre-cursor.
I'm supposed to go back on the 22nd, but I may call my regular optometrist tomorrow
thanks so much!

hi all!
I called today to my regular optemitrist. He said that he got back my notes from the specalist( who was anything but helpful). He would like to try to hold off on any surgery if my vision stabilizes at 20/50- 20/60.
Again, I go back to the underlying problem is not being solved. two issues caused by the scar tissue:
1. I am having a very large bright spot in the center of my vision, which he says is the scar tissue pulling on my retina, and he stated "we need to get something done about that."
2. the cysts will come back, because it is caused by the scar tissue pulling on the retina. ackk!
so, i have moved it up to next tuesday. x fingers x
My Lady Catherine please know that my prayers are with you on your upcoming eye doctor visit. Please let us know how that goes and please to continue to keep us updated on how you are doing.
Hugs and love to you as always Dear Lady.
You are on my prayer list. Strenght, courage and patience to you.
I understand the fear of losing your vision. Both of my parents had macular degeneration, and I am diabetic. I wish you the very best, and will continue to send thoughts, prayers and healing energy your way.
