Only five more days! Making sure the garb still fits and making a list of what I need to pick up during the first weekend for garb changes. Hopefully this finds everyone excited and ready for the first weekend.
And remember...
have fun...cause if you aren't, your doing something wrong.
My sister will be visiting for her very first time this year on the 2nd weekend. Make sure you say hello to me sis Kelly. She is a beautiful tall blonde and is coming in garb dressed almost gypsy like similiar to Candice Night's style.
As for me I am putting the finishing touches on some gloves I and my mother made. They will match my new gown and I have one fully done and will finish the other this week after work adding the gold trim to the edge. I am then just waiting for my skirt, underskirt and bodice to arrive early this week from adjustments that had to be made to make a better fit on me.
Looking forward to Saturday and seeing you all there. Say hello and stop us. I know some of you but not all of you.
I ripped one of my black skirts right on the bum this weekend at orientation so I will have to fix that, although I think on Saturday I shall be pulling out the bright yellow garb to ring in the first day, so I have time to work on that. My parents are coming on Saturday I believe, and while I'm not entirely sure which set of garb they will be wearing, trust that it will be green!
I'll have less time to get out and socialize this year, but y'all know where to find me! (If you don't, it's the pop booth right next to the royal pavilion, by turkey legs!) If I'm not out from you can ask for me and I'll pop my head out to say helloooo.
Can't wait...
I started packing yesterday. Faire will be the start of my vacation so it isn't just garb getting packed. Garb does take up a lot more room than t-shirts and jeans, even without armor.
Where we are staying was 34 degrees last night, so have to pack warm clothes too. Should be a nice change from the 90s here.
I'm ready. Just 2.5 more days of work till I leave.
Yes, the weather has been pretty cool here the last few nights. I don't expect it'll last long, but this is Colorado and you must pack for all the seasons! Haha.
Yes pack for cold weather but don't be surprized when its 100.
Considering the time of year...pack for rain. :)
and if it starts off hot pray for rain by 3 to cool things down and give you a second wind.
For gods sake there was snow where I am!
Shhh.....do you want to scare them people traveling from the south with the snow talk in June.
Ok, no more talk about the s word. We want warm and rainy.
Actually we can skip the rain unless it is a 30 minute to 1 hour NICE... not downpour rain storm. Overcast now that would be nice but I remember a day last year it was overcast and in the 50's and everyone was complaining how cold it was. Now me I walked outside at 6:30 am this morning and thought the 45 degree temp at my house was perfect.
As for the S word... can happen and does especially in the higher elevations. Just think how beautiful our mountains will look with that white stuff still on top when the folks from down south come north.
OH and the 7 day weather outlook (YEAH as IF you could REALLY trust that in this sate) shows
Friday Mostly clouded with possible rain showers and thunder storms 52 in the evening with possible rain
Saturday High 74 with possible thunder storms in the am and 72 with rain showers in the PM
Sunday 77 with some cloud cover in the am and 52 with possible raininthe pm
Once again DO NOT trust this... but then again best bet says to trust this. :)
Mountains with white stuff on them......hmm is that the same as cleavage with whipcream on them?
:o ??? ??? ??? ??? :-[ ::)
UMMMMMM NO

It's usually not bad, but when you're stuck in one location in that 50 degrees without the ability to walk and get warm, it gets kinda chilly. :)
It was freezing that day. I don't mind a little rain, but it does kill business quite a bit. So I'd rather the threat of rain not come through.
But i thought the rain would send the cute boys to hide under the overhangs of the booths to stay dry and make it easier for you ladies to catch them?
Unfortunately, no. It just sends the smokers and the inconsiderate people who sit on our counters forgetting that we're still in business.
dont forget the annoying people who think they can go where they want in your shop :-\
But some times the cooler days are fun because people are baking and grumpy
Actually, it does help me catch the boys :]
Why would they be running from you?
Haha well this year I'm not selling yummie fishies, I'm selling hats. Less men? :(
Sorta depends on the hat.
I would think it depends on what's under the hat.
But what if said man Had no hat?
Then we'd slyly pull him in the direction of the hat shop.
Maybe said man dosn't want a hat?
Then maybe the man gets a sunburned scalp. That would not be good.
Much better to be Manhattan
Now, there's three more days. Looking forward to meeting the new cast and seeing a few familiar faces.
