Just wondering what everyone's MiRF schedule is like. We will be there Sat. Sept. 26th... that will be our only day until next year.
Our day is Opening Day, my hubby, daughter Claire and I will be there with our baby daughter Lucy, she has her 1st birthday party in the castle, should be a fun day. :)
Some dates are chosen (labor day weekend, and opening day, closing day). Other days depend on which Saturday/Sunday are available. But the BF and I should be there at least once every weekend. :)
I know for sure I'm showing up the Sunday of opening. The other dates are in flux, but definitely two more times, at least!
Well, my contract says every day... ;)

We'll be there most days, last year missed only Muddy Sunday.
Definitely opening weekend and Labor Day weekend.
Probably closing weekend.
Hopefully a few other weekends in between. :)
Pretty sure my contract says the same things Dale's contract says....so I'm there every weekend....enjoy
The Kid and I will be there every Saturday for certain.
The first three weekends we'll be there for the whole weekend. After that I'm sure we'll be down every weekend, just not sure right now which day. Oh there is one weekend in there...Sept 19 and 20, I think, we won't be at faire at all. Hubby is in a highland game up on Beaver Island.
I'll be there the first three weekends everyday. After that I'll be there only on Saturday, but subject to change. I have to work one of the days on the weekend starting in September, but I'm not sure which day yet.
See you all soon!
Well, I'll probably be there every day I'm not working... so most every Sunday... maybe a few Saturday mornings..
I'm guessing we'll be there one day each weekend or close to it. But it will depend on cash flow and the days I end up working. I'm hoping it will be a fun season. Our kids are really excited and ready to go. The sewing is moving along nicely, finished outfits are showing up on hangers and our trip to Silver Leaf really got everyone fired up for MIRF.
Jon.
Hopefully sometime in September, second or third weekend.

Don't forget to let us know as soon as you nail it down - there'll be a pint waiting for you!
;)
I'll be there on every Saturday.
Thanks, Katie! Looking forward to visiting Hollygrove again and meeting some fellow Wenches. I can't wait to get back to the Guinness Pub! 8)
We will be there every weekend
Looking like every sunday opening day and all of labor day weekend. Think I am camping that weekend too.
I will be there Saturday, Sept 5th and Saturday, Sept 12th. I hope to see some of you lovely folks again!
Anna, it will be nice to see you again. If I'm not mistaken, you came during the monsoon last year did you not? We met at the pub I remember for sure, but the day I'm not positive. If I'm right about the day, lets hope the weather is more kind to you this visit.
Oh, yes indeed. I met you on monsoon day last year. Thank you, I hope the weather will cooperate as well and I look forward to seeing you and your lovely lady again!
Possibly this Saturday if it don't rain.
There may be a chance that we'll be there Sunday... most likely in 'dane clothing though. Tis going to be a very fast weekend for us but we're hoping to get to take my nephew to faire this season.

For right now, Weather.com is saying partly sunny to sunny for the 5th - 7th with high temps in the lower to mid 70's

Im so glad I'm not the only one who comes home from faire sunday and checks the weather for the next weekend. And I am thinking partly sunny to sunny and 70 is sounding pretty perfect for our Labor Day weekend....HUZZAH!!!!
I sure hope the forecast and the weather does turn out that way, but not to get negative, but to keep it real we do have 4 days to wait and see. Let's keep our fingers crossed.
Yep, let's cross those fingers and pray for lovely weather since I've been convinced (like that was hard) to come out and enjoy another Sunday, so I'll see this coming Sunday!
My wife, new baby and I were there this past weekend, and I will be returning for a second visit Sept 19th.
...this weekend this weekend this weekend...really looking forward to it! Lots to pack, I've started already, wonder what I'll forget this time...
One of my co-workers went this past weekend and we didn't go. Figures...
Edit: Has anyone seen Cyron or Canonman lately?
Jon.
Definitely this weekend all 3 days.
Heading to Holly Rec this afternoon! :happydance:
Do you have the same camp site?
The last two weekends we were "serenaded" all night (by the dancing feet and adolescent voices of several volleyball teams) at the Flint Comfort Inn. We are switching to the Flint Holiday Inn this weekend for Sat/Sun night. That's camping for us. The last time we tried real camping we were serenaded by the a/c of the adjacent rvs all night. Considering our horendous travel time (from Ft Wayne IN) it's a splurge I'm not willing to go without.......but I do miss the campfire.......most hotels discourage that I think.
Looks like Sir Morgan and I will be there Sunday (today :P). Sadly we'll be disguised to look like mundanes.

Yuo could try the local B&B in Holly (I hear tell the owners are Renaissance folks)
I'm thinking maybe the 20th as we (Ring of Steel) have a Stuntacular Open House on 9/19 if I can get a ride and definetly maybe the last weekend or at least the last Sunday for tear down. :-\
Holly Crossing Bed & Breakfast. Truly a wonderful experience. Had the good fortune pf spending the season there a few years ago. Dan and Bobbie (the owners) are wonderful and BIG festival fans. Often see then on site.

This year hasn't been going as planned for faire. We had planned on going on Sunday but due to my MS never made it. Looks like we'll only get to be there on the 26th now.
Went the 2 days over Labor Day weekend, but not the 3rd had to get back to work on a van. And then attended the 12th. all good times. We stayed at the Grand Blanc Holiday Inn, which was quiet and affordable. It was nice to have a pool to cool off in after faire. And the hotle was only 10 minutes away from the faire.

You were there the 12th? I was trying to keep my eye open for you. I really would like to get a closer look at your armor and gear. Where you wearing it Saturday?
No, I packed light gear to stay in the hotel, so I only had on my pauldrons, and bracers. And now I have an earache that is so bad it hurts my whole chest, I don't think I'll wear it this Friday or Saturday. But, maybe next week or so. It is my favorite garb, though sometimes heavy. Just plans and health haven't been conductive to my wearing of my full gear. Did you check my pic out in post yourself thread> You can get a better look at my gear there I noticed you too wear Pyramid Leather Armor and carry a bow. The one on my profile is just an updated pic. So maybe I'll see you at some point we shall see.
Did see your pic in the post yourself thread, that's the one that intrigued me for even a closer look in person. Totally understand about the weight. I just have the cuirass and pauldrons, but chose to forgo it last Saturday do to the heat of the day. Also have a butted chainmail vest I rarely wear as lugging around another 25lbs makes can make for a long day. Hope your earache subsides.
Thank you, my ear has gotten better. Looking to get to faire this weekend. Yeah, the mail looks awesome, but on really hot days it's just no fun to wear. But, being the sort of reenactor I'am I wear it because that's what they would've done in the renaissance. Look at the crusaders in the desert they could've dressed lighter, but they didn't, cause they thought armor was their only protection over speed and agility like the Muslims.
