The Scarby website has the dates and information for the 2010 season, but
when you click on the online ticket sales link it says tickets are no longer available online.
http://www.scarboroughrenfest.com/tickets/index.htm
Any idea when they might actually go on sale?
If you plan on getting a season pass or FOF membership... MAIL IN THE PHOTO.
Last year the wait was HOURS to get the photos made for these passes.
I usually get the FOF because of the 2 free tickets and the preferred parking. For those who partake in the scotch...there's also ice in the FOF area. On those hot days...there's sport drink available as well and I always grab one of those for every bib boy drink I consume to avoid dehydration.
Everything is gearing up for SCREAMS, so SRF tickets won't be up yet...
Capt Marga
The Scarborough office is usually quite focused on Screams right now. I would keep checking back, but don't really expect much til after Screams is in full swing or even over.
They historically go on sale in December
We are planning on getting tickets on sale in November. Latest would be early December if we run into problems. I concur about the picture. Send it in the mail or email when the time comes.
Berit
Well I was hoping to get tickets for Don Juan's birthday December 5, but that has come and gone.
Last year was the first season they had done photo ID's so cut them some slack, there is going to be some glitches. I went and got mine made at NTIF because I got it done and didnt have to worry about it right before/during faire.
Looking forward to tickets being up soon. Wondering if I can convince my parents for an early birthday present...maybe...just maybe.
Looks like the tickets are now on sale!!!! Strike one thing off the "need to buy for Christmas present" list......
Got mine. The website doesn't say anything about an id card like last year.
Last year was a mess getting the season tickets....1 camera and all.... took forever.
I'm getting FOF again ! Wooohooooo free gatorade...I mean swill for me ! !
Got mine. Now just waiting on April to get here.
Last year...there was an incredibly LONG wait to get our FOF and Season tickets at the premiere day.....
Has anyone heard of any improvements in this area?
Can we get our PAID passes mailed to us so we don't have to endure that again?
Merlin:
As has been stated previously, you can mail your photo in to the office ahead of time. As has also been stated several times previously, last year was the first year they'd done this, so it would probably be NICE to cut them some SLACK. Just sayin'...since you've posted at least three times in this same thread on the same subject. I don't mean to sound harsh, but we all understand that you were frustrated with the situation last year. Believe me, I have no doubt that the folks trying to process the passes were frustrated by their inability to move things along faster as well.
So lets give the people in the office a break, and go into this with a positive outlook rather than harping repeatedly about how horrible last year was, shall we? It isn't like they inconvenienced anyone on purpose after all.
I hope that everyone has a great time at faire this year.

Well thank you for that insightful reply but it still didn't answer my much repeated question so I guess I will have to ask it again.
(What's the count now? I forget?)
Can we get our PAID passes mailed to us ?

Call the office. They will have a better response than we will to your question.
And next time, go there instead of beating a dead horse.
I did that but no answer. Also tried the "contact us" form on the site....doesn't work.
Thanks for the suggestion though.
.
I would suspect that the office is on holiday break, as this is one of the few times they get a break between Screams and Scarborough.
I love Holidays.
Screams was fun....always is. I miss October... the weather is always so nice in October.
It was definitely a good year at Screams. The cold tends to put people in a Halloween-ish mood, and they seem to have more fun out there. Of course, by 1:30 a.m., I'm usually ready for a hot shower and about fifteen blankets on my bed, *grin* but that's all right!
It was a wet October too....but still fun.
Last year....we got a free wine tasting at Cat and Fiddle. Man that was fun.... I think I'll do that again this year.
(Can ya tell I'm getting antsy?)
Working on a new staff as we speak.
I got an e-mail that said you can use last years picture so that should make it easier on them and us.

Very cool !
Scarborough gets my hard earned money. A lot of it and it's not from my parents. This is business, we ain't friends so I'll "cut them some slack" when they give me free admission.
Advanced purchases are good for businesses as a indicator of how the season will go and it's cash up front. That's why other parks love advance sales.
I purchased two season tickets last year and this board is the first where I've read about sending in a picture. Someone over there needs to get on the ball and let patrons know.
You only need send in a picture if you buy the "Friends of the Faire" option. Unless things have changed.
I got a letter from Scarby a couple of days after I bought my FOF tickets. It explains about pics. I'll probably just get mine made at the Irish Fest like last year.

Hey Ronald....did the pin come with the letter?
Woo Hoo! Got tickets for Christmas.
the pin is usually picked up at the FoF picnic, or opening weekend.
YAY DONNA ! ! ! Looking forward to seeing you there!
As Dona said, the pin is usually given out opening day.
Comp tickets should be mailed a little later. , but in plenty of time for faire.
There isn't a coupon for comp tickets with a bar code on the bottom your FOF print out tickets?
there is on mine. right in the middle of the page.
You are correct sir! We have added the comp tickets to the paper ticket. That way none of us has to stress over distributing the tickets and everyone gets their comps immediately. For those of you who have bought your tickets and want to use last years pass: send us an email to Office@SRFestival.com, give us the name on the pass, whether you bought a Season Pass of Friend of the Faire membership last year, and what you bought this year. Please list your current address. Also it would be helpful to have a phone number to contact you in case we can't find your name.
If you want to send in a picture this year, send it to SRFpics@gmail.com. It should be 400 X 300 pixels and at least 500K as a file size. We also need to know what ticket you bought, what the first and last name is, your address and your phone number so that we can contact you. We are still considering the best way to get everyones pins to them. We will let you know what we come up with.
For those of you who got to share our frustrating with the photo process at NTIF last year, we have purchased a second camera and pass printer (also for use at the festival). We really appreciate your support and welcome suggestions.
Sire Berit or Miller,
Knight of Lite
We finally got ourselves organized and emailed our photos for the FOf passes.
Looking forward to this season!
Will there be discount tickets for RenDezvous weekend, and if so, how do we go about getting them?
Thanks. I told you on another thread, that I am so detail-oriented, I like to get everything taken care of in advance, with no worries and no surprises!

That's how I am also.
Bought our FoF packages yesterday. ;D
Woooot ! Free grog for you ! ! !
Would love to get a FoF pass but I live to far away for it to benefit me XD
I'd go to Scarby every weekend it was open.

I haven't seen anything on the RenDeVous planning thread but the Faire does sell group discount tickets. Perhaps you could go in with some of the others and buy a discount block of tickets.
Everyone, Elle and I will be organizing ticket sales for RenDezvous this week. Thanks so much for your patience!
Once again Blue comes through!
I hope everyone remembers all her work when they see her at the Cat and Fiddle.
She likes Cider !
And someone pack her a flask of Tequila! ;)
My Scarby season pass came today! Huzzah! Now I just need to find rides!
Huzzah to Blue and Elo for the work on Renndevous! Wish I lived closer!

This will be my first trip to Scarby... it ought to be interesting.
All info for Scarby RenDezvous tickets are up! Thanks!

Fraser.... there's a tradition at Scarby....not sure if anyone has mentioned it to you yet... actually it's more of a rule... ummm ..LAW, if you will... that upon entering the gates of Scarby for the first time.... one must first meet a wizard in the FOF parking area for a pre-canon toast.
The libation is usually provided by said newbie and generally comes in the form of a single malt scotch.
It's an old tradition...I mean LAW.... but it is one that they enforce heavily at Scarby. It may sound weird now.... but I've seen many a newbie dragged out of the gates and flogged unmercifully by ground security for not obeying this rule.
I just don't want to see that happen to you....so I'm offering up my wizard services to you for this ritual so that you may enjoy your weekend at what I consider my home faire. Also.... you wont have to fret being taped inside a port-o-potty and slid down a hill as long as you comply with our rules...ahem... I mean LAWS.
I'm pretty easy to find... I'm a freak.

Be warned that the pre-cannon toast is quite the melee. Look for all the flags in the parking lot near the front. We'll be waiting for you!
I will also offer my wizarding services for the pre cannon toast! LOL! I like this law Merlin! Huzzah!

Bonnie.... after researching this law... I did find in article 2 subsection IVc-e it does mention that the "faire newbie must participate in the pre-canon toast with both a male and a female wizard if such exists at said faire".
Ergo.... it will be necessary for Fraser to provide pre-canon libations for both you and I to ensure his safety inside the gates.
HUZZAH ! !
Just bought my season pass and I'm confused. I printed out a ticket, but surely this isn't my season pass? I know they are doing pictures on friends of faire, is there anything I need to do with my season pass?

What they have on the website about sending in photo and such for FoF passes applies for season passes as well... *just had to do her mother and sister's season pass for them*.
Also works for performer's pass... *had to do that for myself last week*
And they should send you your pass in the mail, too, so you won't have to worry about picking it up at site.
If send in a pick earlier you can get an actual hard copy pass instead of the paper ticket. Otherwise they scann the paper ticket and send you to have your photo taken. Last year we made the mistake to waiting until opening day to have our photos taken. It was a bad idea. :(
If you dont' have a pic just make an appointment that first weekend to have them done. Saves a head ache then trying to stand in line to have it done.

This is from Berit's post, but it reads the same on the website. Surely the wording should be "...400 x 300 pixels and at
most 500K as a file size." I don't think I have a picture that small that's 500K?
Really! I went nuts trying to get Lawrence's pass picture even close to 500K (no luck whatsoever). Mine is nowhere near that, and both worked fine.

I did the same thing! I tried every single format I could, and nothing was anywhere near 500K... I even had my tech savvy bf help to no avail. So, I sent in what I had and they said it was fine.
Glad I'm not the only one that was completely confused.
So...let me get this straight...I bought Season Passes for myself and the Dirt Fairy. Do I need to send in photos?

Yes.... or get your picture made once you get there.
Thanks Merlin! I will send them in now! ;D
They told me anything between 35K and 500K works fine. 7K is ok, but it looks pretty grainy. They want it smaller than 500k for storage reasons. Remember, they do 4K+ Season passes and limit FoF to 2K. That's a BUNCH of pictures.....
I just got the "Dirt Fairy" and I's season passes in the mail and the photo's look great! Thanks everyone for the info! I would have HATED waiting in line on opening day to take photos! ;D ;D ;D Yay! We are almost there! ;D ;D ;D
