I have been listening to way to much Gaelic Storm, Great Big Sea, Runrig, and The Fables for my own good. If you know who these folks are, you're doing pretty good, if not... just ask, but be warned... the first time's free... after that, you gotta pay.
I want some gaelic/celtic folks to jam with.
Any ideas, takers?
Could make for a hell of an act too.
Well I'd be up to it BUT, I sold my guitars and all my amps and effects and mics lastyear. Had a killer setup from my days of playing in metal bands,. Oh well OH I don't sing anymore either so that's out. Good luck.
What are you looking for in way of folks to jam with. are you looking for just a casual group to sit around and make music with, or looking to put together a performance group?
And, if you are a fan of GBS, you might be interested to know that one of the bands that opened for them one on of their denver trips, Carbonleaf, will be playing Boulder next wednesday, and Denver on Friday. THey put on a hell of a show.
'cause obviously you need to listen to MORE of that kind of music <grin>
Carbonleaf does a heck of a show. I like their tunes pretty alright for sure. I think the best groups, the ones that really connect and make good music, don't start with the intention of performing... just jamming. But hey, if it turns into something that we want to take to the stage... what the hell, why not, eh?
Now I have no musical talent but if you boys like GBS and every one like that you should check out Enter The Haggis they are damn good! Dont forget The Glengarry Bhoys, Haidrians Wall, The Kildares they are all great bands and well all of the ones I just listed were at Scot Fest!
so, will there be jam, or just jelly?
I'd be up for a good jam session, I even some some celctic/renaissance music books. I can even jam on the ocarina a bit, but am best utilised on guitar haha!
The more the merrier! Anyone know a fiddle player and bass player... maybe some drums by chance?
I can dabble in bass too, but sadly do not own one. :(

Yes.
I can play the hell out of an Ipod......
Do Oatmeal boxes count as drums? or maybe pots and pans and wooden spoons?
