Title: Blech: dust
Post by: groomporter on September 21, 2009, 12:35:54 PM
It was so dusty this weekend that when we took the fabric display games off the cart we could see the game layout on the board underneath where the dust had filtered through the cloth, but not through the ink.

Wow...that's crazy but kind of cool.

When I was changing into my flip flops in the pit before driving home, I dropped one of my ghillies. A veritable mushroom cloud of dust issued forth from said ghillie.

Not to mention the half pound of dust that I can feel in my lungs today...

LOL!

I woke up this morning with shards of "dust crystals" in my eyes.  The morning shower looked like the black and white scene from Psycho! (It helped that I screamed like Janet Leigh).  Gotta remember to launder the bed linens when I get home

Things would have been worse but thankfully for us we have a "dust boy" who waters down the area in front of the shop several times a day! (He's ours, you can't have him!)

I played with the Terpsicory musicians for evening court last night. One of the dances probably looked pretty but kicked up way too much dust. All the musicians will probably have fest crud now. And at the soap shop, there's been so much dust that you can't read the labels on some of the soap anymore!  ???

Aha, got an old hand-pumped garden sprayer that has never had anything but water in it, may bring that out to hose down the front of the booth during the day if it doesn't rain.

yeah my lungs are killin me today (or was that due to the Marbs?) just took car through car wash at holiday and its still dirty. when I carried in my blankets and dirty garb from car this AM it lead to a big dust storm. then I used wipes to get rid of dust on my dash from havin windows open to let air into the car (maybe that was a bad idea when parked in the pit!?!) and the wipes disintegrated. Im guessing they were old and in the car too long but they were still wet so I dont get it

That was due to the dehydration from all the LOKI you drank!!

I rather enjoy the dust.  It is about the only way my pale weed puller will get a tan this year.   ;D

(But, that's what you get for living at the hospital for the 2 solid months of the summer...)

Today it hurts when I breathe in too deep. I know it's from the dust. Ah well, we get through it every year....!

I had yesterday off so managed to sleep most of the day away but I think it also helped me get over this a little. I also have a good way to clear out my lungs. I showered with our Soothing Eucalyptus soap. Cleared things up nicely.  ;D

Standard procedure after the fest on a dry day is a nice shower and blowing the nose while warmed up. Lot's of brown dirt comes out every time. Our boy was amazed at seeing the dirt come out. Kept trying to blow his nose to see the dirt.
