Title: Screams opens this weekend!
Post by: lys1022 on September 30, 2009, 11:35:43 AM
Hey there, all!  Remember that Friday night is Opening Night for Screams!!!

There have been a lot of really good improvements going on, and the frights are all really pumped about giving everyone the frightening time of their lives!  We hope that you come out and visit us this year.

If you've never been out before, come and give us a try.  If you HAVE been out before, come on back and see the changes for yourself.

It's going to be a SCREAMingly good time! *grin*

We plan on being there Friday night.  My wife jumps everytime someone moves then laughs at herself for it.  Me it takes a lot to make me jump so now you have a challenge.

I went both Friday and Saturday. Park looks amazing, pumpkin patch rocked. (If you are on Facebook, I wrote a more detailed report.)

All the houses were top notch, actors were very good. I had two really good evenings. Everybody, who stood out or roamed out in the rain - thank you, your efforts are appreciated. I will be sending fmily and friends out there.

Had sooo much fun! Was stuck in the maze for 20 minutes almost lost my sneakers in the mud. Love the Pirates of Peril.

Glad to hear that everyone is having fun at Screams!  I hope that more folks come on out and visit.  I know I'm a bit biased, but I think that the improvements that get made every year only make it better and better!  It is a VASTLY different haunt than it was when I started there 8 years ago! :)

Make sure you visit Miss Gardenia and her l'il ole punkin patch while you're there, y'all!  *grin*

It's been many years since the boys and I were at Screams. I miss the hayride. Wish they didn't do away with that. Saw too twenty two band, they were good. Been to all the haunted Houses. Our favorite was The Pirates of Peril. Went there twice. Got lost in the Maze for about 20 minutes. Almost lost my sneakers. Fun. woohoo  ;D

Should be a spectacular night for haunting tonight!  I hope that folks come on out and visit all of us!  VIII is only one of many spectacular characters roaming the grounds and working in the houses for your entertainment.  Come and Scream with us! :)

Is there a map of the park anywhere?? I know there is the map for scarborough. But I don't see a map on the screams website. Without one how do you know where the certain attraction you want to go to first is at. And where the beverage stands are :) Thanks.

I am not sure, if there is a map, but chances are you will want to visit everything. The area is small, so it is very easy to get your bearings.

Just as you walk in - there is the cemetery - read the head stones, they will make you smile.
Once you get out, you can go to the right and hit Pirates of the Peril Point or the Maze (in the general direction of glass blowing). If you go to the left (the Bird of Prey stage), you can visit the Dungeon or watch a movie. Down from there is Arcane Asylum. Monster Museum is also open and it is a very cool place to go. The pub and kitchens across from it are open for business. To the right of the Monster Museum is the Pumpkin Patch.

There is a lot to do, I am sure I am forgetting something cool.

You can run screaming through the streets being chased by the Roaming monsters, as well.

Or use your companions as shielding devices to protect yourself from said monsters. ;)

Using someone as a shield doesn't work. I used my son's girlfriend as a shield (she's taller then me) when something jumped out to scare her. She bolted backwards and hit me on the nose. I was in pain. I thought my nose was broken. This happened at Pirates of Peril's Point. But all in all we had a lot of fun.

You picked a very tall shield. I just tried it Friday night - used a 105 lbs girl, and positioned her between me and dark corners. ;)

That didn't work in the streets, we hunted in packs. 8)

No, it does not work in streets - you are vulnerable at 360 degrees. BTW, you startled my last Screams companion. That was totally worth seeing for me! ;D
