Uh, no thank you, please.  I don't go to places with words like "terror",  "scare", "fright", or any other adjective that suggests that peeing my pants is a likely possibility.

I love Halloween, but I am not a big fan of people in heavy stage make-up and fake blood jumping out at me screaming boo!  It's mildly frightening but excessively annoying.

Couldn't agree more. I'm easily startled and would probably scream a lot, but not really out of *fear.*

October is my favorite month of the year, Autumn my favorite season and Halloween my favorite Hallmark Holiday by far, but I am really not into the whole haunted theme park/house thing either.

Nope.  It is impossible to scare me, so it would be a waste of time and end up being a Fest Family Reunion in different costumes.

Anyone know if it is any good?  My daughter has expressed an interest in finding such a Halloweenish activity

A few years back one of my girlfriends had the opportunity to check out several different fright parks. She said that by far ValleyScare was the best one.
What I remember of Trail of Terror: We got lucky for a short line to the "hay ride." There were certainly a few good startle moments, but overall it was pretty short and became predictable. The haunted house line took FOREVER to get through. I don't really remember the house. I remember waiting OUTSIDE the house, I remember the scary clown sneaking up on people waiting in line, I remember freezing while waiting outside the haunted house. I do not remember a thing about the haunted house itself.
This year if we hit a fright park I'm going to go to ValleyScare.

I brought my friends 2 years in a row and had a good time, unfortunately I wasn't able to be scared as easily as her but it was fun seeing her reaction to the ghouls and ghosts, I can say that I was startled a few times though.  I was thinking of going to ValleyScare at Valleyfair but we can afford it this year and we probably won't make it down to Trail of Terror this year either.

Over Thanksgiving dinner my nephew and his girlfriend said they went and were very disappointed they had to wait and wait to get into the indoor maze, and by the time they got out they were looking at another hour wait until they could get on the hay ride. So they just left. They sppoke to someone working there and were told the event sometimes had to stay open until 2am to get all the patron through who were waiting
