Hiya Trill. I fear you may be right. I checked the status of the domain recently. It was renewed in July so we have at least another year. But you are right, the site is incredibly slow. It needs to be updated badly. Either a different host or it needs a better dns.

I was hoping someone who had physical contact with DeadBishop was still checking in here. I'd be happy to assume responsibly for the site and get it up to speed, literally (o:

Our local faire is TRF. It also used to have nice open grassy areas where folks could chill out in the shade. They have since been taken over by vendor booths. And it seems every time we visit, the prices on food and drink have increased significantly.

The faire is now under new ownership so I'm hopeful that the new owners will be less greedy and more about the magic and imagination. Time will tell.

no turkey legs here either....I think our faire days are over for the season...the NYRF is way too crowded the rest of the season...3 weekends left..and man, every quiet area we would like to go to escape and feel the "whimsy" are now packed with tented vendors. Still nice to see huge crowds of folks just enjoying themselves..the garbed and the Danes, especially in these hostile times, but shoulder to shoulder and the weaving in and out gets old. and tiring for this old lady.

Quote from: RefMom3 on September 13, 2025, 09:28:11 PMSeveral years ago, my brother and his wife came to Bristol with my middlest daughter and I. My SIL, from Costa Rica, had no idea what to expect at the faire, and it was not really to her liking. She was very upset that there wasn't healthier food choices, and the idea of walking around the grounds for several hours just made her more upset with every step. I think my brother should have prepared her better for what the whole thing entailed. My brother enjoyed himself, though. He bought one of those hanging chairs, and still has it in the little shade house he has in his backyard.

love those sky chairs!  I find it such a drag to go with "newbies' bc I feel obligated to show them the big hot spots that are usually jam packed.

always on the look out for YouTube videos and yes, they do seem to focus on shopping :/

I suspect we are on our own...which doesn't bode well for the site. It is crawling..
