Check out this site. http://downriverpit.webs.com They're based here in Michigan, and I'm a member of the site. My brother, his friend and his girlfriend are the founders. You'll notice I've made most of the comments on the pics. Hoping that others would join in the conversations and postings. Tell me, and them what you think. Just something to get the wheels turning to discuss what goes bump in the night.

I absolutely believe in ghosts and the paranormal, having seen evidence of both with my own eyes, so I of course went to the web site.

I'm afraid the images where so grainy that I couldn't see what was being shown to me, even when it was outlined in yellow, so I didn't leave any comments.  Sorry.
Nothing clever to say here.  Not enough caffine yet.

I love it, but I don't believe since I've never experienced anything.

I love this really spooky Youtube video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G74ZJrG4ICc

There was an interesting episode of the Skeptoid podcast that explains how many ghost hunters don't understand how their electronic tools work http://skeptoid.com/episodes/4081

There was an interesting program on PBS recently that discussed ghost in the London subways that mentioned the effect of low frequency "infrasound" on people as a possible explanation of some haunted locations.

The subject interests me (I've seen plenty), but unfortunately for me, ghosts like me so much they will attach themselves to me if they can....so I tend to stay away from haunted places including cemetaries. Getting rid of unwanted spirits can be a pain in the arse!!!

I, too, have had my share of experiences - some as calm as sharing the same room for several minutes, and others that scared me half to death.  And like RR, I have to be very careful because they like to attach to me.  (We must have some strange sort of energy that attracts them.)

Last week I spent four hours in a basement so loaded with ghosts no one should have been able to last in there more than two minutes. Of course, I was killed nine times.

My sister says- "In order to see ghosts you have to have the gift."   Okay, in this case, I'll just skip the gifts and go for the cake.

I am a definate believer, having seen for myself. My nephew and I both have the gift...I plan on encouraging my son as well when he is old enough.

I'm a strong believer of the Paranormal. There were a few times when I've seen things that had no
explaination. I have a question about picture #3 in the Investigation Album. I saw the orb, couldn't make out the face in which was described but I saw something else in the picture that I can't make out what it is, maybe you can shine some light on the subject. Between the orb and the tree in the background there is something there that looks like someone standing beside another tree.  Any ideas?

Good eye, It does look like a person. I wasn't on this particular investigation so I don't know if anyone was standing there. I'll have to ask them.

I've seen three ghosts and that is enough to last me forever.

Unfortunately orbs are pretty much debunked as dust in the air caught by the camera flash. That being said, I'm currently reading the book The Most Haunted House in England (1940) by Harry Price one of the most well known psychical researchers of his time. http://www.harryprice.co.uk/index.html

A fun book to check out is Spook: Science Tackles the Afterlife It's an entertaining historical survey of investigations into the afterlife. Did you know in the early 1900's that regular cheesecloth was the most common prop used by fake medium's to simulate ectoplasm?

One of the most interesting bits was a University of Virginia operating room experiment where cardiologists have installed a laptop up high where no one can see it during the procedure, and it displays a random image. After the cardiac surgeries where they stop the person's heart, they ask the patient if they had an out of body experience. No positive responses as of the printing of the book, but an interesting idea.
