Oreo is very smart! Good he got the WORD on the marking. Batman sometimes still marks. Bad kitty- but he is not the brightest star in the firmament. Loving- but not brilliant.
I love Angus too. Hug them for me Cat.
Yoshi is being super lover kitty today. He is a cutie!

Crazy Spooky has taken to sitting on the cd player, quite frequently turning it on in the process.  Nothing like waking up to Gershwin.

Our cat Sandia always falls asleep on the back of the couch and her fat butt hangs over the edge, it's really funny...

When one of our kitties, Jasmine, was younger, she used to sleep in most bizzare and uncomfortable positions.. here is one:

I have a Jasmine too. One of her favorite pasttimes is to get on a rotating office chair, sit up facing the back rest and gripping it, and be spun round and round and round until she starts to collapse.  :D

and then pick her up and tease her with a toy to make her run.. I did that a couple of times just to see a drunk cat walk lol

We welcomed a new furry friend to our home today, a beautiful all-black gentleman named Simon, a rescue from the local shelter.  He's quite the character.  Pictures to come!

Me too!  I've wanted one for a very long time, I have a fascination for them.  He's getting more brave and adventuresome as each hour passes, although he and the other kitty still aren't too pleased with each other.

Do you think giving them some Catnip will mellow them out so they become best of friends?  :)

He is a beautiful cat Zoe! Thanks for the pictures!  Very regal and svelt. It takes time for cats to get used to each other. Try catnip.

Zoe,

we got our second kitten when our other kitty was 2 years old. We separated the little kitty in our big bathroom at first- smaller space and making lights dim suppose  to make him less scared. Of course, new kitty recieved his own sleepy bed, dishes, toys etc.

We let little one be on his own for about a half of a day, offered some food and water but did not let cats see one another. Each cat recieved a new blankie to sleep on...

On next day , we switched blankies so kitties can sniff on one another's scent. We also sparayed Feliway ( which contains natural cat pheromones) everywhere in the apartment. Of course, cats knew about another but all they could do is to hiss at a closed door.

A bit later on, we let them see one another. Hubby was holding one while I was holding another.. Older kitty was hissing of course.Throuhgout the day each of us would go hug with little kitty  to get her scent on our clothes and then we would go to hug the big one.

End of day 2- day 3. We removed little one from the  bathroom and let the big one in to sniff in the bathroom, to eat from her dish and so on.. The main idea was to get scents mixed.

After that, probably on  a day 4 or so , we let them be in the same room. Supervised. Oh my, hissing was out of control . We were very patient though. Little by little they got to know each other, now they share litter boxes ( we had 2 boxes , one for each kitty) and they share dishes now too, they sleep together and clean one another so I would say our method worked.

Main thing is, do not force them to like each other and spend time  and play with one another. It will be probably few months before  they are OK with one another.

I hope this helps

Hugs,

Here are my two Royal Felines.  They very much run the show here.

Wednesday is our big, chubby 4 year old.  We found her when she was a kitten outside in the rain and cold in the middle of February and fell in love with her instantly.  She is now our resident multiple personality cat - she'll be in your lap, enjoying the pets your giving her and then suddenly nibble your arm and jump off your lap.  One minute she loves the kitten, the next she's hissing.  So we tease her about her mood swings lol.  She is definitely the queen around here.

Jasper is 4 months old.  My cousin found him under the tire of a truck, about to be run over.  She dove under the truck, screaming at the driver to stop, and grabbed him up.  She already has 3 dogs, one more than military housing will allow lol  so she couldn't keep him.  We decided to take him and are so glad we did.  Jasper is our little love bug.  He loves everyone he meets, he purrs if you look at him, and he is always ready to be picked up or to sit in your lap or right next to your leg.  He has the sweetest disposition of any cat I've ever known.
