Your love for others and passion to want to help other people in their time of need always shows and that is what a good RN is all about.

While the last day is drawing closer is harder for me to come to the office. I know I have other plans but seeing the empty drawers and the boxed files brings a wave of sadness over me. I worked with this company for 6 years.

* sigh *

But lets thinks happy thoughts and about the future. I started my research about nursing. It will be two year program and I need some prerequisite classes before I.m starting it - more precisely 4 of them. I'm starting the first group in the summer. It will be interesting to see how it goes.
I will also start looking for a job in the hospital or medical field so I could get  used with the field and create a network.

I keep telling myself "Be proactive ... think that everything will OK and things will eventually start to go the right way then."

Luciana like I told your before you will make a fine Registered Nurse. Your patients will love you...........I promise you that. Anyway you continue to be in my thoughts and prayers. Don't let this sadness of the last days of this old job of yours get you down because I believe that when the Good Lord closes a door he always opens up a new window of opprotunity which he is doing for you by your quest to become a RN.

Thank you everybody ... I really appreciate your support and help because from time to time dispear takes over.

Anyway ... when it rains, it purrs. I went skiing on Saturday (we borrow ski passes from a friend) and twisted my knee. And of course I could not stay put on Sunday (thanks to F and Gabi) and went to a bike ride. And not a short ride ... a nice 20 miles, 1.5 hours bike ride. And today I came to work so my knee is hurting ... time for the pain killer again.

Time for Luciana to start thinking about keeping herself healthy more than she thinks about trying to keep everyone happy...

A nurse really needs to have healthy knees, dear! Please think about that when you're considering doing something like this again, ok?!? Sometimes you have to put your own wellbeing first, in order to ensure the wellbeing of those around you!

I keep my knee elevated ... I'll also keep my mails to a minimum ... I got to work, found an email from Gabi's teacher and my answer was kind of snappy. Ouch next time I'll take a deep breath before answering.

Layoffs can be difficult even in the best of times (we went through it in 2001) but it sounds like you have a plan and that is a good thing.  Look to the future and move forward.

Seryn you're right ... it hurts, I think I'll have to forfeit my pass and stop skiing for the rest of the season. The swelling is down now but I am a lot more careful and I'm wearing my brace so I hope I'll have no more damage.

White trillium .. than you very much for your kind words. Is the fifth time in 12 years when I get laid off and that prompted my decision to change the careers.

Luci I am so glad that you are keeping a positive attitude about this. With the economy the way it is right now you along with the rest of us should be thankful that we all even have a job right now. By the way that was a smart move on your part forfeiting your pass and giving up skiing for the rest of the season. Your health should always come first you know.
