Captain Jack Wolfe

I hate to dredge up an old thread, but I hit upon this beautiful render.

Yeah.  That's the big E.

Ok, It's growing on me...I guess I'm just a sucker for the "classics"...

The movie has not come out so it is not an old thread yet Jack.  ;)

It still keeps the original style with 2000 lines. I guess they are trying to get better gas mileage out of the old girl...  :o

Actually I came to renfests out of attending Sci-Fi/Fantasy conventions, the idea that the new movie will be going back into the time line is exactly the sort of thing that is liable to draw the interest of all the old school Trekers as well as the newer fans as well. When I saw the preview for the new movie I started making plans to round up a few of my high school friends and made plans to see it sometime during the opening weekend. ;D

Hibernian

Alphonse is right about bringing the old school out of the woodwork, although some of us are a little older than the "high school friends." Now as Wench would say at this point in the conversation...."oh look sparkles!"

Hate to be the wet blanket, but so far this oldtime trekker is not 100% enthusiastic about this one.

I'm sure it'll be good, just not what's expected. The old timers are going to complain about canon violations, as well they should. It will be an enjoyable movie regardless, especially if I can set aside certain preconceptions that have been garnered over the decades. I seem to remember thinking TNG was the worst idea ever until after about two and a half years, turns out it's popularity far exceeded that of its progenitor.
Thanks,
