The auditions were to be this past Saturday at CU but they were canceled because of the impending Snow storm. From my understandings that have been moved to CU on April 18th. I have t info at home or maybe the Professor will post it as he is the one who sent me the info.

Nope still have a butt load of snow.

We had an Easter egg hunt in the house.. in fact one of the dogs is gaurding an empty palstic egg at the mo ::)

Hope every one had a good one!

Can't say it was good as Toki came down withthe flu on Saturday. Had my mom over though for baked chicken, home made mashed taters, stuffing, cranberry sause and a very yummy chicken gravy I made. Just hope Toki feels better today after feeding his fever.

Gauwyn of Bracknell

we are travelling to this one in July and taking our 9 year old (his first one).    This is our first time at this faire and looking forward to it.   So far this year we have been to Arizona and Scarborough.

Is it hot in July in Denver??  May have bearing on the garb I where  ;)

Hmm I would pack for freaky hot and not so hot..

You never really know with Colorado haha

Blushing

Well, the weather in Denver might not be exactly like the weather in Larkspur, where the faire is, or even Colorado Springs for that matter (weather is weird near the divide, you see).  Usually, it's at least a bit cooler in Larkpsur because of the elevation.

And since it's very dry here, hot temperatures don't necessaryily feel as hot as they would somewhere humid, so drinking water is even more important.  Afternoon thunderstorms are fairly common, but they're not cold storms, usually!

I hope that helps.

Colorado Summers are a little like this.

Hot, unless it's not.
Dry, unless it's raining.
Still, unless it's windy.

Best advice; Wear light clothes and lots of sunscreen and carry a cloak. That way, you are ready for anything except snow....which is not outside the realm of possibility, but is unlikely.

Probably not as hot as summers in Arizona, especially in Larkspur, but plan for temperatures in the 80-100 range.

Having been coming to CoRF now for 20 years what Blushing and Adriana say is true.

I have seen it in the very high 90's with no clouds in sight, to  a few clouds to great cloud cover. I have seen it rain for a few minutes to pouring rain almost snow like with temps in the high 40's with the rain (Now that is cold). I have seen it rain so hard it feels like a flood. And I have seen it in the low 50's with cloud cover and yes it does feel cold to some people. If you are not use to the temps in Colorado 50 can feel very cold. And while Denver may be sunny, Larkspur may not be or vice verse as is C. Springs.

So the best advice? be prepared for everything from the 50's to near or slightly over 100's. Drinking liquids (and I do not mean beer or wine) is a must, as are sun screen as the Colorado sun is a little more intense at this altitude. Food is also a must to keep the energy but avoid eating to much breads or yeasts,,, BEER.

The other thing to keep in mind is CoRF is up hill all the way. Good shoes are a must as I have seen many people take a spill... sliding down on the gravel and gravel burns hurt like heck.

You can keep a cooler full of water in your car and go and take breaks as need but bringing it back in is not usually allowed.

Get to the parking lot early i.e. 9am is a good time since traffic gets bad around 10 and latter on I-25. Besides opening ceremony is always fun. Getting there early also means closer parking to the gates. Most start showing up around 8:30 to 9. Denver is about 45 minutes (with normal traffic) from the faire. Larkspur is about 10 - 15. Colorado Springs? Blushing will have to answer that but I think about 45 to 60 minutes.

If you plan on being in the area a few days a trip to Estes Park and Rocky Mountain National Park are a must as are outings to Colorado Springs into Manitou Springs and The Garden of the Gods. And if headed south a side trip to Bishops Castle is a HUGE recommendation. It is south and west of Pueblo. It's in Rye to be exact and easy to find.

I hope that helps. Keep us all informed on the family visit and I hope we all see you there. Look us up and say Good Day My Lord or Lady. Coloradoan's don't bite... to hard :)

OH and the ONLY thing we can say for sure about Colorado weather is...l it will change in 5 minutes and that is a Fact... And yes Snow has happened in July and I don't mean at 14,000 feet, I mean 4800 feet which is lower than Larkspur
