Alas! My cats are way too intelligent to respond to Hey You! LOL!
They need their proper names- or nicknames, or they will not appear at all! Spoiled Royal Felines!

:'( It is with deep sadness that I must report the passing of "Amadeus, The Dark Prince", one of our beloved felines. He passed this evening at 9:45 PM in my wifes arms. I have had him since October 1998 when he was not but 8 weeks old. Rest in Peace my friend.  :'(

So sorry to hear about your kitty Purple Dragon!!  I lost a kitty last year too and I still think of him often.  But I have another kitty to hold while I'm thinking of him which makes it alot easier!!!  Don't try to think about the lost kitty unless you're able to have another in your lap to hold and cry into if needed... that's my advise.

I have found that is so. I have lost a lot of special kitties- but another furry friend helps with the loss and pain.
I could never be without a cat to love. Right now I have Chingy who is pushing 20 years old and Tachi who is fighting Thyroid disease and diabetes.
Luckily Yoshi my Seal Point is young- but he will be lonely when the time comes. I plan to go to Siamese Rescue!

Purple Dragon, I am so sorry to hear of the passing of Amadeus.  Take care of yourself.

My belated condolences to you.  I agree about having another furry friend to cry and snuggle with.  You need each other, pets grief their housemates too.

Last Monday when I was unloading the car, this hungry lady greeted me.

It took a few minutes, but I finally convinced her to come in and take sanctuary in the EgypKITS room (and those two giving me looks all the way from "He's replacing us!" to "Look, I'm trying to plan dinner; will there be any other guests?"

I supplied food, water, litter, a place to stay for the night. She seemed happy.

I called her Nimr, Arabian for Tiger, and told her stories of the great huntress she was named after. Of how Nimr charmed her way into our lives, went from being an alley cat in Dhahran to being a cat who braved the fires and stole steaks bigger than her off of grills in Texas.

Of course, any arrangement in my humble keep must meet the approval of the EgypKITS, so I got on the phone with a coworker who has a small farm and 12 cats. He agreed to take Nimr.

In the following days, he told me of how Nimr was accepted into his house withing 15 minutes of arrival. Of how the cat previously there on its deathbed moved on two hours after her arrival, as if it was, "Good. My relief has arrived. I can move on to my next life."

I can only wonder for the pushover I am, will the word get out, will other kittens walk up to me?

Queen Bonnie

What a beautiful kitten! Amazing how she found a good home just in time to take over for the cat who passed on! I could never give up a face like that.Nimr is a wonderful name. cats are magical.

Our kitten is just over 12 years old and still plays like a kitten.  Loves everyone she meets.

Queen Bonnie

What a serene expression on your kitten's face, dragonslayer! What is her name?
I adore older kitties too.
I guess I just love them all!

Belated sympathies on the loss of your furrbaby, Purple Dragon.  I hope Amadeus is having a grand time on the other side of the rainbow bridge with all his new friends.

Her name is Psycho,  my wife and daughter rescued her from where she was dumped off in a parking lot.  They saw a car dump 3 kittens (barely weened) and drive off.  We took them in and found homes for the other 2.  This one kitten really took to me, so we decided to keep it.  She would jump into the air and swat at absolutly nothing, so we started calling her psycho kitty, and the name just stuck.

The best pets we have ever had have been rescued in similar situations.  Some people and some animals are just destined to be together.  We have never gone out looking for pets, they just seem to find us.

Her disposition is just that, serene, she doesn't get excited about anything.  That is unless you leave the door open and she inches outside, then thinks you are going to close the door.  She will run over you to get back inside.

Well, here I am again. I was content with the one cat I had (which, to my dismay, adopted my husband instead of me). Phantom and I don't really talk much, but we tolerate each other. He makes it a point to only really acknowledge my existence when he wants to lay on me late at night. So, I get back from Scarby last weekend or so, and my son starts telling me about these kitties. My mother, who has deviously planned to make me fall in love with the little beasts, spins a tale of woe about these kittens that were rescued from the brink of death out of my mother-in-law's attic. While MIL was in Florida, a momma cat moved in and had her babies, then left. They sent my 12 year old niece in after them, and they were quite happy to be rescued. Only one problem- Ace's family is allergic to kittehs, and his father HATES animals.

So, with the look of "please please please mom" on my 6 year old son's face, I reluctantly brought the matter to Ace. He's the end all when it comes to bringing in strays (be it furry friends or hoomin friends). Ace says, "If you'd like to keep them here until they find a home, you're more than welcome to. And if you fall in love with one of them, keep them."

So now, we are bogged down with Phantom (who hid under the bed for 3 days) and 3 kittehs- Jade, Shadow (who was originally named by my son and MIL "Nightmare"), and Riker, named for Lieutennant Commander William Riker from Star Trek because he's the only boy and my son called him Number One. Seemed fitting.

I think we have a home for dearest Riker already. Jade and Shadow will be staying with us.

I'm now the crazy cat lady on my block. They sleep on my shoulders....
