I will look around this week for a hamster of my own....;)

Having had a series of hamsters named Sam in grade school, I don't recommend them as pets.  They stay up all night partying on their little hamster wheels and have the nasty tendancy to bite - and very deep bites they are, too.

Now stuffed w/rice and pine nuts, that's a whole nother matter.

Hamsters showing up at shows... Now WHO would have thought of that? HUMMMMM Hey-Aren't-You, we seem to think along the same lines as we were both ones to bring our furry friends along with us. Lady Nibbles of Hampstershire would have gone to shows, but I think she was feeling a little under dressed and a little stressed with all the giants and feeling ALL alone with no one to keep her company but hairless apes.

I for one would like to thank all of the three hundred ninety two people who stopped by with hamster comments, stories, letters, pictures, recipes, etc, over the first two weekends of faire because Capt Spleen inspired them to do so.

A huzzah to the plush hamsters who stopped by with Hey- Aren't You and Lady de Laney.

Sir Garath- I do hope you find where it is they serve hamster on a stick.

And just to think- this all began in a little hamster shack at Zoe's house with a mere nineteen hamsters all those years ago.

p.s. I hope everyone gets to meet Tripod, my three-legged mouse.

I think a lot of it depends on the kind of hamster and where/when it was bought...hammies that are full grown and purchased from the pet store will probably be pretty mean, and deservedly so because they've been in a cage with minimal handling and interaction for all their lives.  The hamsters we raised from birth (albeit their accidental births) have all been very sweet with good temperaments, I think because we started handling them at a very young age.

Huzzah to the Hammies!

Hamsters like this are not good eatin' - all that excercise makes them tough.  It is even hard to get the stick through 'em  ;D

Hey- Arent You?

One hamster to fool them all,
One hamster to unwind them,
One hamster to mock them all,
and at the festival bind them.
In the land of Larkspurshire, where rennies fly.
